So he moved, reaching out and grabbing the knife handle, the tip of the blade less than an inch from his vital parts.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief, his mind racing as he tried to figure out what to do next. Zu'an wouldn't let him off the hook. Did he really have to kneel down and lick his shoes?
Before Zu'an could speak, the Crown Prince interrupted, "Shi Kun, what are you doing? Why did you suddenly move? All the apples on your body have fallen to the ground. Do you think I can't shoot accurately?"
Shi Kun was practically cursing. "You fucking shot! You were so bad at aiming! I almost became Eunuch Shi!"
Just as he was about to speak, the door next to him was suddenly pushed open, and a sharp shout came: "Are you trying to coerce the Crown Prince into making trouble again?!"
A beautiful woman stood at the door, glaring angrily at everyone in the room. She was none other than the Crown Princess Bi Linglong, whom she had met once before.
Bi Linglong was born into the Bi family, a top family in the Great Zhou Dynasty. She was beautiful and capable, and always proud and arrogant. Unlike ordinary women, she was young but had extraordinary insight and a strong ambition.
She had already married the crown prince and was destined to become empress, which was the most satisfying outcome, but unfortunately, her husband turned out to be an idiot.
Every time she saw her husband's foolish appearance, she felt angry, but what could she do since she was already married? She could only try her best to urge the Crown Prince to study Buddhism. If he wasn't good at cultivation, then he could learn more about government affairs. Anyway, once he reached his position, he wouldn't need to do things personally anymore.
Even if one can't learn how to handle government affairs, it would be good if one could at least learn to be somewhat like a normal person.
But her foolish husband never gave her any peace of mind. Yesterday, his talking to the frogs by the pond became the laughing stock of all the major families in the capital. Today, she had the Crown Prince's tutor give him some homework to reflect on his actions, but when she heard from the maid that the Crown Prince seemed to be playing games with several servants in his study.
This was outrageous! She instantly flew into a rage, storming over and shoving the door open without even knocking.
She couldn't reprimand the Crown Prince in public, so she vented her anger on the others. She had made up her mind to teach the people around the Crown Prince a lesson today, and see who would dare to follow the Crown Prince's nonsense in the future.
In the past, the Crown Prince and his entourage would have apologized to her long ago, but now they all seemed to ignore him, staring unanimously at the door.
She frowned, turned around in confusion, and saw Shi Kun standing behind the door with a pale face, holding a throwing knife in his hands and sticking it into his lower body. Blood was visibly seeping from between his legs, quickly staining a large area red.
Bi Linglong was completely dumbfounded. What were these people playing at? Were they going to stick their sticks into her? And where were they sticking them?

Actually, I can't quite remember how many updates I owe, maybe around 10? I'll make up for it this month. I should be able to catch up by updating three times a day for a while. I'll try to set a fixed update time, tentatively 9 am and 5 pm, with the evening time to be determined. As you all know, my writing speed has always been slow, so I don't know how long I can maintain it, but I'll try my best.
Also, I'd like to ask for monthly votes at the beginning of the month. It seems like I haven't really made it onto the monthly vote rankings in recent years. I think I've made it into the top 20 before? I was also very happy to be the gatekeeper of the top ten once. Let's see if I can go even higher this time.
Those of you with guaranteed monthly tickets, please cast yours! There's no need to spend money specifically to buy monthly tickets. Of course, if you enjoy reading, all you big spenders are welcome to patronize me!
