Seeking a quilt in the illusory realm is fraught with hardship.

Seeking a quilt in the illusory realm is fraught with hardship.

Xuan Ye, who had taken in everything, glanced down at the little fox beside him, then looked into the distance. It was a peaceful and beautiful scene.

His gaze finally settled on Huaiwen, the past now a distant memory. Xuan Ye's thoughts were hidden, but as he turned his head, his eyes inadvertently met Bai Yuqi's.

Suspicion arose in their eyes.

Bai Yuqi waved his hand and said he was going to explore outside before leaving. Mo Heng and Rong Yun found an excuse to leave as well. Huai Wen and Xuan Ye were left behind.

"Ah Ling," Huaiwen finally spoke after a long pause, "Your senior brother knows you're a demon."

Xuan Ye lowered his chin: "You're pretty stupid to only realize this now."

Looking at Xuan Ye, who remained calm and composed, Huai Wen breathed a sigh of relief: "Don't be like that. Senior brother isn't stupid."

"That's true, those two priests are even dumber."

Huaiwen laughed: "They're not stupid. You're too clever, that's why you didn't see through it. But even my senior brother could see through it, so it's only a matter of time before they do too."

"So what if you see through me?" Xuan Ye waved his hand and smiled arrogantly. "No one here is my match. Of course—except for you."

Huaiwen joked, "Admit I'm better than you?"

Xuan Ye gave a faint "hmm" and then said, "You will definitely be mine in the end."

Huaiwen blushed, put her hands behind her back, walked to the cherry blossom tree, and said inexplicably, "How beautiful it would be to see the cherry blossoms on this tree in spring."

"Whoosh—" The wind blew by, and although the cherry blossoms did not bloom, the withered cherry leaves fell with a rustling sound.

Xuan Ye reached out, wanting the tree to bloom profusely, but found that he couldn't do it within the formation. Regret welled up in his heart, but as he stood not far away watching Huai Wen and the little fox chatting under the cherry blossom tree, his regret vanished in that instant.

At worst, he can just show it to her after they leave.

Sunset and sunrise, they had been trapped here for at least seven or eight days. That day, after discussing it, Mo Heng and Rong Yun came up with their first idea: to use the blood of the little foxes, while preserving their lives as much as possible, to find a way to break the formation.

The two first told Bai Yuqi about the plan. Previously, only the three of them knew about it. Bai Yuqi didn't object; he agreed, but he stipulated that Huaiwen shouldn't be told until everything was finalized.

The two priests asked why.

Bai Yuqi explained that Huaiwen was kind-hearted, but precisely because of this, she was too soft-hearted, which led to consequences. In the past, Huaiwen had let a harmful demon go because of her soft heart.

As it turned out, the demon was completely ungrateful to Huaiwen for giving him a chance to reform, and continued to do evil, even vowing to kill Huaiwen. Left with no other option, Bai Yuqi personally intervened and resolved the problem for Huaiwen.

"We'll explain it to A-Jun later."

The two priests suddenly thought of Xuan Ye. Last time, when Xuan Ye said he was hungry, Huai Wen stopped chasing the cat demon without hesitation and took him to a place with little food. It was clear that Huai Wen was indeed soft-hearted.

Rong Yun said, "If that's the case, then let's do as you say."

After finalizing their plan, the three began their operation. They first separated themselves under the pretext of searching for a way to break through the formation. Xuan Ye, Huai Wen, and Bai Yuqi were one group, while Mo Heng and Rong Yun were another.

Today, they went out in the same old group, only to return empty-handed, and now they want to break up the original plan and start anew.

Huaiwen and Moheng formed one group, while the remaining three formed another.

“I cannot agree to that,” Xuan Ye said coldly.

Rong Yun snorted, "This won't do, that won't do. Why don't you just stay here!"

Xuan Ye glanced at the four people in front of him, then nodded in agreement as if he had thought of something. Rong Yun and Bai Yuqi hadn't expected that they could separate Huai Wen and Xuan Ye so easily.

As they walked along the road, Mo Heng chatted idly with Huai Wen. Huai Wen glanced at Mo Heng's crooked hairstyle and teased, "Lord Mo Heng, it's only been a day, and your hairstyle has already collapsed again."

Mo Heng reached out and touched his hair, grinning sheepishly. "It's my fault for being a restless sleeper. But it was only this time, dressed as a woman, that I realized how difficult it is for women to go out. I guess people have too many expectations of women."

Huaiwen sighed, "Lord Moheng's ability to think this way is already better than many others. People have always been very demanding of women, even those who become immortals have to put in twice the effort."

"Ah-Jun!" Mo Heng suddenly shouted Huai Wen's name.

Huaiwen asked, "What?"

Mo Heng's eyes gleamed: "I told you, you will definitely attain immortality!"

“I know.” Huaiwen smiled brightly.

"ah--"

The screams rang out, and Huaiwen's smile vanished instantly. Mo Heng quickly realized that Rong Yun and Bai Yuqi had probably made their move. The two of them rushed towards the source of the screams.

When the two arrived at the scene, they saw Bai Yuqi lying on the ground, beaten down by Xuan Ye. Huaiwen landed beside Bai Yuqi in a flash, supporting him and looking at Xuan Ye incredulously: "A-Ling, what happened?"

"What happened?" Xuan Ye sneered, then mocked, "Ask him what he wants to do."

Following Xuan Ye's gesture of stepping aside, Huai Wen caught sight of the little fox lying dead behind him. Huai Wen immediately asked, "Senior Brother, what happened?"

