Chapter 639 Dragon Palace

As Zaan wandered around the island, he noticed that there were strange creatures everywhere on the island—some had transformed into human form, some were half-human and half-beast, and each of them showed traces of marine life. As is well known, especially some creatures from the deep sea, they all look rather random.

Some of the marine life on the island were busy with their tasks, while others lazily lay on the beach chatting and relaxing. Every now and then, someone would jump into the water for a while before coming back ashore, clearly a marine instinct that prevents them from staying out of the water for too long.

Every now and then, squads of soldiers would patrol. Judging from their pointed hats and the distinctive tail feathers on their clothes, it was obvious, even without Shang Hongyu's explanation, that they were shrimp soldiers.

Occasionally, a more powerful general would pass by, with thick armor on his back and ferocious pincers on his hands; his true form was likely a crab.

"They really are just a bunch of shrimp soldiers and crab generals," Zu An chuckled.

"Don't underestimate them. Shrimp and crabs are the most numerous in the ocean, and of course there are even more than them, but they are too weak. The shrimp and crab clans are the best soldiers overall. They are disciplined, numerous, and their individual strength is also decent. If it weren't for the fact that we sea people prefer the sea and are not interested in the land, even if you human and demon soldiers were combined, you wouldn't be able to compare to us." Shang Hongyu said this with a hint of pride.

Zuan, however, angrily exposed her boast: "Stop bragging. Even someone of your strength among the sea creatures can't stay out of the water for long. If you shrimp soldiers and crab generals were to come ashore and invade the human and demon races, we wouldn't even need to lift a finger; they would just die on their own."

Shang Hongyu retorted, "Then why don't you go down into the water and conquer our sea creatures!"

"Here I am, aren't I?" Zuan smiled. "Speaking of which, your sea race has long since submitted to the demon race, and I am the regent of the demon race. Even your dragon king should bow to me."

"Tch, what do you mean by submission? At most, it's called surrender. That's just to avoid unnecessary trouble." Shang Hongyu snorted. "Even if your old demon emperor were here, he wouldn't dare make our Dragon King pay his respects."

"So the old demon emperor is no match for me. I can get the Dragon King's wife to warm my bed every day." Zu'an laughed smugly.

"You're going to die!" Shang Hongyu was immediately embarrassed and pinched his waist hard.

...

While chatting, the two of them, guided by Shang Hongyu, wandered around the island and soon arrived at a secluded cliff by the sea.

Given Zuan's current mastery of formations, it's clear he's avoided countless defensive formations along the way. If outsiders were to trespass without knowing this, they would quickly be discovered by the island's guards, not only falling into the defensive formations' attack but also attracting a continuous stream of reinforcements from the nearby sea creatures.

Although Zaun is not afraid, this will cause a lot of trouble.

At this moment, Shang Hongyu pointed to the distance: "Eight hundred miles ahead, there is a remote, uninhabited island. It is very desolate, and sea creatures generally do not go there. It is a perfect location for our plan."

“Okay!” Zuan put his arm around her waist and flew directly in that direction.

Now that they were in the heart of the sea, Shang Hongyu no longer recklessly transformed into her original form to swim in the sea. Instead, she focused on reminding him which sea areas and skies along the way had defensive formations.

Zuan was already skilled in formations, and with her reminder, he was even more powerful. He flew at low altitudes, soared into the clouds, and dived into the sea, avoiding one trap and formation after another.

Shang Hongyu was filled with admiration, thinking that if this guy secretly went to the Dragon Palace to become a flower thief, probably no one could stop him.

At Zaun's speed, they arrived at their destination in no time. It was indeed a very desolate island, full of jagged rocks, extremely barren, with sparse vegetation and even very few seabirds.

Shang Hongyu skillfully led Zuan across the island, quickly arriving at a hidden cave: "This is a place I loved to come here to play when I was a child. Back then, my little sister and I would play hide-and-seek on this island without the maids and nannies bothering us. It's such a nostalgic memory."

Seeing the longing on her face, Zuan sighed that childhood was indeed the most precious and unforgettable time.

He pictured two little mermaids playing and frolicking on the island, and a smile involuntarily appeared on his face.

Next, Zu'an began setting up an array near the cave. Seeing the flashes of spiritual light around them, Shang Hongyu couldn't help but sigh, "I didn't expect you to be so skilled in arrays, with such high cultivation. Is there anything in this world that you can't do?"

Zuan planted a few battle flags in a corner and smiled upon hearing this: "I don't know how to have children."

Shang Hongyu sat on a clean rock to the side, her hands clasped together, her chin resting on her forearm, and smiled at him: "But you can get other women to have your children, so there must be many women in the world who would line up to have your children."

"So, do you want to?" Zu'an blurted out as he set up the formation.

Both of them were stunned upon hearing this.

Shang Hongyu blushed and spat, "Pah, you even dare to take advantage of your older sister."

Zu An thought to himself, "Which of the benefits I've gained these past few days isn't closer than this?"

However, he also knew that what he just said was a bit rash. He couldn't change his damned nature.

To ease the awkwardness, he changed the subject: "Over the years, I don't recall ever hearing that you and the Dragon King have any children?"

"I didn't want to have his children, so I used the excuse that I was still young and playful and didn't want children for the time being. But later I realized that my worries were unnecessary, because the Dragon King had more to consider. He and my sister had already had a Chiwen, and if he had another child with a mermaid, the balance between the races would be easily broken." Shang Hongyu smiled sarcastically, "After all, he still has countless concubines from various races to favor."
