"The Duke is back! The Duke is back!" When Gong Pan escorted Zu An and Yu Yanluo back to the Duke's mansion, the maids and servants were first taken aback, and then extremely shocked.
Then they excitedly spread the news throughout the mansion, and in no time, the news of Jian Yanyou's return spread far and wide.
Jian Taiding, who was recuperating in his bedroom, was furious when he heard the commotion outside. He hurriedly called his trusted aides to come in: "Who is being so rude and shouting outside?"
The guard replied, "Your Highness, the maids and servants in the manor seem to be in an uproar over something. I will go and check it out immediately."
Just then, another person rushed over, shouting as he ran, "Second Master, Second Master, something bad has happened!"
Upon hearing his words, Jian Taiding's face immediately darkened: "Slap yourself twenty times, you unlucky bastard who can't speak properly."
The man then realized his slip of the tongue, broke out in a cold sweat, and hurriedly knelt on the ground to apologize, while repeatedly slapping his own ears.
Hearing the loud slapping sounds from the other party, Jian Taiding's expression softened slightly: "Alright, what's going on that makes you so flustered?"
"Master... is back!" the subordinate said tremblingly.
Jian Taiding's face turned cold: "Are you tired of living? How dare you joke with me like this?"
"Your subordinate wouldn't dare," the guard hurriedly explained. "Gong Pan escorted the master back, along with Madam Yu. Many people in the manor saw it, which is why the maids and servants are cheering and making such a fuss."
"What!" Jian Taiding felt his blood boil, and his wounds burst open again, gushing out blood that instantly stained his bandages red.
He felt dizzy and his body swayed before he fell backward.
Fortunately, his personal guards reacted quickly and caught him before he fell to the ground. The group frantically searched for a doctor while simultaneously channeling their vital energy to stop the bleeding.
Jian Taiding was, after all, a grandmaster. After catching his breath, he opened his eyes slightly, but his face was much paler than usual: "Why didn't you say something so important earlier!"
He kicked the guard who came to deliver the message and hurriedly walked outside. Although he was seriously injured, he could not suppress his doubts and curiosity.
How could that person possibly come back!
The guard who was kicked coughed up blood several times. Even though Jian Taiding was injured, he was still a grandmaster, and the force of his kick in anger was considerable.
He felt wronged. "I was in a hurry to say it, but you were the one who told me not to say it."
Watching Jian Taiding's departing figure, a hint of resentment crept into his eyes.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Jian Taiding, escorted by his entourage, sped along at breakneck speed. Before long, he saw a group of maids and servants surrounding a few people, talking to them eagerly.
Remembering his subordinate's report, he roared, "Who dares to impersonate my...Big Brother?"
His usual authority was still evident, and upon hearing his angry shout, the maids and servants scattered in fear.
This suddenly revealed the people inside, and upon seeing their appearances, Jian Taiding's voice abruptly stopped.
He froze on the spot.
In that instant, his mind went blank, and he began to question the meaning of life.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?
The other person really is his older brother!
In an instant, regret, fear, shock, and a whole host of other emotions surged into his heart, leaving him completely stunned.
“My dear second brother, you didn’t expect to see me, did you?” Zu’an looked at him and said with a double meaning.
He and Yu Yanluo had rehearsed today's scene many times in the past few days, so their performance was truly lifelike.
Jian Taiding's expression changed as expected, because he knew what had happened to Jian Yanyou, and these words seemed to be a declaration of revenge.
I did that to my older brother, so of course he can't forgive me.
The thought of his opponent's cultivation level far exceeding his own made him tremble involuntarily.
Just then, a calm voice came from the side: "Nonsense, you can't possibly be the Duke!"
The crowd looked in the direction of the sound and saw an old man in neat clothes standing not far away with several followers, coldly staring in the direction of Zu'an.
The others in the room were all in an uproar, because the person who came was Uncle Ming, the butler of the Duke's mansion!
He was the Duke's right-hand man, helping the Duke handle all kinds of affairs inside and outside the mansion. He was truly a highly respected figure and could also be said to be the person who knew the Duke best.
Even he said this person was fake, so everyone in the room subconsciously believed it to some extent, and they all moved away from Zu An, looking at him with wary eyes.
Zu An frowned slightly: "Uncle Ming, it hasn't been that long, and you don't even recognize me anymore?"
Uncle Ming looked him up and down: "You do act very much like the Duke, but you have one major flaw, which is your cultivation level. The Duke has strength comparable to a Grandmaster. Although you are not weak, you are far inferior to the Duke."
Jian Taiding finally came to his senses. That's right, he knew best what had happened to Jian Yanyou, so how could he possibly be here?
That despicable imposter!
So he chimed in, "That's right! Men, seize this freak of hell who's come from who-knows-where!"
"yes!"
His trusted guards immediately stepped forward and rushed towards the other party.
Upon seeing this, Gong Pan hurriedly drew his sword and stood guard in front of Zu An.
The guards recognized Gong Pan, and for a moment there was a stalemate.
At this moment, Zu An gave Jian Taiding a meaningful look: "Second brother, are you trying to kill me to silence me?"
Knowing full well that the other party was fake, Jian Taiding almost spat out a mouthful of blood when he heard the other party address him like that: "Hmph, who is your second brother? Why do you have to pretend to be my eldest brother? First of all, your cultivation level doesn't match up."
