Chapter 409 You Will Have a Bloody Disaster the Day After Tomorrow

At the summit of Yuquan Mountain, a group of people stared at the woman in black stockings with strange expressions. Jiang Luofu, however, remained calm: "The Chief Priest is my master. In my heart, the title of Chief Priest is like that of a teacher or a father. If others want to become Chief Priest, isn't it just that they want me to call them 'Dad'?"

Zuan Waterfall Sweat: "Where else could it be equivalent to this?"

This interruption immediately eased the tense atmosphere considerably.

Jiang Luofu smiled and said, "Grandpa, although we are acquaintances, I'm just stating the facts. I feel that Senior Brother is more deserving of the position of Chief Priest. You won't blame me, will you?"

Zuan sighed: "So I don't understand why the old chief priest dumped this mess on me. I'm young and not very capable..."

“Mr. Zu, you must not underestimate yourself.” Just then, an old farmer in a T-shirt walked over. His body was tanned dark by the sun, and he had a small hoe hanging from his waist. But no one would really think he was an old farmer.

"Seventh Senior Brother!" The group bowed in greeting. The person before them was Wang Shuyang, the seventh disciple of the Chief Instructor.

Wang Weiyang nodded slightly, then his gaze fell on Zu An: "Although you are young, you are very knowledgeable, especially in agriculture, which amazes me. The concept of hybrid rice you mentioned last time was enlightening. After two years of experimentation, it has gradually made progress. In the foreseeable future, it will surely greatly increase crop yields. I wonder how many people it will be able to feed. Based on this alone, you deserve to be the new chief priest."

Hei Baizi also smiled and said, "Mr. Zu's skill in chess is also quite good."

The invention of Gomoku (Five in a Row) initially amazed him. Go has always had a high barrier to entry, making it difficult to promote among the general public. Hei Baizi didn't want his beloved game to become a niche pastime, but he couldn't think of a solution for the time being.

When Zuan invented Gomoku, he was overjoyed. Although after studying it thoroughly, he found that the game was extremely simple and could not be compared with Go at all, its advantage lay in its simplicity. If it could be widely promoted among the common people, he could take this opportunity to attract more people to learn Go.

So even though he later realized that Zuan wasn't the chess master he had imagined, he was still very grateful to him.

"I never expected Mr. Zu to be so knowledgeable. I admire his expertise in alchemy and puppetry." Just then, a series of clicking sounds came, and a huge creature slowly emerged from the distant steps.

A thin, hunched man sat on the mechanical puppet's shoulder; he was Shen Xuzi, the fourth disciple of the old master alchemist.

The mechanical puppet reached out, took a wheelchair off its back, and gently placed him on it.

Shen Xuzi wheeled himself to Zu An and grasped his hand tightly: "By the way, Mr. Zu, there are still many things I don't understand about the steam engine and that Gundam you mentioned last time. Could you please enlighten me on some of my doubts?"

Zu An's expression was strange. In the past, he had only mentioned it casually, and he really didn't know the specific details. If the other party pressed him for answers, he would definitely be exposed. But now that he had learned the "Baopu Zhenjing" (True Scripture of Embracing Simplicity), which contained detailed content on weapon crafting, he could discuss some specific details with him.

Qi Yaoguang blinked. Her senior brothers were usually all very eccentric, so why were they all so enthusiastic towards Zu An today, as if they were seeing their own father?

“Brother Zu!” Xie Daoyun’s joyful voice came from the side, pointing to a gaunt old man beside her. “This is my teacher. Teacher, this is Brother Zu whom I’ve mentioned to you.”

"Greetings, Master Yan." Zu An dared not underestimate him. The great formation on Purple Mountain was this man's doing, and even Zhao Hao was banished to another dimension.

"Young master, you flatter me. Besides, you are the new chief priest. I should be the one bowing to you," Yan Xiangu said with a smile, while secretly observing him. He was equally shocked that he could not see through the young man's true nature.

Qi Yaoguang muttered, "Senior Brother, I think it's more the people's choice for you to take over as the new Priest. This kid seems to be younger than me. How could he possibly guide my future cultivation?"

This time, Jiang Luofu did not echo him. Instead, she secretly observed everyone. Originally, she was worried that Zu An would be embarrassed, since these fellow disciples all had their eyelids practically on top of their heads.

So she deliberately stood up to oppose the other party's appointment, since they were old acquaintances, and she could easily control the degree of opposition so as not to embarrass him too much.

To his utter surprise, aside from Qi Yaoguang, so many of his fellow disciples actually supported Zu'an.

Yan Xiangu smiled and said, "Even if I were the chief priest, I wouldn't be able to guide your cultivation. I certainly don't know as much about divination and astrology as you do about Zi Wei Dou Shu."

Qi Yaoguang muttered, "Even so, you can still point us in other directions, right?"

Shen Xuzi then spoke up, "Senior Brother is indeed very strong, but he is only strong in the Way of Runes, and it is difficult for him to help us in our respective fields. Master Zu is different; he can genuinely help us in our respective fields."

Wang Shuyang and the others nodded in agreement.

"Maybe it's just a coincidence. How old is he? How could he know so much?" Qi Yaoguang was very skeptical. "If he's so capable, then impress me with Zi Wei Dou Shu and astrological divination."

Before Zu An could answer, Xie Daoyun interjected, "Brother Zu is indeed very good at fortune telling, why don't you tell her a fortune?"

Her proud tone made it sound as if she were promoting her lover.

The others were shocked. Zu An actually knew this?

Qi Yaoguang asked with some suspicion, "You know about this too?"

"I know a little bit." Seeing Xie Daoyun's expectant look, Zu An didn't want to embarrass her.
