Brown-red mountain group has many traps 1

Brown-red mountain group has many traps 1

I slept well all night.

Huaiwen stretched and got out of bed, rubbing his eyes. The hot spring bath he soaked in last night was so comfortable that it made him want to stay in bed longer. Huaiwen took a sip of water, looked at the bright sunshine outside, felt happy, and walked out of the room with a smile.

She bumped into Xuan Ye and greeted him with a smile. Xuan Ye then pulled her downstairs to have breakfast. After eating for a while, Jiang Liyan still hadn't come down. Huaiwen muttered, "Could it be that he drank too much last night and can't wake up?"

"I'm full, I'll go wake him up."

Xuan Ye pressed down on Huai Wen's shoulder: "I'll go."

Huaiwen shook his head, indicating that he wanted to go too. Xuanye couldn't persuade him otherwise, so the two went together. They knocked on the door, but there was no response. Huaiwen called Jiang Liyan's name several times, but still there was no response.

Huaiwen cleared his throat: "Jiang Liyan, are you alright? If you don't say anything, I'm going to push the door open and come in."

There was no movement inside. Huaiwen looked up at Xuan Ye, but before she could do anything, he followed her gaze, pushed open the door, and went in first, with Huaiwen following closely behind.

The door was pushed open, but there was no one inside! Huaiwen and Xuanye were stunned for a moment. Huaiwen looked around and saw that Jiang Liyan's bundle was still there, so he must not have left it behind.

She then wondered if he had gotten drunk at the restaurant and was still there, not having been brought back. She went outside to look for him, and Xuan Ye followed. Cang Lun and Shi Yulu heard the commotion and came out of their room, also going along.

The four hurried to the tavern and inquired. The tavern staff said they had been sent back. The tavern owner glanced at the four, snorted, and pulled out an abacus: "You carved words on my pillar and damaged my great pillar. I'm going to settle this score properly!"

A single word awakened me from my dream.

The four gathered in front of the pillar where Jiang Liyan had slashed with his sword the night before. There, where Jiang Liyan had slashed, a line of crookedly written words appeared: "I'm your father."

Okay, now everyone understands.

Jiang Liyan was kidnapped by Yao Ri Ce Mie. Before even reaching their territory, he was taken hostage.

Immediately, Huaiwen hurriedly paid the money and led the group to rescue Jiang Liyan.

A reddish-brown river flows through the center of the reddish-brown mountains. On the riverbank stands a tall stone tablet with the words "Ce Mie's Territory" engraved on it.

After flying over the river and passing through those towering peaks, one can see the entire landscape under Ce Mie's jurisdiction.

Looking down from the air, Huaiwen and the others first saw rocks resembling pomegranates, layer upon layer, followed by sharp, knife-like rocks. After flying for a while, they could see sparse green trees and densely packed huts, built along the mountain range like a coiled snake.

The area ahead was where the Sniff Demons roamed, so they couldn't fly any further. They descended from the sky, first transforming into small demon soldiers of the Ce Mie sect, and then imitating them by carrying living people into the area.

Along the way, they didn't encounter any of the so-called "scent demons," which puzzled them. Nevertheless, they stayed close to the group, carrying a wooden dummy.

A commotion arose, followed by an argument. Listening closely, one could make out that they were saying the king had eaten a tender human yesterday, and in a good mood today, he planned to cook another one.

Huaiwen felt a little panicked. Could Jiang Liyan have been eaten like this? Canglun and Shi Yulu kept their heads down. As exiled and on-duty priests, their secret transformation to come here was hardly a matter of prestige.

The lesser demons in front of them were carrying living people. They came here not only to save Jiang Liyan, but also to save everyone here.

As Huaiwen walked, many questions swirled in his mind. Knowing that Ce Mie's territory was right here, why hadn't any priests or Taoists come to subdue him? Although he possessed strong self-healing abilities, he couldn't simply be allowed to continue like this.

After traversing those winding paths, the group arrived at a cave. It was pitch black inside, and they couldn't see anything. After walking in for a while, they heard the leader give the order to put everyone down and leave. Huaiwen and the others then quietly hid.

After the lesser demons left, they lit a small fire and suddenly realized there was no living person around them. Instead, they saw skulls embedded in the cave all around them. Instantly, the four of them realized they had been tricked!

A hearty, cunning laugh echoed throughout the cave: "A bunch of idiots, you've finally met your match! Enjoy this 'greeting gift' I've given you!"

With a loud boom, the surroundings seemed to shake. Shi Yuluo took out her glass umbrella, which enlarged, allowing the group to stand under it. The glass umbrella blocked the continuously flying stones.

After a while, another loud noise followed. The four of them shook a few times. Then, a commotion arose from all around, and if you listened carefully, you could hear crying, cursing, and screaming... Huai Wenxin felt a vague unease. She stepped outside the glass umbrella, and in an instant, she was stunned.

It was the skulls embedded in the cave that were screaming, it was the ghosts that had been eaten that were screaming, it was resentment and hatred that were screaming.

"He actually ate so many people." Shi Yulu put away her glass umbrella, her expression serious.

Cang Lun clenched his fist and looked around: "He is still stubborn and wicked."

Huaiwen's eyes were red. She knew Ce Mie was cruel, but seeing it with her own eyes was even more painful. Those vibrant people died here, died in his mouth. If Jiang Liyan were to suffer the same fate as these skulls, he would not forgive him.

