Chapter 729 You Can Do It

"The Empress?" Zu An's heart stirred; he did indeed have something he wanted to discuss with the Empress.

Zu'an arrived at Kunning Palace and encountered Eunuch Lü outside the palace.

Eunuch Lü looked him up and down, then gave him a smile that was more like a grimace: "Go in, Her Majesty is waiting for you inside."

Zuan felt a chill run down his spine. This guy was looking at him so strangely. Could he be a gay man?

Upon entering the inner hall, one is greeted by the aroma of sandalwood, a unique fragrance that instantly calms the mind.

"Greetings, Your Majesty." There were other palace maids and eunuchs nearby, and the proper etiquette still had to be observed.

The Empress sat gracefully on the phoenix throne, her magnificent attire making her even more beautiful. Seeing her was like seeing the image of the future Crown Princess.

Although the two are not related by blood, they do share a certain similarity in terms of elegance and nobility.

Well, no, there's at least one major difference: the Empress sits there casually, and you can vaguely see the curves of her full, rounded hips, something the Crown Princess can't compare to.

Of course, the Crown Princess was no less impressive. He still remembers the feeling of that day; she was incredibly tight and elastic, a youthful feeling completely different from that of the Empress.

The Queen waved her hand, signaling the others to leave first.

Only Xiao Guizi and Xiao Zhuozi were left to serve.

Although she was the empress, there were still many taboos when she received officials from outside the palace, and someone had to be present.

Of course, after all the palace maids and eunuchs had left, she signaled Xiao Guizi and Xiao Zhuozi to stand guard outside the door.

The two men left respectfully, giving Zu An a kind smile as they passed by, clearly remembering his previous kindness.

Soon only the two of them remained in the room. The Empress said calmly, "If anyone else had looked at me like that, I would have gouged out their eyes long ago."

Zu An sighed deeply: "Your Majesty is so beautiful, it's a pity that you can only stay in the deep palace empty-handed on weekdays. All the other servants are intimidated by Your Majesty's status and majesty and dare not look you in the eye. This beauty is too much of a waste. I naturally have to take a few more glances to make up for it for them."

The Empress blushed, and her originally sharp phoenix eyes softened a bit: "You have a sweet tongue, but if these words fall into the Emperor's ears, it would probably be a capital offense. The Emperor obviously doesn't want anyone to do what he should do for him."

Zu An's heart skipped a beat. As expected of a mature woman, she was adept at all kinds of flirting. If he were a naive young man, he would probably have been aroused by her subtle hints and had all sorts of fantasies.

He replied with a smile, "As long as the Empress doesn't say anything, how would the Emperor know?"

The emperor constantly berated him and threatened him, so he was naturally annoyed and his words became less respectful.

The Empress's face darkened: "How dare you speak such disrespectful words!"

Anyone else might have been genuinely frightened by her, but Zu'an didn't care at all: "Your Majesty sent everyone else away, isn't that a hint to me?"

The Empress stared intently at him for a long time before suddenly chuckling, "You're really different from other servants. I suddenly find it quite interesting to have a companion like you."

"Is that so?" Zu'an remained noncommittal. "What brings Your Majesty here today?"

"Can't I come to you if there's nothing wrong?" The Empress stood up, and with her movement, a refreshing fragrance wafted into Zu An's nose.

Zu An gazed at her face, as beautiful as a peach blossom: "Unless Your Majesty is lonely in your secluded chambers and wants to find a man."

The Empress chuckled, a strange light flashing in her phoenix eyes: "Why not?"

This left Zaun dumbfounded.

Seeing his dazed expression, the Empress snorted: "You dog servant, you really did have designs on me. I don't know if you're ignorant or just incredibly audacious."

Zu An said, "I am very timid. I have always been well-behaved in this palace and dare not overstep the bounds in the slightest."

"Heh..." The Empress chuckled coldly. If you're so principled, then all the eunuchs in this palace would be men. "Would a coward even dare to touch the Crown Princess?"

Zu An's expression turned serious: "My relationship with the Crown Princess is completely innocent, Your Majesty, please don't speak nonsense."

The Empress sneered, "Others might believe you wouldn't dare, but you even dared to do this to me... Hmph, what is a mere Crown Princess?"

Zu'an wasn't falling for her trap: "If I weren't innocent, why would the Emperor have let me go?"

The Empress frowned: "This is what I can't understand the most. Given Zhao Hao's personality, even if you are innocent, he wouldn't spare your life if you were involved with the Crown Princess."

"Maybe I'm just lucky," Zu'an thought to himself. As expected of a married couple, they really understood the emperor too well.

Ultimately, the emperor only needed his help to deal with the Prince of Qi; he wasn't really letting him go.

Once the King of Qi is dealt with, the outcome will be the same: the cunning rabbit dies, the hunting dog is cooked.

Moreover, this time they also need to investigate who framed the Crown Princess. If they can't find out, it's likely that the case is over.

Damn it, he clearly wants me to do things for him, but he keeps threatening me with his life.

As the deadline drew closer, he grew increasingly agitated.

"By the way, last time you asked Miss Chu to pass on a message to me, asking me to help you investigate those palace maids and eunuchs..." the Empress suddenly said.

Before she could finish speaking, Zu'an perked up and hurriedly asked, "What leads have you made?"

Shi Jun was taken away a few days ago, which caused that connection to be broken, and he's been worried about it ever since.

The Empress was somewhat puzzled: "It's not like you're the one investigating the case, so why are you so concerned?"
