Chapter 141 A Glimmer of Hope

Suddenly, a commotion arose from the zombie horde at the bottom of the valley. The zombies dispersed automatically, and then dozens of new zombies arrived at the bottom of the valley.

"Huh, these zombies are much cleaner." After seeing so many ugly monsters with rotting flesh and pus, Zuan found these clean and tidy zombies quite handsome.

However, the smile on his face quickly froze, because he saw these new zombies take out longbows from their backs, nock arrows, and aim at him.

Zuan: "I #@%*..."

He was practically cursing at this point; the zombies even had archers?

This isn't a bunch of refugees, it's practically an army!

Just then, the archers fired, and hundreds of arrows whistled through the air. Zuan was so frightened that he immediately hid behind a big tree.

puff!

Zuan shuddered and moved forward with difficulty, turning back to look at the few broken arrows sticking out of the tree trunk, each with a trace of bright red blood on it.

Damn it!

Zuan then realized that he had been careless. This was a world of cultivation, and even zombies could not distinguish ordinary zombies. How could a big tree possibly stop the arrows they shot?

It's all because of the influence of those ridiculous movies and TV shows from my past life. During gunfights, everyone thinks they can just hide behind car doors to block bullets. Isn't that setting a bad example for everyone?

I still suffered from my lack of education!

I wonder if tetanus exists in this world. And these zombies are all covered in rotting flesh and pus, so I don't know how many viruses and bacteria they carry. Their arrows probably aren't clean either.

The thought sent a chill down Zuan's spine, but a new volley of arrows rained down on him, leaving him no time to think about such things. He quickly turned around, no longer daring to rely on the tree alone to block the arrows, and instead tried his best to deflect the arrows in the air with his sword.

Because he had just been seriously injured by several arrows in his back, his strength and agility were much greater than normal. Even so, he still felt he couldn't hold on against the barrage of arrows.

Although he could block the arrows aimed at him, he couldn't stop all the arrows aimed at the tree. His wrists were numb from the impact of the arrows, and he could predict that with the power contained in these arrows, it wouldn't be long before the tree was broken, and he would still die if he fell down.

In that moment of distraction, an arrow struck him directly in the shoulder, the force of which nearly sent him plummeting from mid-air.

Fortunately, Zuan managed to steady himself by grabbing onto a tree branch.

Am I going to die here today?

Just then, a desolate yet majestic horn sound suddenly came from afar, as if it possessed an inexplicable magic that made people's blood boil.

Zu An, however, could not be happy. He was very familiar with this sound from all the movies and TV shows he had watched in his previous life; it was the sound of bugles in ancient wars.

I had my suspicions before, and now it's finally confirmed: these zombies really are an army!

It's over, it's over. He can't even handle this group of troops, let alone their reinforcements.

Wait a minute, why aren't they shooting arrows anymore?

Looking down, Zuan was astonished to find that all the zombies that had been staring at him had turned their heads to look at the other side of the valley.

Although the zombies couldn't speak and had hardly any flesh left on their faces, Zaun could still sense their tension and solemnity from their "expressions."

What's going on?

Zuan was taken aback. The unusual behavior of the zombies below surprised him greatly, but he didn't dare to delay. He took out some medicine and applied it to his wounds.

He didn't use the "Brother Xin Chun" he had drawn from the keyboard system; that was meant to save his life. Using it on this kind of injury would be a huge waste. He was now somewhat regretful that he had used a whole bottle just because it was for the Howling Whip injury.

The medicine he's using now was given to him by Ji Xiaoxi before—or more accurately, it was a gift from those classmates who were trying to curry favor with him, which she then passed on to him.

"Would those people be so malicious as to deliberately send poison to harm themselves?" Zu'an's imagination ran wild. If someone guessed that Ji Xiaoxi would be given to me, they might actually do such a thing.

However, he shook his head and dismissed the idea. Firstly, he felt that these people were probably not that smart, and secondly, he trusted Ji Xiaoxi. After all, she had roughly examined the medicine when it passed through her hands, and with her medical skills, she would definitely be able to tell if there was a problem with the medicine.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

A series of orderly footsteps approached from afar. Zu An's expression changed. These uniform footsteps seemed to make one's heart pound, creating an inexplicable sense of oppression.