Xuan Ye, observing Huai Wen's emotions, walked over and looked at Huai Wen firmly: "Don't worry, I think that based on Ce Mie's nature, it's probably not Jiang Liyan's turn yet."

Huaiwen nodded with slight relief. Shi Yulu, who was standing to the side, looked around and said, "Let's go out from here first."

The four took a few steps forward, then suddenly, a feeling of weightlessness overwhelmed them. They began to fall…

A wave of dizziness washed over her. Xuan Ye held Huai Wen, trying to calm her down. Huai Wen pressed her temples, but this allowed her to muster a little energy to look around.

They were currently atop a giant roly-poly toy. Any movement from them would cause the entire toy to wobble. Below lay unfathomable darkness, and no one knew what awaited them there.

"call out--"

Suddenly, barbed wire flew from both sides, attempting to suspend the four people. But it was all struck and destroyed. The next instant, countless more barbed wires appeared, capable of cutting the skin or even piercing through the body if one was not careful.

"He's not very capable, but he's got a lot of trouble!" Cang Lun said after repelling the barbed wire. "We should take him down."

"You're not worthy to take me in! I'll make you dance."

The moment Ce Mie's voice came from the air, all the barbed wires wrapped around them. After a few rounds of fighting, Cang Lun and Shi Yulu were both bound hand and foot. Xuan Ye protected the dizzy Huai Wen with one hand, and burned away the barbed wires that were attacking him with the other.

Soon, the trapped geomancers Yu Luo and Cang Lun were like puppets in a craftsman's hands. They were being manipulated, like puppets, being played with. Back and forth, ceaselessly, they were being danced. Cang Lun joked that he had never been so agile in his entire life.

Shi Yulu tried to use magic to cut the wire, but Ce Mie tightened the wire around her, causing her even more pain. Huaiwen finally calmed down and, seeing the situation, pleaded with Xuan Ye, "Help them."

Xuan Ye nodded, stood up, enlarged the fireball in his hand, and mocked with a playful tone: "I was hoping to see you perform another dance. But since you didn't do a very good job, forget it."

In an instant, the fireball in Xuan Ye's hand burned away all the barbed wire. The moment Cang Lun and Shi Yuluo were freed, they retaliated, cutting the barbed wire that was flying in all directions.

But those wires kept flowing out like a spring, and no matter how hard they tried to cut them, they couldn't get rid of them.

Shi Yulu couldn't help but say, "How can he be so childish!"

Cang Lun looked tired: "Even woodcutters can rest for a while. No—what was he thinking, making something so strenuous?"

Huaiwen also sighed. Normally, if one fell into a monster's trap, even if ambushed by hidden weapons, it would only be a matter of moments. Unlike Ce Mie, which dragged on endlessly. It seemed that cutting these wires wouldn't require much magic from them. But in reality, it was extremely exhausting in terms of energy and stamina.

Cang Lun loosened his aching muscles and asked, "So what should we do?"

Shi Yulu pondered, but she hadn't yet come up with a better solution, so she could only shake her head.

Huaiwen seemed to be thinking about something, and tentatively asked, "Since we're already here, why don't we go along with him and have some fun?"

“Okay,” Xuan Ye readily agreed. “Let’s see what he’s going to do.”

With his hands aching, Canglun roared, "How could he be so boring!"

“I already said it, ‘I’m ignorant and incompetent,’” Xuan Ye replied casually.

Canglun scratched the red marks on his face: "Do you really want us to dance?"

The four people looked at each other, and instantly understood—it really was possible.

They fell silent. They relentlessly continued cutting the wire, and no one offered to dance. Cang Lun bluntly admitted he was uncoordinated, while Shi Yulu coldly shook her head.

Huaiwen looked at Xuan Ye and asked him cautiously, "Your restaurant also has singing and dancing, so will you...?"

Xuan Ye vaguely guessed what was going on.

Huaiwen looked at him with pleading eyes: "How about... you give it a try?"

Xuan Ye lowered his eyes, his brows furrowed slightly, and his mouth was closed into a thin line: "No."

Huaiwen could understand; it was indeed inappropriate for her to instruct the Demon King to dance in front of everyone. Besides, he might not even know how to dance, and even if he did, he might not dance well.

Rumble—the roly-poly toy they were standing on started moving on its own. A huge tremor shook the four of them, making them sway precariously. As they tried to fly a little higher, they heard the cries of those ghosts, which made them dizzy.

When they landed on the roly-poly toy again, suddenly, the toy turned into a large stone ball and started rolling. Those standing on it could only keep running.

But if they continued like this, they would soon be exhausted, and they had to find a way out. Shi Yulu recalled the barbed wire from earlier, and combined it with what Cang Lun had said. She had some guesses in her mind.

Shi Yulu suggested, "If we have to do it his way, it seems we have no choice but to dance this dance."

Cang Lun, panting heavily, said, "He's trying to exhaust us both and make fun of us at the same time."

Shi Yulu frowned: "What kind of dance is he thinking of?"

This time, Canglun couldn't help but curse, "Whatever kind of dance it is, I'll be exhausted to death first!"

“Then…” Shi Yulu turned her head and looked sharply at Cang Lun.

Cang Lun quickly understood and nodded in tacit agreement.

Immediately, Shi Yulu conjured a magic rope and threw Canglun and Huaiwen into the air. She then flew up as well, opening her glass umbrella to shield Canglun and Huaiwen.

"You two, jump!"
