Zuan was startled: "Why do you say that?"
“I can’t quite put my finger on it, it’s just a feeling,” Pei Mianman said, frowning. “Several times when I left your room, I noticed that he seemed to be looking in my direction.”
“Once or twice could be a coincidence, but every time I feel like I’m being watched, so I don’t think it can be a coincidence. That person must have something wrong with me.”
Zu An thought to himself that a woman's sixth sense was indeed powerful; she could even detect this. One must know that Old Man Mi's cultivation level was many levels higher than hers.
He was about to praise her when a thought suddenly struck him, and he beckoned her over: "Come here."
Pei Mianman blushed, and instead of moving closer, she leaned back: "What are you going to do?"
Zuan smiled and said, "I have something on my mind that I want to tell you."
Pei Mianman's heart skipped a beat, and a lot of thoughts flashed through her mind in an instant, but in the end, she still moved closer as if possessed.
“Not close enough.” Zuan said as he pulled her hand toward him.
Caught off guard, Pei Mianman suddenly sat in his lap, feeling his lips touch her ear. She was both ashamed and angry, and was about to lash out when she suddenly heard him say in her ear, "Don't move. The walls have ears, that's why I'm talking to you like this."
Pei Mianman was a smart woman. Thinking of the old man Mi she had just mentioned, she calmed down instantly.
Zuan then leaned close to her ear and said, "You need to be careful of him in the future; you're no match for him."
The warm breath from the other person's mouth made Pei Mianman tense up instantly. Just as she was about to sit up straight, she was stunned when she heard what the other person said. She was about to ask a question when the other person grabbed her waist and she fell onto the bed involuntarily.
Zuan then leaned down as if to kiss her lips.
Of course, if you look closely from the side, there is still an inch between their lips.
However, this distance was enough for both sides to sense each other's presence.
Seeing that the other party did not kiss her, the faint black flames that were pulsating on Pei Mianman's fingertips disappeared again, and she just stared at him blankly.
"He's observing from outside, don't show it." Zu An whispered in her ear. Old Man Mi's cultivation was too high, he didn't even dare to whisper from a distance, for fear of being intercepted.
Pei Mianman was startled. She glanced out the window without making a sound and saw a small shadow on the window. She guessed that the other person hadn't noticed the moonlight moving, which was why their shadow was cast on the window.
“So you knew him.” Pei Mianman understood immediately. She reacted quickly, reaching out to put her hands on his neck, as if it were the most natural reaction between lovers.
Zu An thought to himself that he couldn't take it anymore. Didn't this woman know how voluptuous she was? Being held by her like this, he felt like he couldn't breathe.
Of course, he wouldn't be foolish enough to object: "I think you're overthinking it. Do you go to your best friend's husband's room every day and become suspicious of everyone?"
Hearing him deliberately raise his voice, Pei Mianman realized what he meant and immediately replied, "Probably so. The Chu family's defenses have become increasingly tight lately. Now, I feel like they've discovered me whenever I run into someone."
"Hahaha, that's the beauty of stealing!" Zuan commented.
Pei Mianman was speechless for a moment, thinking to herself that this guy was getting way too into character.
But stealing your best friend's husband... huh, that sounds kind of interesting.
The two then engaged in a normal sweet talk between a young couple. Old Man Mi listened outside the window for a while, but found it boring and left.
As he left, he was filled with doubt. Why was Zuan so good at charming women when he was clearly no good?
In terms of spiritual practice, I am more than qualified to be his teacher, but in this aspect, I am far inferior to him.
She was thinking about finding an opportunity to ask him about it, but she was too embarrassed to do so.
Later, he simply gave up on the idea. He figured he could just let the woman have her first and he could just enjoy her later. He didn't need to learn how to pursue women at all.
Thinking this way, his mood instantly brightened.
The two chatted for a while in the room. Pei Mianman noticed that the shadow by the window was gone and couldn't help but say, "Is it okay now?"
"Let's wait a bit longer. His cultivation level is too high; it's difficult for us to detect his presence," Zu'an replied.
Pei Mianman's expression was a half-smile: "Do you really think that way, or are you just trying to take this opportunity to openly suppress me?"
Zuan couldn't help but laugh: "Both, I suppose."
You know what, it's actually quite comfortable.
Pei Mianman: "..."
She hadn't expected the other person to admit it so readily, and for a moment she didn't know what to say.
Zuan knew that this couldn't go on, so he pretended to go to the toilet, ran outside to pee, and only went back inside after confirming that Old Man Mi had left.
"Finally gone." Zu An breathed a sigh of relief. After all, being watched by a ninth-rank big shot was really stressful.
"How high is his cultivation level?" Pei Mianman was still shaken. If the other party hadn't reminded her, she wouldn't have been able to sense that person's presence at all.
This is the first time I've ever felt this way in my life.
"Very high." Thinking of Mi Li's evaluation back then, Zu An's expression also became somewhat solemn. In fact, he could sense that Old Man Mi's cultivation was not higher than Pei Mianman's, but rather that he had the cheat code of the Rage Value System.
He had just received a burst of anger points from Mi Laofa, and only then did he realize that the other party must have overheard their conversation, so he quickly and cleverly dealt with the other party.
Old Man Mi was too arrogant about his cultivation level and did not believe that the other party could discover him. Therefore, he thought that what the two said was sincere and naturally had no doubts.
