Zu An was initially worried about trouble and considered giving a fake name to fool him, but then he remembered that Mi Li had advised him to cultivate his reputation, and that he had just found his own path a few days ago, riding a horse with the might of a tiger, becoming the strongest man in the world. Hiding and dodging was not in line with his true nature, so he smiled and said, "You flatter me, sir. I am Zu An."
As the direct disciple of the chief priest, Yin Shi held a superior position in the national academy. In his previous life, he would have been a professor at Tsinghua or Peking University, or even a doctoral supervisor. It was always a good idea to build a good relationship with someone like that.
"Zu An, why does that name sound so familiar?" Yin Shi murmured to himself, then his eyes lit up. "Is that the great hero Zu who obtained the secret to immortality, presented it to the emperor, thwarted the conspiracies of various forces, and repeatedly performed extraordinary feats in the Eastern Palace?"
Zuan: "..."
He suddenly realized he was starting to like this place. The people here were nice and spoke so pleasantly. The renowned expert was indeed living up to his reputation; his compliments were so effusive that even someone as thick-skinned as me blushed.
The students around who had been listening intently suddenly realized:
"So he's Miss Chu's husband."
"He's quite handsome, no wonder Miss Chu likes him."
"Is that so? I find it quite ordinary."
"I never expected that even the most beautiful teacher in the college would be dating him. Why don't I have such good fortune?"
...
At this moment, Zu'an replied, "Brother Yin, you flatter me. What I did is nothing to mention."
"You're handsome and so humble, no wonder Eighth Senior Sister took a liking to you." Yin Shi cupped his hands in greeting. "I'm in a hurry to comprehend the inspiration that Master just gave me, so I'll have to talk to you later. I'll ask you for advice next time."
After saying that, he transformed into a ball and rolled along the tree-lined path out of sight. Park Guk-chang and his disciples hurriedly chased after him, saying, "Teacher, teacher, wait for me!"
Jiang Luofu took the opportunity to leave with Zu An. After they left the group of students who were watching, she suddenly hesitated.
Zuan chuckled: "What is the beautiful principal trying to say? This is not like you."
Jiang Luofu then said, "Please don't take what Yin Shi and those students said to heart. My feelings for you are not romantic, but rather those of a friend."
Zuan looked disappointed: "Sigh, what you said really hurt my feelings. I thought you at least had a tiny bit of affection for me."
Jiang Luofu explained, "I do have feelings for you, but not in a romantic way..."
“I understand,” Zuan interrupted her, “We have a purely platonic relationship.”
Jiang Luofu blinked, feeling that something was off about this statement, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
However, she was more curious about something else: "What exactly is this quantum thing you just mentioned, and what about Beth? Why were they able to captivate Yin Shi like that?"
"I don't know either. It was all nonsense, and who knew that guy would actually believe it." Zu An thought to himself that he had learned Bayes' theorem in school, but he had basically forgotten it all. As for quantum mechanics, he had only looked up some information when he was a keyboard warrior online and read some articles by pseudo-scientists.
If he really understood quantum mechanics, why would he be a keyboard warrior?
Jiang Luofu: "..."
She considered countless possibilities, but never expected this outcome.
Finally, she said, half-laughing and half-crying, "If that fatso knew he'd been fooled and crippled, he'd probably buy a block of tofu and smash his head against it."
Zuan said shyly, "Sister, you won't betray me, will you?"
Since the other person is no longer the principal, it's not appropriate to call her "beautiful principal," so he changed his address accordingly.
Jiang Luofu was quite pleased with being called "sister": "Don't worry, I get a terrible headache every time that fatso bothers me, and I wish I could stay as far away from him as possible, so how could I possibly talk to him?"
Zuan laughed and said, "That's settled then."
As the two walked, Zuan suddenly exclaimed in surprise, wondering if he had been tricked by Jia Sili into some kind of illusion.
The tranquil campus environment, once lush with green grass and towering ancient trees, is gone, replaced by a field of green crops, including wheat seedlings, rice seedlings, and various fruits and vegetables. Many people dressed as farmers are working in the fields, wielding hoes, making it feel like a large farm.
"What's going on?" Zu An looked back at Jiang Luofu in disbelief.
Jiang Luofu smiled and walked straight to the largest rice paddy in front of her. She bowed to an old man wearing a gray-white short jacket, with dark skin and a forehead covered with wrinkles like earthworms: "Seventh Senior Brother!"
"Seventh Senior Brother?" Zu An was bewildered. This man, who would have been an ordinary person in a crowd, and who looked like a seasoned farmer who toiled in the fields, was actually Jiang Luofu's senior brother and the direct disciple of the chief priest.
Thinking of Yin Shi, that argumentative person, Zu An suddenly doubted the Chief Priest's taste. What kind of disciples did he take in? Relatively speaking, Jiang Luofu was more normal.
"So it's Eighth Junior Sister." The old farmer put his hoe aside, wiped the sweat from his face with the handkerchief draped over his shoulder, and revealed a simple and honest smile.
"Is Eighth Senior Brother researching some new crop again?" Jiang Luofu asked curiously, looking at the lush green crops in the field beside her. "Are those chives?"
Zuan stared wide-eyed, momentarily questioning his existence. This thing was chives?
The old farmer said quietly, "Those are wheat seedlings..."
"Ah?" Jiang Luofu blushed deeply, wishing she could disappear into a crack in the ground.
