The river surface shimmered, reflecting the bright moon hanging high in the sky.
Then, as a green leaf fell, it quickly scattered the reflections, creating a shallow ripple that spread outwards.
Li Tangyan rested her hands on the railing in front of her, her head hanging low, but the slight trembling that occasionally came from her shoulders betrayed her feelings at that moment.
Wen Zhaonian stood beside her, letting out a soft sigh that blended into the night. When he looked at Li Tangyan, his eyebrows lifted slightly in a faint arc.
There was an unspoken indulgence in her words: "Are you that happy?"
He was still asking about the brief incident that had just occurred on the court.
Upon hearing this, Li Tangyan turned to look at Wen Zhaonian, and as she looked up, a smile of expectation appeared on her face.
She nodded, her voice gentle: "Yes, I'm very happy."
Having said that, Li Tangyan took a step forward.
With a raised hand, she wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her face against Wen Zhaonian's chest.
Feeling the dull, resonant vibrations one after another, the corners of his lips unconsciously curved into a deeper smile.
"I'm so happy about winning over our lawyer, Wen..."
At this point, Wen Zhaonian heard her pause.
When he spoke again, his soft voice carried a hint of amusement.
"We've really struck gold!"
It was a very simple remark, even somewhat teasing, but the moment it came out of Li Tangyan's mouth, Wen Zhaonian felt as if a feather had brushed against his heart.
Soon, my heart began to race slightly out of control.
Once he realized this, Wen Zhaonian had already pulled Li Tangyan back slightly, creating some distance between them, before Li Tangyan could even notice the change.
Then, just as Li Tangyan was stunned by this sudden change, Wen Zhaonian's hand, which had been on her waist, moved to the back of her neck.
The knuckles were slightly cool, and when they pressed against the back of Li Tangyan's neck, she couldn't help but want to shrink back a little.
However, it was controlled by the force he applied.
Wen Zhaoqing gently pinched the soft flesh behind her neck, and as he felt the tremor in his fingers, he bent down slightly.
His dark eyes seemed to hold a captivating vortex that drew people in.
Then, he spoke slowly, his voice, full of texture and a little deep, asked, "You pursued me?"
"What else?" Li Tangyan blinked, showing great confidence in this matter.
Seeing this, Wen Zhaonian chuckled softly.
As he released her from the back of the neck, he raised his hand and ruffled Li Tangyan's hair.
Her voice was slow and gentle, her narrow eyes slightly upturned at the corners, and a hint of mockery flashed in her lighter pupils before she could even notice it: "Alright, then go ahead and pursue her."
“…”
That sounds really strange.
On the way home, Li Tangyan seemed to have something to say but kept hesitating.
One after another, they stole glances at us.
Seeing this, Wen Zhaonian no longer had any excuse to give her face and cooperate.
Finally, he stopped in his tracks.
At the same time, he gently pressed Li Tangyan's hand twice.
"Chestnut porridge, even when peeking, you don't know how to hide."
"It's too obvious."
"What do you want to say, hmm?"
In three sentences, he finally revealed her true thoughts.
Upon hearing this, Li Tangyan chuckled.
Then he put on a "you asked first, I didn't mean to imply it" look.
She reached out and grabbed the corner of his collar, then gently pulled it down.
When Wen Zhaonian bent down and leaned closer to her, she whispered in his ear.
With a hint of nervousness that she herself barely noticed, she lowered her voice and said, "Um...would you like to come home with me?"
"I'll take you to see Grandma."
