"The Empress?" Zu An's heart stirred; he did indeed have something he wanted to discuss with the Empress.

Eunuch Lü looked him up and down, then gave him a smile that was more like a grimace: "Go in, Her Majesty is waiting for you inside."

The Empress chuckled, a strange light flashing in her phoenix eyes: "Why not?"
This left Zaun dumbfounded.
Seeing his dazed expression, the Empress snorted: "You dog servant, you really did have designs on me. I don't know if you're ignorant or just incredibly audacious."
Zu An said, "I am very timid. I have always been well-behaved in this palace and dare not overstep the bounds in the slightest."
"Heh..." The Empress chuckled coldly. If you're so principled, then all the eunuchs in this palace would be men. "Would a coward even dare to touch the Crown Princess?"
