Chapter 175 Good Brother

The two men peeked out and saw a troop of cavalry charging menacingly toward them. They were moving so fast that they estimated it wouldn't be long before they reached their trench.

Given the impact of the cavalry, it's obvious that the two would be instantly smashed into a bloody pulp.

Zuan instinctively shone his flashlight at the charging cavalry, but the cavalrymen took out a round shield to block it. He then changed the target of his flashlight, wanting to shoot at the horses they were riding, but to his astonishment, he found that the horses had strips of cloth tied to their eyes!

A thousand grass mud horses galloped through his mind. Brother, you are terracotta warriors, made of mud. Where did you get the strips of cloth?

Complaints aside, the immediate crisis still needs to be addressed.

With a thought, he picked up the dagger of certain death and used the Sunflower Illusion technique to continuously dig out one tiny hole after another on the land in front of him.

He had to admit that the academy's thirteen basic sword techniques were truly a return to simplicity; the "pick" move, in particular, was so effective at digging holes that it was like digging a pit with every strike.

If the sages who created this sword technique in the academy knew that their disciples were using it to dig pits, they would probably be so angry that they would jump out of their coffins.

At this moment, Zuan had no time to consider this; he was only glad that the Death Dagger was hard and sharp, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to dig so quickly.

Qiao Xueying, standing behind him, was completely bewildered. She didn't understand what he was trying to do by digging these holes. Did he really think he could stop the aggressive cavalry with these small holes?

In the past, she would have definitely disregarded it, but after experiencing all that had happened, she hesitated for a moment, but still tried her best to mobilize the remaining Yuan energy, reached out and pressed her hand on the ground. Soon, vines broke through the soil, leaving round holes in the ground.

Noticing the cavalry getting closer, Zu An hurriedly pulled Qiao Xueying back.

"Wouldn't it be too late to run now?" A doubt arose in Qiao Xueying's mind.

What puzzled her even more was that the other party stopped after running a distance of several dozen feet.

Zuan turned around and stared intently at the galloping cavalry, tightening his grip on the dagger in his hand, his whole being resembling a leopard poised to pounce.

Qiao Xueying was increasingly puzzled. Was he planning to charge head-on into the cavalry? Wasn't that suicidal?

But what happened next almost made her jaw drop. Suddenly, many of the horses of the cavalry at the front of the line were startled and fell to the ground, throwing their riders hard onto the ground. Because they were terracotta figures, many of them were smashed to pieces.

Because the horsemen in front fell to the ground and became obstacles, the charging cavalry behind could not stop at all. Like a snowball rolling downhill, more and more cavalrymen fell over.

At this moment, Zu'an made his move. He rushed towards the chaotic group of cavalry with a dagger, finishing off those who were still alive and stabbing those who were still on their horses.

Even though these cavalrymen had lost their impact and their power was greatly reduced, they were still not someone that could shake them with their tall and strong figures. However, Zuan had that magical flashlight in his hand, which he shone around them, causing the remaining cavalrymen to be overwhelmed and become increasingly confused.

In this chaotic situation, Zuan's Sunflower Illusionary Movement Technique could be used to its fullest extent. He moved through the cavalry with unpredictable movements, unleashing the "Evil-Repelling Sword Technique" and almost stabbing a terracotta warrior in the head with a single strike.

Through this period of fighting, he has figured out these guys' weakness: their brains!

In about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, all the hundreds of cavalrymen were reduced to dust, half of them trampled to death, and the other half were killed by him in the chaos.

"Is this guy really a third-rank assassin?" Looking at Zu An's ghostly figure on the battlefield, Qiao Xueying felt a chill run down her spine. This guy's cultivation level was not high, but he was more like an assassin than the most powerful assassin she had ever seen. His moves were concise and sharp, with no unnecessary moves, and every time he made a move, he could take a life.

Zuan was panting heavily, clearly having suffered considerable losses from rapidly slaughtering all the cavalry.

At this moment, the main force of the Terracotta Army finally reacted. The archers at the rear of the formation, who had already drawn their bows and prepared their arrows, no longer had to worry about shooting their comrades. Another wave of sharp arrows came.

"Quickly hide in the pit!" Qiao Xueying rushed over to pull Zu An away, worried that he would be too exhausted to move.

Who knew that Zaun would throw a shield at her instead: "With a shield, why are you running?"

In ancient warfare, the best weapon to defend against archers was the shield. Before, there was no other way but to hastily dig trenches. But just now, those cavalrymen were carrying shields almost one by one to protect themselves from the light of his flashlight. Now, shields are readily available on the battlefield.

The two quickly erected several shields to protect themselves, and the rain of arrows struck them without causing them any harm.

Zu An also took the opportunity to look at Qiao Xueying: "You clearly have a shield, yet you still dragged me into the trench. Confess honestly, did you get a taste of the sweetness and deliberately want me to hug you?"

"Want to hug you, my foot!" Qiao Xueying kicked him, her face flushed. It was all his fault for always making such messes, which had caught her completely off guard. "By the way, why did those charging cavalrymen fall over when you just dug some random round holes?"

Zuan shook his head: "It's a secret. I'll tell you unless you call me 'good brother'."

Qiao Xueying couldn't help but grit her teeth. This guy was always so annoying. However, she thought of the hundreds of terracotta warriors over there, and that she was injured and might not survive. She didn't want to die a confused ghost, so she couldn't suppress her curiosity and muttered softly, "Okay...okay...brother...brother."
