Chapter 33

Chapter 33

The date place chosen by Hoshina Soshiro was the seaside, a place that was familiar yet a little strange to Kurozuka Kirishi.

She was familiar with it because in the past when she was short of money, the deep bottom of the sea was her temporary "working place".

She often dives into the sea in the dead of night, and with her extraordinary ability, she salvages some high-quality pearl oysters to exchange for money.

Strange, because in order not to attract any unnecessary attention, her actions are always accompanied by moonlight and early morning mist.

I have never set foot here in such a sunny and bustling day with a purely leisurely attitude.

The only exception was probably the time when I was invited by Sengoku Sakuya, but that was also for work purposes and cannot be considered the same.

In a restaurant with a great view by the sea, Kurozuka Kirishi rested his elbows on the table, his face supported by his palms, and stared out the window in a trance.

The sun dotted the sea surface with sparkling waves, like a handful of broken diamonds. The golden beach was full of tourists laughing and playing, full of fresh vitality.

"Let's go swimming later?" Hoshina Soshiro suggested casually while cutting the grilled fish on the plate.

Hearing this, Kurozuka Kirishi glanced at him strangely and refused decisively: "No, I don't have a swimsuit."

She hadn't thought about this at all when she went out, and she didn't want to get her clothes wet.

Then, she saw Hoshina Soshiro put down his knife and fork and placed the pink shopping bag in front of her.

"It's okay," he said with a smile, "I brought it."

Kurozuka Wushi: "..."

This guy, it turns out he has been planning this for a long time, right?

Standing in front of the public changing room, Kurozuka Kirishi reluctantly took the pink bag.

When she changed into her swimsuit, put on a thin sun-protective jacket and buttoned it up, and walked out of the locker room, she clearly saw that Soshiro Hoshina's eyes, who was waiting outside, lit up for a moment, and then a very subtle trace of... disappointment flashed across his eyes?

Heizhong Wushi looked down at his tightly covered coat, then looked up at him.

Didn't he buy this sun protection jacket to put inside? He wasn't happy about her wearing it?

She walked forward angrily, raised her hand and slapped Hoshina Soshiro's bare arm with a light slap, making a crisp sound.

Then he grabbed his wrist and walked straight towards a relatively secluded beach away from the crowd.

Hoshina Soshiro let her pull him and followed behind her. Seeing her hair fluttering in the sea breeze and her hurried steps, the smile on his face never faded.

Heizhong Wushi walked in front, taking in the surrounding scenery, completely unaware of the subtle movements of the people behind him.

Suddenly, a small wave hit the shore, and the cold sea water splashed her calf accurately.

Kurozuka Wushi turned around suddenly and saw that the culprit had quickly broken free from her hand and rushed into the knee-deep sea water. He even turned around and smiled provocatively at her.

"You... are so childish." But despite saying that, she still unbuttoned her sun-protective jacket.

She took off her coat, folded it carefully and placed it on the dry beach, then she followed him and walked step by step into the clear and cool sea water.

The sun-proof jacket is taken off, and the simple white swimsuit just outlines the girl's figure.

Her long black hair spread out on her smooth back, and the sunlight poured down, outlining a soft halo on top of her hair.

The pale skin that had not seen the sun for many years seemed to have its own soft glow under the scorching light, so delicate that it was a little dazzling.

Hoshina Soshiro watched her walk towards him, and for a moment he was somewhat distracted. His eyes only reflected her appearance, but he forgot to react.

Kurozuka Kirishi took advantage of his moment of distraction, quickly leaned over, scooped up a pool of clear sea water with both hands, and quickly and accurately splashed it towards his face.

“Crash—”

Hoshina Soshiro was drenched by the sea water, and water drops dripped down his hair and cheeks.

The hair style that he had carefully groomed before going out collapsed instantly, and the wet hair stuck to his forehead and cheeks pitifully. With his stunned expression, he looked like a cat that was suddenly thrown into the water and was a little confused.

Seeing his rare embarrassed look, Heizhong Wushi finally couldn't help laughing, his eyebrows curved, and his eyes seemed to shine in the sun.

However, she laughed too early, forgetting that a drowning cat would also fight back.

The "drowned cat" hugged her and rubbed its wet head against her neck and shoulders, soaking her.

Kurozuka Kirishi only found it funny to see such a rogue behavior. She raised her hand and tried to push him away, but found that she couldn't move him at all, and the slippery sea water made it difficult to struggle.

"……Come……"

An extremely faint voice, as if it penetrated the skull directly and resounded deep in the mind, rang out without any warning.

Heizhong Wushi's body suddenly stiffened, and the smile on his face froze instantly.

The voice had an ethereal echo, as if it came from a very far away place, and it seemed like a whisper against her eardrum.

"Come……"

"Back...here..."

She looked down and saw that the source of the sound seemed to be the blue and seemingly calm sea.

"What's wrong?" Hoshina Soshiro immediately noticed something was wrong with the person in his arms.

Her body went from being soft and relaxed to being stiff, and the hand holding his shoulder tightened unconsciously, her fingertips even digging into his skin slightly.

Kurozuka Kirishi didn't answer. Her pupils shrank slightly, and her gaze was cast towards the deeper sea in the distance. The calling voice was cold and familiar, and it strangely overlapped with the feeling of endless falling in her dream.

Then, several broken and strange images suddenly pierced into her mind like an electric current. The images flashed by, but brought a strong sense of dizziness and palpitations.

Kurozuka Kirishi's face turned pale instantly, and his breathing became faster.

"Are you okay?" Hoshina Soshiro's voice was filled with obvious worry. He carefully put her down, held her shoulders with both hands, and looked down into her eyes: "Are you feeling unwell..."

Heizhong Wushi suddenly came back to his senses and subconsciously raised his hand to press his solar plexus.

She closed her eyes tightly, and when she opened them again, she forced herself to suppress the strange feeling, but a trace of fear still remained deep in her eyes.

"It's okay." She avoided Hoshina Soshiro's gaze, her voice a little hoarse. She turned her head to look towards the deep sea where the call came from, her brows slightly furrowed. "Maybe... it's because of too much sunlight. I feel a little dizzy."

This excuse was obviously a bit lame, but Kurozuka Kirishi didn't care about that. All her thoughts were tightly grasped by the strange images surging in her mind.

An uneasy and throbbing feeling from the depths of her soul left her no time to consider a more reasonable explanation.

She was completely immersed in her own thoughts, so she didn't notice that the smile on Hoshina Soshiro's face faded the moment she looked away.

A brief silence spread in the sea breeze, with only the sound of waves crashing on the beach continuing. At this moment, Heizhong Wushi suddenly spoke:

"Let's go back."
