The plan to summon the gods had an unexpected twist 2

The plan to summon the gods had an unexpected twist 2

In an instant, the entire schoolroom erupted into chaos, with everyone and everything, including the demons, fleeing for their lives. The situation spiraled out of control, and they began to argue again, the one with the red eyes frantically trying to infect those around him.

The bitten people screamed pitifully. Some knelt on the ground, slumped down, while others, filled with resentment, went on to bite other people.

The person who originally had red-eyed spots emitted a dark purple aura that quickly filled the entire school. People fled in terror; those who didn't go far, and those who were slow, were swallowed up.

When they ran into the street, there were infected people and people fleeing for their lives. At first, passersby did not know what was going on and came to see what was happening. But the next second, they were entangled by that cloud of energy and died on the spot.

The cloud of energy seemed to have absorbed the life force of these people, growing stronger and stronger. It quickly spread along the main street, and in all the places covered by the cloud of energy, neither humans nor demons survived.

The gas cloud was highly poisonous, and Xuan Ye immediately conjured a thin, bubble-like barrier to protect Huai Wen from the poison. Jiang Liyan, on the other hand, was rescued by Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun.

Inside, the group watched as the infected people rushed towards them. Shi Yulu immediately took out the magical artifact given to her by the Heavenly Lord and threw it at them.

The magical artifact transformed into a giant snuff bottle, inhaling the cloud of air that was clinging to them. After a while, the people in the school were saved; they collapsed to the ground, like dying fish, taking their last breath.

After a while, they calmed down and fell asleep. The streets were in chaos, so they didn't stay in the school. After controlling the infected people and demons, they hurriedly ran into the streets.

The streets were filled with smoke and filth, and corpses lay strewn everywhere.

This was not what Huaiwen intended to achieve by holding this lecture; in fact, it led to an unexpected turn of events. At this moment, Huaiwen felt a pang of regret. If she hadn't held the lecture, would so many people have died, and would things have turned out differently?

"It's none of your business, Huaiwen."

Xuan Ye's words pulled Huai Wen back from her guilt. The self-reproach and regret in her eyes were heartbreaking to see. Xuan Ye then comforted her, saying, "It was bound to happen sooner or later."

Huaiwen shook her head slightly, her face pale, and said, "It was me... I didn't think of that."

"These things are beyond our control. You're not wrong."

Even though Xuan Ye's words made sense, Huai Wen still couldn't calm the regret in her heart. She wasn't the main culprit, but she seemed to be an accomplice.

Even though the discovery of the ghost soldiers was inevitable, she accelerated things, even faster than expected...

They are now trapped beneath this dark purple mass of energy. What should they do? They haven't even dealt with the Yin Soldiers yet, and these mutated, enhanced versions will be even harder to control.

This was the first time Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun had witnessed such a brutal scene; it was all completely unexpected. For a moment, they didn't know what to do.

Unexpected disaster struck at this very moment.

"Take out your snuff bottle and suck away these black wisps!" Jiang Liyan shouted.

Shi Yulu looked at the snuff bottle artifact in her hand and shook her head: "It can't handle so much. Besides, what was just put in is being purified."

Jiang Liyan scratched his cheek anxiously and asked, "What do we do now?!"

No one could answer him.

Nobody knows what to do now.

Dark purple wisps of energy swirled around the group, testing whether they could break through the protective barriers. Only around Xuan Ye did the yin energy dare not approach. Jiang Liyan wisely took Ce Mie, who had transformed into a bronze artifact, and hid behind Xuan Ye.

Suddenly, darkness fell, and a strange, strong wind blew up. Xuan Ye instinctively reached out to grab Huai Wen, but he missed.

He panicked. In the darkness, his pupils dilated, and he shouted, "Huaiwen! Where are you!"

Jiang Liyan squatted on the ground, tightly clutching the bronze artifact to prevent it from being blown away. Hearing Xuan Ye's shouts, he quickly asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong?"

Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun immediately tensed up, shouting and crowding together. Xuan Ye completely ignored them; after failing to catch Huai Wen immediately, he calmed down.

He held his breath for a moment, the sense of oneness and connection had not yet disappeared, and he found it.

Jiang Liyan suddenly spun around several times, complaining of dizziness, when Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun came to his side and scooped him up.

"call--"

The strong winds stopped, and it got light again.

However, Xuan Ye and Huai Wen disappeared.

The darkness was oppressive, and a powerful black whirlwind swept through before Huaiwen could react; she was carried away by the whirlwind.

No one heard her cries; she was caught in the whirlpool, with nowhere to escape.

She was forced to close her eyes, and those words pierced her mind once again, causing her to writhe in the air in pain, her screams becoming hoarse.

"You deserve to die."

"Killing you would be as easy as turning my hand."

"Only the winner is a saint."

These same few words again... Huaiwen felt like she was being squeezed by an invisible wall, and she felt like she couldn't breathe.

In that instant, Xuan Ye's cold and distinct face flashed into her mind. Huaiwen was still wondering if Xuan Ye had come to rescue her...

But the next instant, she saw Xuan Ye raise a knife and slash at her—

"Ah—" Huaiwen let out a terrible scream.

Those three sentences suddenly conjured up corresponding images.

Xuan Ye said from his superior position, "You deserve to die."

Xuan Ye held up the knife and said with contempt and mockery, "Killing you is as easy as turning my hand."

With blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, Xuan Ye said coldly and unintentionally, "Only the winner is a saint."

Everything came to life, and Huaiwen's taut nerves snapped in an instant. All the constraints and pain vanished in that instant, and she fainted and fell into a deep sleep. She drifted with the wind, like a fallen leaf, drifting and withering away.

"call out--"

Xuan Ye pierced through the black whirlwind. His reddened eyes betrayed his panic and fear. He quickly stretched out his hands, trying to catch Huai Wen, who was drifting away with the wind.

But a dark shadow darted across from above and swiftly snatched Huaiwen away.

"Bang—"

The black whirlwind was detonated at its center by Xuan Ye using his internal force, causing it to explode. Within a ten-mile radius, smoke and dust billowed, vegetation collapsed, and rivers flowed backward. Xuan Ye dared not linger for even a second and immediately gave chase.

They moved through the woods, the wind constantly swirling the leaves, and the person in front used the scattered trees to create layers of barriers to block Xuan Ye.

After sensing that Xuan Ye had dodged, the man conjured countless paper figures to envelop Xuan Ye. But soon, those paper figures exploded into pieces, scattering across the forest.

They soon emerged from the woods and were greeted by a wide lake. The man then carried Huaiwen across the lake, and a hundred-meter-high ice wall immediately rose behind him.

Xuan Ye did not stop thinking for a moment. When he got close to the hundred-meter-long ice wall, he took out his Pure Glass Blade. His eyes were as sharp as knives. With a heavy slash, the ice wall cracked from the center and turned into rain in an instant, pouring down.

With a single slash, a series of waves surged across the lake, erecting a tall, slender ice pillar. With another slash, the ice pillar surrounded the man, enveloping him layer upon layer.

The man held Huaiwen aloft with one hand, conjuring a sword in the other, and shattered the ice pillar before him in a few swift movements. With a flick of his sword, he unleashed a torrent of waves that relentlessly crashed against Xuan Ye. With a few more strokes, the water transformed into ice arrows, and with a gentle wave, a volley of arrows was launched, certain of victory.

The man grinned crookedly, thinking he could at least buy some time. But the instant he turned around with Huaiwen in his arms, the Jingli Blade was already at his neck.

He glanced down at the glass blade against his neck in alarm: "So fast."

The sound of the ice arrow exploding still echoed behind him when Xuan Yeren was already in front of him, his eyes filled with killing intent. Without hesitation, he grabbed the crystal blade and was about to twist it when the man suddenly threw Huaiwen away, diverting Xuan Yeren's attention and dodging the attack.

