Chapter 839 Transaction

“It seems to be that princess from the previous generation,” Pei Mianman said with a strange smile. “Go quickly, don’t keep others waiting.”

The other women couldn't help but smile and urged him to leave.

If other women were so attentive to Zaun, they might feel jealous, but this Salami is just... a different kind of woman; they trust Zaun completely.

Somewhat helpless, Zuan had no choice but to leave the cave. He saw Salami standing not far away, with her back to the cave, gazing absently at the majestic palace in the distance.

Zuan couldn't help but sigh. Actually, the back view was quite good-looking, but the dinosaur head on top of it was really a bit creepy.

"Greetings, Miss." Zu An gave a slight bow.

Salami then turned around, looked him up and down, and her eyes flickered slightly: "I thought you would be captured, interrogated and tortured by the Lord of Demons, but you don't have a single injury on you."

Zuan smiled faintly: "Maybe I'm just lucky."

“You’re really lucky,” Salami said with a smile, looking him over. “The Lord of Slaughter is known for his unpredictable temper. In recent years, with the front lines suffering defeat after defeat, his temper has become even worse. You killed his male lover, and I thought I’d never see you again.”

Zuan frowned slightly: "Miss seems to have something in mind?"

Salami stared intently into his eyes: "Can I still trust you?"

"What does Miss mean?" Zuan's heart stirred. This Salami wasn't stupid; she was quick to sense that something was wrong.

Salami's smile vanished, and suddenly a curved blade appeared in her hand, held to his neck. She demanded sharply, "Speak! Have you secretly sided with the Demon Lord?!"

Although her attack was swift, it was not difficult for Zu An to dodge it with his current cultivation level. However, he still stood still, letting the curved blade be held to his neck: "Since you don't believe me, young lady, do you think you'll believe me after I say a few words?"

A hint of surprise flashed in Salami's eyes as she sheathed her scimitar: "If you had resisted out of fear just now, you would be dead by now."

Zaun smiled and didn't argue, "Thank you, Saramei, for showing mercy."

Salame looked at him suspiciously: "You really didn't betray me?"

“Miss, think about how the Demon Lord would react if he knew about our relationship. Is it worth it for me to take this risk?” Zuan replied.

“That’s true,” Salami nodded slightly. “I don’t believe you would be that stupid.”

Zaun sighed inwardly, realizing that compared to the Demon Lord, Salami was still too inexperienced.

However, what exactly does the Lord of Demons want to do? He knows everything that Salami is doing, yet he still refuses to eliminate this scourge.

"You didn't come all this way just to tell me this, did you, Miss?" Zu An asked.

“Of course not,” Salami said with a hint of embarrassment. “Since you are still trustworthy, I would like to ask you for a favor.”

"What kind of help?" Seeing her hesitant manner, Zu'an knew that this favor was probably not easy to do.

"Help me go save Uncle Mo." After hesitating for a long time, Salami finally said it.

"What happened to Mogad?" Zaun asked, surprised.

“When I learned of your accident today, I asked Uncle Mo to find a way to rescue you, but his whereabouts were exposed, and he was captured by those palace demon envoys and is now imprisoned in the palace,” Salami explained quickly.

"That lie isn't very clever," Zuan sneered. The events involving the Historian of Time had happened far too suddenly today. He didn't believe the other party would receive the news so quickly, and he certainly didn't believe that, given their relationship, he would let Morgad take such a great risk to save him.

Salami's face flushed: "Young master is indeed wise. I had no choice just now. I said those things in a moment of desperation. I hope you will forgive me."

"What exactly happened with Mogad?" Zaun naturally wouldn't make a big deal out of such a trivial matter.

Salami then explained, "Strictly speaking, what I just said wasn't entirely unfounded. Since the Green Crown Lizard King and the Mad King were killed, we had to find another way to enter the treasure vault. Uncle Mo's trip was to contact an old friend to see if he could help you enter the treasure vault to find those special materials. Who knew that he would be discovered by the palace demon envoy, outnumbered and captured, and imprisoned in the palace's heavenly prison."

Zaun is utterly speechless. You guys think you can rebel against the Lord of Demons?

He thought for a moment and said, "Miss, you've probably come to the wrong person. What merit do I have to rescue Morgard from the palace?"

He even added in his mind, "This brat is not worth discussing things with. It seems I'll have to find another way to get into the treasure vault."

“Of course I won’t make you do something so difficult. This time you don’t need to take action yourself. You just need to find a way to lure the Demon Lord out of the palace. Then our people will storm the Heavenly Prison and rescue Uncle Mo.” Salamei gave him a deep look. “This time, his favorite Steward Pi was killed, and he didn’t even torture you. It seems he trusts you a lot. I believe you must have a way.”

She was actually wondering why the Demon Lord would let Donar go. She initially thought Donar had betrayed her, but after talking to him, it didn't seem like it. So, the only reason she could think of was that the Demon Lord had taken a liking to him.

With Steward Pi dead, the Demon Lord will inevitably need a new male concubine.

This Donal was fair-skinned and famously handsome, much more appealing than that Steward Pi, and the Demon Lord had clearly taken a liking to him.

When the time comes, Donal can use his charm to lure the Demon Lord out for a romantic getaway. Of course, to save face for him, these words cannot be spoken directly.

Zuan felt that the other person's eyes and expression were really strange, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong, so he snorted: "Why should I take such a big risk to help you?"
