Chapter 1464 Aren't you still here?

"I got it by chance from Black Tooth Ancient." Zuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he found that even the White Lotus Sacred Flame could not burn the key, so he put it away.

It turns out it's just so useful here. It's all such a coincidence, as if some unseen hand was orchestrating everything.

"The Black Tooth family are indeed a bunch of traitors!" The Demon Emperor's face was grim. The palace treasury was originally entrusted to the Black Tooth family for guarding, but the things they were guarding ended up in Black Tooth Gu's possession. What else could this be but embezzlement?

Prince Jinwu's heart pounded wildly. The Black Tooth family was his uncle's family, and could be said to be his most steadfast ally and backer.

From his perspective, it's alright if the Black Tooth family members are a little greedy; compared to their help, this loss is nothing.

Besides, my uncle's family isn't an outsider; we shouldn't let the good stuff go to outsiders.

But from the Demon Emperor's perspective, it's different. He's not so friendly with the Black Tooth family; this behavior is clearly disloyal.

Startled, Crown Prince Jinwu hurriedly changed the subject, angrily rebuking Zu'an: "No wonder the case of the disappearance of Black Tooth Gu in the royal court could not be solved. It turns out you murdered him!"

The Golden Crow Prince's anger level increased by 110...

Zuan said calmly, "You can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. Be careful, or I'll tell you you're slandering me."

"Heh, the key is clearly on Black Tooth Gu, so how could it be with you?" Prince Golden Crow sneered.

"Speaking of which, if this key can go from your royal treasury to Black Tooth's place, why can't it be here with me?" Zuan said with a half-smile. Anyway, it was Black Tooth who tried to kill him back then, and he was just acting in self-defense. But it was impossible for him to admit it himself.

Of course, the Demon Emperor and the others must know that they killed him. Anyway, they've already offended him to death, so what's one more debt than another? As long as they don't leave any obvious evidence against him, that's fine.

Prince Jinwu was about to speak further when the Demon Emperor stopped him: "Let's set aside the past for now; the key now is to open this gate."

With a flick of his finger, Zuan inserted the key directly into the central circular hole.

He didn't rush to open the door first; on the contrary, opening the door in this situation might even be dangerous.

The Demon Emperor, skilled and daring, was not afraid. He held the end of the key and slowly turned it.

When it was turned to a certain angle, there was a crisp click, and the four gems that had been there before began to shine again. The surrounding lines lit up again like an electrical circuit, and finally converged into four beams of light, which were injected into the key in the center.

The key, which was originally pitch black, now emitted a dazzling array of colors. These lights then scattered and disappeared into the depths of the tomb, following the patterns on the gate.

Then a series of rumbling sounds came, as if the entire tomb had awakened.

Zuan pondered to himself, why would such a special key end up in Jinwu's hands?

It must have been in ancient times that the Golden Crow clan passed down their lineage from generation to generation.

But Yu the Great lived after Hou Yi shot down the suns...

The more I thought about it, the more confused I became, so I simply stopped trying and focused on the front door.

A shower of loose sand and gravel fell, splitting the entire gate in two and slowly opening it inwards, revealing the deep tomb passage.

The Demon Emperor, his face full of eagerness, strode in.

Prince Jinwu hurriedly followed. In this secret realm where terrifying beings roamed everywhere, he felt safer by his father's side.

Wu Liang looked conflicted. The Demon Emperor was distracted by what was inside and hadn't noticed him, making it the perfect opportunity to escape.

Having spent his life tomb raiding and treasure hunting, how could he resist the temptation of this ancient tomb before him?

Gritting his teeth, he followed: "So be it!"

Zuan and his group exchanged glances and followed behind at a leisurely pace.

I originally thought it would be dark inside, and I was even planning to make a torch with fire, but it turned out to be very bright inside.

The walls were covered with lamp-like objects, and there were various circuit-like patterns around them. It seemed that the light from the four gems and the key had flowed here, providing lighting energy for the entire underground palace.

Zuan was secretly alarmed, wondering why something made in ancient times had such a strong sense of technology.

Could there really have been aliens back then? No wonder we never found the ruins of the Xia Dynasty in our past lives...

The group was equally amazed by the tomb. As they went deeper, they encountered many traps, but with a tomb raiding expert like Wu Liang by their side, they managed to overcome them all without any real danger.

They can even find hidden mechanisms and open passages in places where there are no roads.

"That fatso is quite a talent," Zu An thought to himself, thinking that he should invite him to join him next time there's an ancient tomb; the success rate would increase significantly.

And so, when Wu Liang activated another mechanism and opened a large door, the group of people arrived at a spacious tomb chamber.

"This should be the main burial chamber." Wu Liang swallowed hard and looked at the center, where there was a rectangular stone platform covered with runes, which seemed to be some kind of seal.

Zuan noticed two enormous statues standing on either side of the room, each several meters tall. One statue had the body of a giant snake but nine heads.

At first glance, I mistook it for the Nine-Headed Serpent, but upon closer inspection, I noticed the difference.

Although both have nine heads, the Nine-Headed Serpent has nine snake heads, while this statue has nine human heads, resembling an ancient demon god, exuding an inexplicable sense of awe and oppression.

The other statue resembles a giant bear, is entirely vermilion, and has a ferocious expression, making it look less like a respectable figure.

Zaun wondered whether the two statues were suppressing the central stone platform or guarding something.

At this moment, the Demon Emperor squeezed Danzhu in his hand: "Didn't you say that Emperor Yao knew about the elixir of immortality? If there really was an elixir of immortality, why would he be lying in a coffin?"

The rectangular platform in the middle looked a lot like a coffin, and the thought that Emperor Yao might be lying inside made the Demon Emperor somewhat mentally unstable.

His lifespan is coming to an end, and what he desires most is an elixir of immortality and a higher level of power, but at present, it seems that neither is possible.

Zuan's heart skipped a beat. Had the Demon Emperor also obtained information about the Elixir of Immortality?

Well, if this ghost really is Emperor Yao's son, then it's not surprising that he and his father, who lived in ancient times, would know about it.

At this moment, Danzhu hurriedly said, "He was sealed... sealed here. He must not be dead. He should know about the elixir of immortality."

Upon hearing this, the Demon Emperor gazed at the rectangular stone platform, seemingly somewhat tempted.

Zuan hurriedly stepped in to stop him: "If an ancient emperor is really sealed inside, can you defeat him after he's unsealed?"

What if a terrifying being is unleashed, wiping out everyone in the arena?

The Demon Emperor hesitated. He had fought the Four Fiends several times and was seriously injured. Although the Golden Crow Sacred Flame had helped him recover, it had its limits and he was no longer at his peak.

However, his desire for immortality made him determined: "Isn't there still you?"

Zuan: "..."
