Extra Chapter Fourteen: Confession Wall

Li Tangyan's former university was celebrating its 70th anniversary, and family members were allowed to bring their children. So, on the day of the celebration, Wen Zhaonian was naturally "brought along" by her.

The campus was filled with a lively atmosphere.

Li Tangyan originally planned to take Wen Zhaonian to see Xing Mingming and the others first, but she suddenly stopped when they passed a certain place.

Immediately afterward, just as Wen Zhaonian turned his head to look at her, he saw Li Tangyan raise her hand and point to a lush green corner. The surrounding trees cast dappled shadows, and the sunlight shining into the lake not far away added a touch of tranquil beauty.

"Look, that used to be one of the popular spots on campus, the grove of trees. Back then, lots of young couples would run up there when they didn't have classes."

As she spoke, Li Tangyan raised her head again, her eyes sparkling, completely oblivious to the change in the expression of the person next to her: "The people are nice, the scenery is beautiful, we can really enjoy ourselves."

Wen Zhaonian held Li Tangyan's hand, looked at her smiling face, and raised his eyebrows.

Suddenly, he said, "So you've been here before, haven't you?"

"Who hasn't arrived yet..."

Upon hearing this, Li Tangyan instinctively thought that during her four years of university, she had explored every corner of the place.

But as the words were about to come out, it was as if he sensed something was amiss.

As she looked up, she indeed met Wen Zhaonian's intrigued gaze.

She held Wen Zhaonian's palm in her hand, leaned closer, and chuckled.

He looked knowing: "Hey, don't try to trick me."

"I loved studying the most when I was in school."

"Don't even mention that, there's not a single trace of my handwriting on the confession wall."

After saying that, she nodded again.

However, the next second, Li Tangyan felt a light pinch on her cheek.

Wen Zhaonian leaned forward slightly, and the familiar scent instantly filled his nostrils.

He smiled, his deliberately lowered voice sounding somewhat deep: "Oh? You even know about the confession wall."

"..."

The two were so close that Li Tangyan could easily feel the heat of Wen Zhaonian's breath on her ear when he spoke.

Instinctively, Li Tangyan held her breath.

After her face turned slightly red, she realized Wen Zhaonian's intention under his teasing gaze.

His face flushed instantly, and he immediately pushed the person in front of him away.

And his almost fleeing pace quickly left Wen Zhaonian behind.

She spoke, her voice slightly raised, as if trying to hide her increasingly rapid heartbeat: "Let's hurry, or we'll be late."

Since Xing Mingming had other things to do later, Li Tangyan and the others didn't stay there for too long. After saying goodbye to the other teachers, they left.

Afterwards, Li Tangyan took Wen Zhaonian around for a while. When it was time to leave, the sky was already tinged with a warm orange hue.

Are you hungry?

Wen Zhaonian watched as Li Tangyan subconsciously touched her stomach, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Hearing this, Li Tangyan didn't feel embarrassed at all. She nodded emphatically, and her eyes quickly curved into beautiful crescent shapes: "Hmm, shall we go eat Zhajiangmian later?"

"There's a really good restaurant around here, I've been wanting to take you there for a while now."

After saying that, Li Tangyan pulled Wen Zhaonian away.

Just before taking a step, a glance out of the corner of his eye seemed to remind him of something.

Then she pulled him and ran in another direction.

When Wen Zhaonian was led to the confession wall, Li Tangyan suddenly let go of his hand, took out two pens and a note from her bag, and handed one to him.

With a slight smile, he asked, "This is a golden opportunity; would you like to write one too?"

Li Tangyan's expectant gaze made it hard for anyone not to discern her thoughts.

So soon, when she met Wen Zhaonian's gaze, which seemed to see right through people, Li Tangyan couldn't help but look away.

With her eyes lowered, she muttered to herself, "Never mind, I'll just write it myself."

As soon as she finished speaking, Li Tangyan felt something being snatched from her hand.

She exclaimed "Eh!" and was about to look up when Wen Zhaonian's smiling voice slowly came from above: "Weren't you supposed to write?"

Five minutes later, the two figures in front of the confession wall had already turned around and walked further and further away.

Before leaving, Li Tangyan wanted to see what he had written, but Wen Zhaonian blindfolded her and took her away.

Ahead, Li Tangyan's persistent voice continued: "Wen Zhaonian, tell me what you wrote? Let's exchange them?"

However, the answer was always the same: "No."

Meanwhile, on the confession wall, a warm yellow ray of sunlight cast a soft shadow on the words on two brand-new sticky notes pasted side by side...

—Wen Zhaonian, meeting you is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.

—Chestnut Porridge, I love you.
