Chapter 12

Chapter 12

"Where did you go?"

The moonlight was dim and swaying, and the pale light flowed over the wide-open windowsill and into the room. Heizhong Wushi held the window frame with one hand and supported his half-bent body with the other to steady himself.

The dancing curtains rolled in the wind. In the center, a pair of purple-red blocks were abruptly embedded on the black tight-fitting short-sleeved top fastened by a belt.

At this moment, a faint light flashed in the purple-red, like a rare and cold natural crystal.

Are those... eyes? Kurozuka Kirishi only realized now that she had never seen Hoshina Soshiro open his eyes before. But now she saw them, but in this situation.

She didn't say anything, but just stepped into the house. Just as she was about to continue walking forward, she subconsciously stepped back because of someone suddenly approaching her in front of her, and her whole body hit the windowsill.

Hoshina Soshiro didn't expect her to react so violently, and quickly shouted, "Don't move! You might fall down."

The next moment, Heizhong Wushi fell backwards on his own initiative, his hair fluttering in the night wind. As the feeling of weightlessness came over him, his waist was firmly locked by an iron-like arm.

A strong force pulled her back fiercely, and her forehead hit his chin without any buffer.

"That hurts!" Hoshina Soshiro gasped, rubbing his chin with the palm of his free hand. "Why did you want to fall down like that?"

Kurozuka Kirishi was obviously stunned. She subconsciously reflected on whether she had really overexerted herself just now, but it was obvious that there was only one conclusion.

"It's a lie."

"Although it's certainly an exaggeration, what you said is also a bit hurtful." After holding her waist and bringing her down to the window safely, Hoshina Soshiro immediately let go of her hand: "But this is not the focus right now, Captain Kurozuka-"

The pupils of a cat-like beast were fixed on her, without a trace of his usual smile.

"Where did you go just now?"

Kurozuka Kirishi turned his head away, trying to avoid his gaze, but he never expected that the other party would not give him any room to escape.

The palm covered with thick calluses pressed firmly against her chin, the hardness of his knuckles firmly and unquestionably controlling her cheek, forcing her to turn her head and face him: "No, refusal is invalid."

Do I have to answer? Kurozuka Wushi lowered his head and said without hesitation, "I just wandered around outside for a while."

It's not that she can't lie. On the contrary, lying was what she was best at in the past. Her parents, teachers, peers, and almost everyone else had been deceived by her lies.

When encountering troubles or unfavorable things, her first reaction is to blurt out lies. Lies are always her first subconscious barrier.

It was for this reason that she had chosen to remain silent just now. There seemed to be a faint but stubborn voice in her heart resisting - she didn't want to, at least at this moment, not want to lie to him.

Hoshina Soshiro looked at her, not saying whether he believed her or not. He raised his hand, his fingertips felt slightly cool, and gently touched the side of her cheek: "Then why is there blood here?"

After he finished speaking, he used his fingertips to slowly and forcefully wipe away the small dark red blood stain, and his tone returned to normal.

"Forget it, let's clean up and have a good rest." He said, and didn't seem to plan to stay any longer. He raised his leg and walked towards the door. He took two steps, paused, and turned back: "And..."

Heizhong Wushi looked at him. The moonlight was like a misty belt, floating in the house, silently evoking the emotions hidden deep in people's hearts.

"I brought you some rice balls and put them on the counter. Bye!"

Coming here in the middle of the night... just to bring her food? Kurozuka Kirishi stood there blankly, watching his departing figure blend into the shadows of the corridor.

After a long while, she slowly moved to the bed and sat down as if being pulled by an invisible string.

After a brief hesitation, she reached out and opened the lid of the plain lunch box on the cabinet. The white rice was carefully shaped into a round triangle, decorated with simple seaweed.

The moment the lid is opened, the blocked hot air immediately rises up, carrying with it the simple warm fragrance of grains.

She had clearly... clearly "eaten", but why did she seem hungry again now?

A moist and slightly cool touch came from her cheek, winding down. She subconsciously raised her hand to wipe it, then looked down at the back of her hand.

Under the moonlight, the crystal water mark is flashing with fragile light.

On the second day, on the base playground,

"Big Boss—!" Seeing Kurozuka Kirishi's figure from afar, Itami Koji excitedly waved at her wildly: "Have you rested so soon?!"

But Kurozuka Kirishi didn't stop, his eyes fixed straight ahead, as if he hadn't heard or seen the enthusiastic greeting, and walked straight to a relatively empty area at the edge of the playground.

"Hiss! So cool and elegant!" Itami Koji's hand stopped in mid-air, and he touched the back of his head a little awkwardly.

Left aside, Fujimine Tsukasa rolled his eyes at him impatiently: "Do you still want to practice with me?"

"Yes, yes, yes! Xiao Sisi, I'm coming right over!"

On the other side, after being told that today's task was to practice in pairs, Heizhong Wushi suddenly became idle.

Thanks to her past image, everyone now thinks of her as an arrogant, cold, and weird person who disdains getting along with others. There is absolutely no one willing to team up with her, unless -

Her eyes fell on the hand that suddenly stretched out in front of her. The fingers were slender, the knuckles were distinct, and the flamboyant metal ring reflected a little cold light in the sunlight.

Looking up from that hand, I saw Sengoku Sakuya's signature short silver-gray hair and the striking black earrings on his earlobes. He had his usual casual yet provocative expression on his face.

He is also a weird guy, Kurozuka Kirishi silently completed the rest of the words in his heart.

Sengoku Sakuya came specifically to find Kurozuka Kirishi for sparring. He didn't really think too much about it. He seized every opportunity to get close to her for a simple and direct reason:

First, she is extremely strong and is an excellent sparring partner.

The second reason was his selfish motive... He wanted to ask her out on his day off!

"Photography...model?" Kurozuka Kirishi looked at the phone screen handed to him by Sengoku Sakuya, and there was a hint of surprise in his tone. The photography works displayed on the screen had a strong style.

Sengoku Sakuya's expression was unusually serious. He nodded.

"I've seen some of your previous work and I think you're a perfect match for the style I want to shoot next. This is my account. I've posted some of my work online."

Kurozuka Kirishi took the phone and swiped the screen with her fingertips. The use of light and shadow, the tension of the composition, and the collision of colors in the picture all showed a very high level of professionalism, which was in no way inferior to some of the top works she had seen in her previous life.

"By the way, I have a photo here that can give you that amount." Qianshi Sakuye pointed with his fingers and hit the vital point of Kurozuka Kirishi.

"Deal." She agreed without hesitation.
