After changing into Agu's clothes, Zaun casually lit a flame, burning Agu's corpse to ashes.
He then stepped out of the room and found several demon guards waiting there, clearly all of whom were subordinates of the man named Agu.
"Sir, the other commanders have already gone." Several guards said with some worry, obviously afraid that he would be late and be blamed by the Lord of Slaughter, and then they, as his underlings, would also suffer.
Zu An looked into the distance and saw figures rushing towards the imperial mausoleum from all directions. He couldn't help but sigh inwardly that the demon world was indeed powerful now, and the strength of these leaders was not weak, with several of them being particularly strong.
Given the current situation, if he were to run away, he would definitely become the target of public criticism, so he decided to go and see what the situation was like first.
Soon he mingled with a group of demons and arrived at the imperial mausoleum. The mausoleum gate had already been opened, and many statues of the demon ancestors along the way had been destroyed, leaving only the magnificent demon god statue at the very top.
Returning to this familiar place, Zaun has made a different discovery: the statue of the demon god exudes a unique aura, appearing majestic and powerful.
Beneath the statue is a huge stone pedestal, still bearing traces of a menacing aura, clearly left by someone who frequently sat on it.
He glanced around and saw that there were nearly a hundred demons in the entire hall, and Agu was one of the weaker ones.
The first few were clearly powerful demons, each stronger than an Earth Immortal.
Not long after, a figure emerged from the inner room. He was exceptionally burly, and what impressed me most were his eyebrows, which were angled at a 45-degree angle as if they were about to pierce the sky, and his sharp eyes that swept around the room.
"Greetings, Lord!" A group of demons bowed in greeting.
Zuan secretly probed his opponent. The current Lord of Slaughter was indeed stronger than the one who had been suppressed for thousands of years in later generations. The fierce aura on his body enveloped the entire hall as if it were a tangible thing. He could even feel the bodies of the old men next to him trembling involuntarily, obviously because they were naturally afraid of this kind of pressure.
"Strong, too strong." Zu An dared not use his divine sense to investigate the other party's specific cultivation level, lest he be detected. He could only roughly estimate that the other party's current strength was obviously above his own, and also three points stronger than the Demon Lord he had seen before.
I wonder what method that demon lord in history used to deal with such a powerful being.
"I wonder why our lord has summoned us here so urgently?" asked the great demon at the front.
"There has been a change in the sect," the Lord of Slaughter said coldly.
The demons were all startled upon hearing this, and many began to whisper among themselves, clearly trying to guess what those four words meant.
"Not long ago, King Morgad of the Inhumans suffered a complete defeat against the Sea Clan," the Lord of Slaughter said calmly.
"What!" Many demons in the arena were shocked, while others exchanged knowing glances with amusement.
"I was shocked when I heard the news, but what shocked me even more was..." The Lord of Slaughter scanned the entire room, his gaze as icy as a biting wind, causing everyone to tremble involuntarily, "Why did such a huge event happen, and no one reported it to me at all!"
His voice was like the roar of a prehistoric beast, and many of the demons present instantly exploded into a cloud of blood mist.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Many demons in the hall turned into fireworks one after another. Even the most powerful demon at the front screamed and stood up to try to escape, but he couldn't suppress the destructive power within him and exploded with a loud bang.
The blood and flesh splattered directly onto the demons nearby. The remaining demons trembled, both frightened and bewildered, and dared not make the slightest move, for fear of attracting the attention of the Lord of Slaughter and being blown into pieces of flesh themselves.
Zuan felt a chill run down his spine. He had only intended to make a brief appearance and leave quietly once things calmed down, but little did he know that the Lord of Slaughter would begin slaughtering his subordinates the moment they met.
Fortunately, he did not appear to be the target of the attack.
After a round of fireworks, nearly a third of the demons in the entire hall were dead. The remaining demons were all trembling, looking like they wanted to resist but didn't dare to.
"Since we're going to die anyway, we might as well take a gamble."
"The Lord of Slaughter is too powerful. Those who go first are definitely doomed. Let the others go first."
"What on earth is going on? Has the lord gone mad?"
All the demons had their own thoughts, but fortunately the Lord of Slaughter spoke up in time: "Everyone, don't panic. I was just punishing a traitor. You are all loyal to me, and I will remember that and will not treat you unfairly."
"traitor?"
Many demons were bewildered. The demon world was now at its zenith, and it seemed poised to conquer this cultivation world. Whom could they turn to now if they betrayed it?
A few clever people, with a quick thought, had already guessed what was going on.
At this moment, the Lord of Slaughter sneered: "The Lord of Demons and Monsters is truly skilled; he has even bribed so many of my subordinates."
This statement caused an uproar.
It should be noted that in recent years, the Lord of Slaughter has been immersed in the secrets of the Demon Clan's royal tomb and has not been involved in worldly affairs, leaving all military and political affairs to the Lord of Demons.
The Lord of Demons was originally highly respected for his strength and prowess in battle, and in recent years, with his absolute power, his prestige has rivaled that of the Lord of Slaughter.
Unexpectedly, the two of them still ended up having a conflict.
"Your subordinates swear to serve you to the death!" all the remaining demons swore in unison.
They were originally the direct descendants of the Lord of Slaughter, and only by following the Lord of Slaughter could they maximize their benefits. Even if they surrendered to the Lord of Demons, the Lord of Demons would not trust them, much less give them important positions.
