Sang Qian suddenly turned around, wondering if he had been too angry and hadn't noticed someone approaching because he was so focused on cursing Zu An.
However, after seeing what the other person looked like, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
The other party was a middle-aged Taoist nun, dressed in an apricot-yellow Taoist robe, holding a snow-white whisk in her hand.
However, calling her middle-aged seems a bit of an exaggeration. There are no signs of aging on her face, but she is definitely not a young girl either. The mature temperament and charm she exudes when she stands there casually are not something a young girl can fake.
She wasn't particularly beautiful, at least not as pretty as Pei Mianman and Zheng Dan, but she wasn't ugly either. With her graceful figure, she could be considered a beauty overall.
"Is this fairy talking to me?" Sang Qian's tone was somewhat polite, after all, men subconsciously want to maintain a good image in front of beautiful women.
"Is there someone else here?" The Taoist nun chuckled softly, her laughter carrying a strange undertone.
Sang Qian's heart skipped a beat. He subconsciously felt that the Taoist nun's laughter was somewhat undignified, but it couldn't be called frivolous either. It was a feeling that he found hard to describe.
It should be called charm; the unique charm she possessed was something those young girls didn't have, giving him an unprecedented experience.
"Does the fairy maiden also know Zu'an?" However, Sang Qian was not completely blinded by greed and became somewhat wary.
"I don't know him, but I just heard you scolding him so harshly, so I figured he must not be a good person," the nun said.
Sang Qian was overjoyed. You see, everyone had been swaying around that guy Zu An all this time. Pei Mianman liked him, his fiancée Zheng Dan liked him, and what he couldn't stand the most was that his father and sister were also speaking up for him in various ways.
In this environment, Sang Qian was almost going crazy. Now that he finally heard someone speak up for him, he was so moved that he almost cried.
"The fairy is absolutely right! That guy Zu'an is a real scoundrel!" Sang Qian cursed angrily.
"What did he do to make you so angry?" the nun asked with a half-smile. "Did he steal your wife?"
"No, not at all!" Sang Qian's face turned bright red. Although Zheng Dan and Zu An seemed to be somewhat close, it shouldn't have gone that far. Even if it were true, what man would be willing to admit such a shameful thing? "In short, that person is just really annoying."
The nun laughed and said, "Since you hate him so much, then go and kill him. Cursing him behind his back is not the behavior of a man."
Sang Qian's face flushed: "Who said I didn't? I just failed!"
Unwilling to be further questioned, he hurriedly asked, "How could the fairy maiden be in a place like this? You know, these mountains are very dangerous, with ferocious beasts roaming everywhere. Even if she is human, she could very well be a bandit or robber."
The Taoist nun sighed softly, "People like us need to travel far to temper our minds, so naturally we have to go deep into the mountains. So far, we've been lucky and haven't encountered any ferocious beasts. As for bandits and robbers, I wonder if you, young master, are one?"
Sang Qian puffed out his chest and hurriedly said, "Of course not. I am actually an official appointed by the imperial court, specifically responsible for apprehending thieves."
"Oh?" A strange light flashed in the nun's eyes. "So you're a general. My apologies for not recognizing you."
Hearing the praise, Sang Qian felt a surge of joy. Suddenly, he thought the woman in front of him was much more lovable. Zheng Dan and Pei Mianman could all go to hell.
His hormones were raging, and he hurriedly said, "Where are you going, Fairy? If you need me, I can protect you."
"You'll protect me?" A strange look appeared in the nun's eyes.
"Of course, don't let my current appearance fool you. I'm actually a sixth-rank expert. Dealing with those mountain bandits and all sorts of ferocious beasts is a piece of cake for me." Sang Qian kept praising himself, trying to leave the other party with an impression of his strength in order to win their favor.
"Sixth rank! That's really amazing!" The Daoist nun said, covering her mouth in surprise.
"Actually, it's not that bad. My father is even more powerful. He's a peak eighth-rank expert." Sang Qian originally wanted to boast about being a ninth-rank expert, but he didn't really have the confidence to back it up.
The nun smiled and said, "Young master, you are indeed from a family with a profound learning tradition."
Sang Qian looked smug. Over the years, he had captivated countless young ladies from prominent families with his illustrious family background and his own status, let alone a Taoist nun who was used to a life of hardship: "You haven't said where you're going yet. If it's on your way, I can give you a ride."
He had already made up his mind that no matter where the other person said their destination was, he would say it was on his way.
Then, traveling with her along the way, it wouldn't be difficult for him to win her heart with his charm and methods.
As for his father and sister, he didn't want to go back and suffer any more humiliation. He could always meet up with them in the capital later.
He subconsciously glanced at the other person; despite wearing a loose Taoist robe, he could still sense the graceful figure beneath.
Although this woman wasn't as beautiful as Pei Mianman or Zheng Dan, she had a certain seductive charm that made him instinctively want to pin her down and ravage her.
As he imagined various scenes, his heart warmed up.
The nun seemed to sense the intensity of his gaze, glanced at him subconsciously, and then said, "I'm going to that Wang Family Town up ahead. Is it on your way, young master?"
“I just came from there. I know this place like the back of my hand.” Sang Qian’s eyes lit up.
"Oh? Wouldn't that make you, young master, make another trip?" The nun said somewhat embarrassedly.
“It’s alright, it’s not far anyway.” However, Sang Qian suddenly thought of those people from the Demonic Sect, and a look of hesitation appeared on his face. “But I advise you, Fairy, not to go there for the time being. The demonic sect’s evil people are lurking there, and they may not have left yet.”
