Chapter 1258 The Truth (shuhaige.net)

Compared to Zuan's solemn expression, Fireworks' face was full of smiles: "Oh dear, shouldn't we be happy to see each other again after so long?"

Zu An said in a deep voice, "To save you, countless people have perished along the way. How can I be happy?"

"Those people all had ulterior motives. They were simply not as skilled as the others, so they should accept their losses." Fireworks didn't care at all.

Zuan frowned. Those guests did indeed have their own purposes, but these words still made him uncomfortable.

Sure enough, Isabella couldn't help but get angry: "At least Uncle Alfred had no other purpose, yet he died trying to save you, and you're still making sarcastic remarks here."

She rarely argued with anyone, but she was genuinely angry at this moment.

Seeing that the joke had gone a bit too far, Fireworks quickly said, "Isabella, don't worry, your old butler might not be dead."

"What?" Isabella wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, looking at her with some confusion.

“Those people are just bound by the demonic spider; we won’t kill them for now,” Fireworks replied.

"Why?" Isabella's face paled as she recalled the scene of the fortune teller being easily killed by the demonic spider.

"Because you escaped, the Spiders would be more useful keeping them as hostages than killing them," Fireworks explained.

"That ruthless monster would actually consider these things?" Although Isabella was emotionally hoping for it to be true, her reason instinctively made her doubt it.

"My lady, do you really think that a being that powerful would be a mindless monster who only knows how to kill?" Fireworks sighed.

Isabella was taken aback, realizing that the demonic spider was the most powerful monster she had ever seen. Such a being was renowned even in all the worlds, and it was impossible for it to be without intelligence.

Fireworks then looked at Zu An: "Brother Zu, I'm so touched that you were willing to take such a big risk to save me."

Hearing her sweet, coquettish voice, Zuan withdrew his hand: "Is that sea monster in cahoots with you?"

At first, he didn't have any doubts, but after calming down, he realized that there were indeed too many suspicious points in the whole matter.

It's strange that such a huge sea monster could appear silently in the near sea, and that the powerful figures of the Dreamland didn't give it any warning.

Moreover, the sea monster would even take people hostage, and Fireworks wasn't some delicate woman, yet she was so easily captured...

There were so many unusual things about this whole thing, and he had actually thought through a lot of things along the way.

However, thinking back to how the two of them got along, he felt that the other party probably wouldn't intentionally harm him, so he decided to continue to observe the situation.

Who would have thought that it would be so dangerous down there?

"That sea monster is indeed my friend. It did all this to lure you out. Otherwise, if you had stayed in that Dream Tournament, you would probably be a walking corpse by now," Fireworks snorted.

"What?" Isabella was startled.

"You mean the Dream Tournament is a conspiracy?" she asked hastily.

"Of course, that was just to collect the souls of the participants. What's laughable is that so many powerful beings across the myriad realms, knowing there might be danger, still couldn't resist their greed." Fireworks sneered repeatedly.

Isabella looked at Zaun in shock, only to find him calm, as if he had expected it.

“That’s not right. The Dream Tournament is held once every thousand years and is one of the most famous events in the myriad realms. If there were a problem, how could the various forces not know about it?” Isabella asked, puzzled.

"The Dream Tournament was real before, but things have changed in the last thousand years. Do you know what my true identity is?" Fireworks looked somewhat wistful, as if she had remembered something.

Isabella instinctively looked towards Zaun, her friend.

Zaun had only met Yan Hua on the spaceship and knew that she was a follower of the goddess of beauty.

In fact, he wasn't even sure if this detail, or even her name, was real or fake.

"Didn't the people from Dreamland tell you that the young lady's coming-of-age ceremony was about to be held, and the Dream Tournament would be held soon after?" Fireworks had a hint of self-deprecation on her face.

Zaun and Isabella were startled: "Could you be the young lady of the Dreamland?"

“That’s right, it’s me,” Fireworks smiled bitterly, “but in this Dreamland now, there are no young ladies left…”

"If you are the young lady of the Dreamland, then who is that person in the hotel?" Isabella felt that all of this was so bizarre.

“Of course he’s an imposter!” Fireworks said coldly. “Not just me, everyone else in Dreamland is an imposter.”

"Does Sister Yani know about this? She's been incredibly brave and has helped us several times along the way. As the captain of the guard, she certainly wouldn't stand idly by," Isabella asked.

“Yani…” Fireworks smiled coldly and glanced at Zuan. “He probably already knows what happened, otherwise, given his personality, why would he abandon such a beautiful woman and escape alone just now?”

Isabella looked at Zaun with confusion. Zaun said in a deep voice, "Yani does have a problem."

The god of memory had granted him the eye of truth, and upon returning to the ship, he was astonished to discover that Yani and the other crew members were all imposters.

At the time, he was unaware of the other party's purpose, which is why he remained silent.

However, he didn't completely trust Yan Hua, and he didn't reveal all the information: "Wait, you said you are the young lady of the Dreamland, but the Dreamland had problems a thousand years ago, and these past few days have been your coming-of-age ceremony. The age doesn't match up."

Fireworks seemed to be smiling but not smiling: "How old do you think I am?"
