“This feeling…” Zuan frowned slightly, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.
He put away the Wind and Fire Wheels and entered the ice cave.
He circulated his inner energy, quickly dispelling the chill.
He explored further and found that it was larger than he had imagined. Compared to the dilapidated temple at Jiuchijian, this place was perhaps hidden deep within an ice cave and was much more intact.
It looks a lot like a celestial altar used by humans or demons for sacrificial rites.
Along a straight avenue stood two rows of enormous ice sculptures depicting figures. Each sculpture was unique in appearance and form, and was decorated with intricate runes and patterns, exuding an air of inexplicable holiness.
These should be some of the gods that the demon race has worshipped throughout history. If it were before, he would have regarded these as myths and legends, but now, having witnessed all sorts of strange and unusual things, for a moment, he even had a doubt that these gods had ever really existed...
As he continued walking, he discovered some ancient murals on the walls. He looked at them along the way and they seemed to record heroic stories of the ancient demon race fighting against those extraterrestrial demons.
Suddenly his expression hardened as he noticed some collapsed and broken mechanisms ahead.
Sensing the lingering traces of formations in the environment, Zu An felt a sense of foreboding.
There must have been some kind of shielding or protective formation here before, which is why it has remained undiscovered.
He originally thought that he was able to locate this place so easily because of the map provided by the demon race's higher-ups and his powerful divine sense.
Only now did he realize that it was this unnatural leakage of vital energy that had attracted him here.
Before coming here, I was worried that there would be some problems to solve, but now I find that there are no problems at all, as someone has already gotten there first.
He dared not delay any longer and sped inside.
Soon they arrived at a narrow passageway, from which a strange, low hum could be faintly heard.
"Could there be some monster hiding inside?" Zuan frowned slightly as he looked at the dark tunnel.
However, with his current cultivation level, he was naturally not afraid of any monsters. He took out a talisman from his pocket and threw it out. Soon, the talisman illuminated the area ahead like a flare.
The passageway appears to be several hundred meters long, but it is not very wide, barely allowing one person to enter. If you encounter a large creature, you would probably have to climb in.
However, what caught his attention most were the many messy, deep marks on the surrounding walls, as if they had been cleaved by sharp swords.
Zuan reached out and touched it, but couldn't sense any sword or saber intent.
Fearing that someone might get there first, he didn't have time to think it over and decided to go in and take a look first.
After walking only a few dozen meters, the deep roar ahead grew louder and louder.
A pale yellow, ethereal bell-shaped shadow lit up around Zuan, and several defensive formations were also set up at the same time.
Just then, the low roar suddenly became extremely sharp.
Looking at the surging air mass ahead, he finally understood what that low roar was.
wind!
An incredibly violent wind!
Many wind-type cultivators in this world, besides being incredibly fast, possess a common skill: wind blades, which are as sharp and unstoppable as the sword energy of a master swordsman.
But all the wind-elemental masters in this world combined probably couldn't compare to the wind before them.
The defensive array surrounding Zuan shattered almost instantly. The Pure Bell held on for a few breaths before it too began to produce countless fragments, and then it shattered completely.
Fortunately, Zuan reacted quickly enough and immediately used the Gluttonous Devouring Heaven Technique, becoming like a black hole to absorb and transform the raging winds, thus escaping a calamity.
After passing through the narrow passage, Zu'an noticed that it connected to a void. It must have been the clever way the place was arranged to bring some turbulent winds and calamities from the universe here, which explained its power.
Let alone a grandmaster, even an ordinary earth immortal would probably have their flesh and blood completely stripped away in a short time if they didn't have a magic weapon to protect them.
Speaking of Mikado Baiqing, that woman is really cunning. She actually set up such a dangerous trap. Isn't she afraid that the descendants of the demon race will be blown into skeletons as soon as they arrive here?
But then I thought, they must have come here to seal away the demons from beyond the heavens. If their cultivation level is too low, obtaining that divine artifact would be useless, and it might even cause the artifact to be lost outside...
Having figured this out, Zu'an felt a little relieved, though he felt that the woman was perhaps a little too rational and unapproachable.
However, this terrifying cosmic storm has one advantage: he was originally worried that someone would get their hands on the Soul-Hooking Jade first, but now it seems that's unlikely. Even he almost perished in it, so he doesn't believe that anyone else in the world can get through here.
Unfortunately, his smile soon froze on his face, because soon they arrived at the core altar, where a staircase extended downwards from the ground. This was clearly a hidden mechanism that wouldn't appear on its own unless triggered.
He hurried inside and soon stopped. There was a secret chamber beneath the altar, and a stone box above it, which had now been opened and was empty.
Zu An's face was very ugly. This was obviously the place where the Soul-Hooking Jade was stored, and it had indeed been taken away by some mysterious person.
If it were a human, that would be fine, but if it were taken away by a demon, the consequences would be unimaginable.
He was still somewhat unwilling to give up and searched the area several times, but in the end he could only admit with despair that the Soul-Hooking Jade was indeed no longer there.
Who on earth has the ability to break through Mikado Baiqing's various arrangements and survive that terrifying cosmic storm?
His gaze suddenly fell on the stone box, and he gently touched it with his fingers. Although the surrounding area was covered in ice and snow, there was a spot on the box that was much colder than the rest of the box, and he could even see the faint traces of frost.