Otherwise, he wouldn't just have a bloodstain on his neck right now; he would be dead.

Huaiwen, like a withered flower, was caught in Xuan Ye's arms and held close. The bloodshot in his pupils spoke of his fear and unease. He leaned down and gently rubbed his forehead against Huaiwen, feeling Huaiwen's body temperature. Only when it was warm, not cold, did he breathe a slight sigh of relief.

After feeling the other party's burning gaze, Xuan Ye slowly raised his head. The sun shone on him, but he exuded a cold and sinister killing intent. He was as cold as ice and showed no sign of life.

The man was startled again, and he frowned slightly: "You want to kill me?"

Xuan Ye's lips curled into a cold smile, filled with disdain and mockery towards the man, yet he watched helplessly as he staged this farce: "Want to die?"

Upon hearing this, the man laughed and asked in return what he had that made Xuan Ye spare his life.

Xuan Ye disdained playing word games with him. If it weren't for Huai Wen, he would have killed him without hesitation. Finally, Xuan Ye coldly retorted, "What do you think makes you think you have any chance to breathe here?"

The man chuckled softly, snapped his fingers, and the remaining ice pillars behind him turned into raindrops and fell. All of this unmistakably revealed his identity—the Fallen God's Staff.

With a gentle expression, he quipped to himself, "Looks like I still have some value."

Xuan Ye ignored him, instead looking down to check on Huai Wen's condition. He saw Huai Wen nestled in his arms, sleeping peacefully like a kitten. His anger towards Fu Lin instantly subsided by half.

Undisguised worry flowed from Fu Lin's eyes as he looked at the sleeping Huai Wen and the loving Xuan Ye, his heart remaining heavy.

After a short while, Fu Lin asked in an extremely calm yet helpless voice, "You didn't come to me just for those ghost soldiers, did you?"

Xuan Ye didn't look at Fu Lin; he simply nodded and said a single word: "Yes."

Fu Lin hesitated for a moment, then said, "I can't help it."

Xuan Ye wasn't in a hurry to persuade him, and simply said, "It will happen sooner or later."

This time, Fulin fell silent.

He couldn't discern any anger or resentment in Xuan Ye's expression; he only saw Xuan Ye looking at Huai Wen with unwavering tenderness. Soon, Xuan Ye raised his head, meeting Fu Lin's gaze directly, and smiled slightly: "Let's go somewhere else. She's going to sleep."

Fu Lin's lips pursed into a straight line.

Later, they found a nearby family to stay with.

As the sun set and the moon rose and then fell, the first rays of sunlight streamed through the bamboo window, and Huaiwen slowly lifted her eyelids. In that instant, she caught the scent of osmanthus blossoms.

She got up, not knowing where she was, so she walked to the windowsill and peered out. There was a tall, imposing man, eight feet tall, wearing a crimson crown and robe with cloud patterns. He tilted his head slightly, reached out and pulled up a sprig of osmanthus. He drew closer, squinted his eyes, and inhaled the fragrance of the osmanthus.

The fragrance of flowers is so enticing, where else can one find such a scene?

The sweet fragrance of osmanthus blossoms wafted in on the breeze, captivating Huaiwen. Just as Huaiwen was immersed in this scene, the eight-foot-tall man turned to the side, smiled knowingly, and softly called out, "You're awake."

When Huaiwen was summoned, her soul snapped back to reality in an instant. She stood there stunned, realizing that such a gentle figure was actually from Xuan Ye.

The person who had made her dizzy smiled at her through the bamboo window, looking at her with a delighted expression. Suddenly, Huaiwen felt a surge of heartbeat she had never experienced before, pounding and pounding, which she tried to suppress but could not.

In the few steps Xuan Ye took towards her, her heart beat faster, and her already cold face suddenly turned even paler. In a flash of insight, she realized why her heart was racing.

Those were the people who wanted to kill her.