Bai Yuqi didn't answer directly. He first looked at the bloodstains on his hand that had long since disappeared and chuckled. He slowly stood up and looked at Xuan Ye: "You'd know best if you asked him."

Mo Heng and Rong Yun exchanged a glance; the incident had taken them by surprise.

Huaiwen's face was as cold as ice, her eyes like a galaxy, her long, thick eyelashes fluttering, and her whole being exuded a chilling aura. With her red lips tightly closed, she merely exerted a little force with her right hand, and the little fox of death came to Huaiwen's side.

She crouched down and touched the little fox that had been restored to its original form. She thought that just a moment ago, the little fox had greeted her and waved goodbye, but now it was dead and bleeding in front of her.

Huaiwen's fingers traced a line, and her fingertips touched the blood on the little fox's fur, sending a wave of pain through her body. Her previously cold face suddenly contorted with terror and realization.

So that's the key to escaping.

Huaiwen slowly raised her head and looked at everyone here. Looking into everyone's eyes, she realized that she was the last person here who knew how to escape.

Mo Heng still couldn't bear it and asked first, "Why did you kill the little fox?"

Bai Yuqi said, "If we don't kill them, they won't escape."

"Then...then..." Mo Heng was anxious, but couldn't say anything, "Then...the little fox is dead, and we haven't gotten out yet..."

Bai Yuqi stared at Xuan Ye: "Because there is someone else who can help us leave this place."

"Who?!" Mo Heng asked anxiously.

Mo Heng followed Bai Yuqi's gaze and fixed his eyes on Xuan Ye. They then heard Bai Yuqi mockingly say, "Little fox's boss, you're probably not an old fox at all."

"Is he a fox?" Mo Heng exclaimed.

But he quickly realized what was happening and muttered to himself, "You are a fox."

Rong Yun finally understood and saw Xuan Ye clearly. He then turned to look at Huai Wen, and he was actually a little scared.

“Junior sister, foxes are masters of seduction. Don’t be fooled,” Bai Yuqi said. “If we want to escape from here, we must kill him.”

Xuan Ye sneered: "Kill me?"

Mo Heng shouted anxiously, "How can you kill people so casually? Even the little fox couldn't let us out, let alone kill people."

Bai Yuqi explained, "We are trapped in this formation, not in reality. Everyone you kill here is fake, even these little foxes are fake."

“But Ah Ling is real.”

Huaiwen slowly stood up and resolutely retorted, "Senior brother, A-Ling is not a bad person. He is a demon, but he would never be a demon who wants to harm us."

Bai Yuqi shouted, "Then tell me, how are we supposed to get out!"

Huaiwen remained silent; things had moved too quickly, and she hadn't found a way out. Xuan Ye looked at Huaiwen, then chuckled mockingly at Bai Yuqi: "Kill you, and we can get out too."

"You!" Bai Yuqi gritted his teeth in anger.

"Oh, so you can't kill me?" Xuan Ye continued to mock, "Someone like you who hasn't become an immortal in a hundred years must not have immortal bones or spirit, you will never become an immortal."

How could Bai Yuqi hold back? He drew his sword and thrust it directly at Xuan Ye. The two fought, and it was clear that Bai Yuqi was at a disadvantage. Rong Yun shouted, "Stop fighting! What's all this fuss about! Get down here and think of something!"

But no one listened to him. Rong Yun angrily rushed forward, brandishing his spear to try and separate the two. Seeing this, Mo Heng joined in.

Standing on the ground, Huaiwen looked coldly at the three people fighting above. She glanced at the dead little fox on the ground, and her heart sank.

She thought of that night, of Xuan Ye covered in blood. She had promised Xuan Ye that killing people and demons would not be done recklessly. So now, she had to make a decision on behalf of everyone above her.

Huaiwen stood still, opened her right arm, gripped the Mingjing Sword tightly in her hand, and chanted something. Suddenly, a golden-white light emanated from her body. The golden-white light grew stronger and stronger, larger and larger.

The four fighters sensed the change below and immediately stopped fighting, turning back. However, Huaiwen acted even faster, raising her sword and soaring into the sky, attempting to break through the formation.

Everyone noticed, and they turned around and followed Huaiwen, shouting for her to stop!

Bai Yuqi shouted, "Stop! Ah Jun!"

Rong Yun shouted, "Are you out of your mind?! Stop it!"

But the golden light continued to shoot out, and Huaiwen still drew his sword. In the instant of the confrontation, the powerful array seal backfired, causing all of them to feel a stinging pain all over their bodies, as if their skin was being torn apart.

Bleeding, Huaiwen felt a sense of powerlessness for some reason. She felt excruciating pain, yet her body felt light and unsteady, unable to hold onto the sword, and she swayed precariously.

The sound of the array tearing apart rang out, and it was as if a slit had been cut open in the sky, shimmering with multicolored light. Countless streams of black energy dispersed from that opening.

Everyone was shocked and couldn't understand why.

The next instant, the multicolored, shimmering opening widened, and five streams of black energy shot out like arrows. They were determined to strike the group.

It was the sound of shattering glass, and Pei Suqin's laughter. The black mist grew thicker and thicker, eventually dominating the entire sky.

With a few whooshing sounds, Huaiwen and his companions were struck by the black mist, letting out screams. Their skin began to crack, like sugar crumbs, falling off bit by bit.

His face gradually recovered, with faint black and purple patterns on it, which were the marks left by the black energy ball.

The formation was broken, black energy spread, and sounds echoed in the air.

"Lingshan, Lingshan, you deserve to die."

"Fulin, Fulin. You shall tear me to pieces."

"You lot, you are all nearing your end."
