Chapter 159 Don't Come Over

A long spear was stuck in the spot where he had just been standing.

There were even spear throwers!

Zaun had already noticed nine spear warriors appearing not far away. These zombies, in terms of both physique and equipment, were clearly much more elite than the axe warriors from before.

The spear-wielding warriors moved in perfect unison, holding their shields horizontally in front of them and pointing their spears outwards, before slowly advancing towards Zaun.

There were only nine zombies, but their synchronized steps and the momentum of their charge made them seem like a massive army.

Zaun's expression changed. These guys were well-organized, unlike the scattered axe warriors before, which forced him to retreat continuously and made it impossible for him to dodge.

Retreating all the way, he was soon forced into a corner. Zuan knew that retreating any further would be dangerous, so he seized an opportunity and leaped over their heads with a light touch of his toes.

After all, this is their only flaw when you look at them from all angles.

Just as they jumped into the air, three spearmen also leaped up, and several spears came at them from all directions.

Zuan: "#¥%!"

This thing can even jump, and it's so agile when it jumps!

Those clumsy axe warriors had given him a bad impression, which led to his current predicament.

Unable to gain leverage while in mid-air, it was too late to dodge. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, raising his wrist and firing a hidden arrow that struck a spearman directly.

The spearman shuddered, then fell straight to the ground, twitched a few times, and then died.

While marveling at the precision of the arrows fired by these troops, Zuan drew his Death Knife and blocked a spear. Using the recoil, he shifted a foot to the side and seized the opportunity to sneak into the arms of another spearman.

The fatal dagger grazed its body, the friction between it and the bone producing a harsh, unpleasant sound.

They thought the spearman was doomed, but he acted as if nothing had happened, sweeping his spear towards Chu Chuyan.

Seeing the spear hurtling towards her, a force that Chu Chuyan would normally disregard, now proved enough to shatter her to pieces. With a sigh, she resignedly closed her eyes.

Zuan then realized that these guys were undead creatures, and his Death Knife was probably useless against them.

Seeing that Chu Chuyan was about to die, Zu An roared and forcefully turned around, using his back to block the opponent's sweeping spear.

Pfft~

With a surge of qi and blood, Zu An disregarded his injuries and used the force to fly out, breaking free from the encirclement of the spear formation.

Feeling a few drops of warm liquid fall on her face, Chu Chuyan opened her eyes and saw a trace of blood oozing from the corner of Zu An's mouth. With her former cultivation level, how could she not tell what had just happened? Her long eyelashes trembled slightly.

"Miss!"

Several green vines flew through the air, smashing the axe-wielding warriors who were about to chop down the two men to pieces.

Zu An looked back and saw that Qiao Xueying had appeared not far away, her flying hair whipping at the zombies; on the other side, Shi Kun and his fourth-rank subordinate were also fighting with a group of zombie warriors.

"What are you looking at? I didn't come here to save you." Noticing Zu An's gaze, Qiao Xueying glared back at him fiercely.

Zuan smiled slightly: "I know you're embarrassed to admit that you don't want me to die. Don't worry, I understand."

Chu Chuyan: "..."

This guy is really narcissistic, and he actually flirted with other women right in front of me. Something just feels off.

Qiao Xueying noticed that his words had drawn Shi Kun's frequent attention, and she was both ashamed and angry: "What nonsense are you talking about? I'll kill you right now."

Anger level from Qiao Xueying +134!

As he spoke, a vine wrapped around the other person.

Zu An was prepared and dodged with a laugh. Qiao Xueying wanted to chase after him, but was stopped by the warriors who surrounded her again, so she could only glare at him resentfully.

Seeing Zu'an embracing his dream girl and flirting with his maid, Shi Kun, who was not far away, was displeased. Looking at the axe-wielding warriors rushing forward one after another, he sneered, "How dare you block my way! You'd all die!"

A violent wind blade swirled around him, and wherever it passed, the axe-wielding warriors were shredded to pieces.

No matter how high their defense is, once these zombies are cut into pieces, they are naturally beyond dead.

Witnessing all this, the pair of spearmen who had been chasing Zaun turned their spears around and attacked Shi Kun. The wind blades in the air left only shallow marks on their shields before dissipating.

As they approached him in formation with their shields erected, Shi Kun's face darkened. He swept his sword horizontally, unleashing a sword aura several meters long that instantly cleaved the shields in the hands of the spearmen in two.

Looking at the shields that were now only half intact, the spearmen suddenly opened their mouths and let out a shrill roar.

"Oh no, they're calling for their companions!" Qiao Xueying's expression changed.

Meanwhile, Zuan took advantage of the chaos to continue running inwards. He originally wanted to take the opportunity to run back, but Shi Kun was guarding the way he came, so he had no choice but to leave first and hope that these zombie warriors and Shi Kun would fight each other to the death.

Seeing him run away, Shi Kun panicked and hurriedly chased after him. He knew that this was no place to stay for long. If that guy went any deeper, even he couldn't guarantee his own safety.

However, the remaining spearmen blocked his way. Just as he was getting annoyed, he suddenly noticed that Zuan was retreating step by step, and couldn't help but laugh out loud: "You brat, why aren't you running away anymore?"

Zuan stared into the depths of the cave, swallowing hard. "Brother Hibi, how many spearmen can you handle?"

Shi Kun was taken aback. Suddenly, a series of neat footsteps that struck his heart came from the tunnel. Looking closely, he saw rows of spear-wielding warriors pouring in from another large door.

Shi Kun's expression changed, and he couldn't help but curse, "You bastard surnamed Zu, don't you dare come any closer!"
