How can this human be so despicable? If you're so tough, put down that glowing thing you're holding, and I'll beat the crap out of you in a heartbeat!
"A bunch of trash!" Zuan said disdainfully, but in his heart he thought that although the flashlight had a suppressive effect on them, its lethality was still not enough. It only caused damage when it shone on them. After the light was removed, it would not burn like fire and cause continuous damage.
"Waaaaah~"
Just then, a bugle call sounded, and many terracotta warriors stood on chariots, waving their flags. The chaotic formation gradually calmed down, and soon a group of soldiers with shields stood at the front, blocking the terrifying speed of light that was so fast for them.
Zuan was stunned. These guys actually knew strategy?
He kept changing the direction of his flashlight, but it was blocked by the terracotta warriors' shields. They not only blocked the front, but the ones in the back rows even held up their shields to block the top of his head.
That's outrageous!
Just then, Zu'an's eyes narrowed, because he saw archers in the back row of the terracotta warriors drawing their bows and nocking arrows.
"Run!" Zu An took off running, and seeing that Qiao Xueying hadn't reacted yet, he quickly grabbed her and ran.
"What are you doing!" Qiao Xueying was both embarrassed and angry when she saw the other person grab her hand again, but she soon heard the whooshing sound of something cutting through the air.
Looking back, she saw a dense rain of arrows filling the sky, and her face instantly paled.
This guy was smug just a second ago, singing about how lonely it is to be invincible, and now he's running away faster than anyone else. Doesn't he know what shame is?
"It's too late!" Knowing he couldn't outrun the speed of the arrows, Zu'an hurriedly asked Qiao Xueying, "How long can your shield last?"
"It won't last long." Qiao Xueying's face was pale.
"Buy me some time!" Zuan stopped and immediately started digging in the ground with his Death Knife.
Qiao Xueying didn't know what he was doing, but subconsciously she waved her wrist, and vines wove into a shield behind her.
Almost in the blink of an eye, the rain of arrows had already struck the vines.
Qiao Xueying let out a soft groan, clearly indicating that the powerful impact had caused her serious injury immediately.
She didn't even have time to speak, focusing all her energy on repairing the vines behind her that were riddled with holes. Although only a few minutes had passed, it felt like an eternity to her.
"Ah~" With a soft cry, Qiao Xueying trembled all over. She could feel an arrow piercing through her defenses and embedding itself in her shoulder. She gritted her teeth and hurriedly replenished her Yuan energy to her back.
But she also knew very well that she could only hold out for three breaths at most before her defenses completely collapsed, and then in the next instant, both of them would be riddled with arrows.
3!
2!
1!
Qiao Xueying was completely exhausted. Before closing her eyes, her last thought flashed through her mind: "I never thought I would die with this guy."
"What, you really want to be my soulmate?"
A mocking voice came from beside me.
Qiao Xueying was startled. She opened her eyes and found herself lying on her side in a shallow pit. The arrows that were being shot at her like rain were all hitting the other side of the pit.
So that's what he was digging for...
Qiao Xueying finally understood, but then she realized that she was being held tightly in Zu An's arms. The two were facing each other and could clearly feel each other's breath on their faces. Their lips were even just a hair's breadth away from completely touching.
"What are you doing!" Qiao Xueying was startled and instinctively struggled.
Zuan hugged her tightly: "Don't move. We finally dug this shallow pit to hide in. If you accidentally expose even a little bit, you'll get shot."
As if to confirm his words, an arrow grazed her sleeve and nearly pierced her arm.
So she dared not move at all and could only press herself tightly against him.
To ease her embarrassment, Qiao Xueying quickly turned her head and said, "What's the principle behind this pit? Why can the arrows hit that side directly but not us?"
Zuan explained, "This thing is called a trench, but unfortunately, due to time constraints, it could only be dug this shallow. Arrows are shot at an angle, so they actually fall at an angle as well. Since we are hiding on this side of the trench, unless the arrows fall vertically, they cannot hit us."
He secretly rejoiced that the dagger could cut through iron like mud, and that he was now incredibly strong; otherwise, it would have been impossible to dig such a long, shallow pit in such a short time, large enough for two people to hide in.
Qiao Xueying seemed to understand but not quite, and couldn't help but ask, "How do you know so much?"
"I know a lot more than you think. It's your fault for being so blind before." Zuan had to admit that although this girl was annoying on ordinary days, she was really soft-hearted.
Qiao Xueying: "..."
Does this guy not feel comfortable unless he argues with her?
Just then, the rain of arrows began to thin out, and the archers clearly realized that it would be difficult to hit them.
Just as the two were about to breathe a sigh of relief, they heard a series of earth-shaking sounds.
Cavalry, those are the cavalry troops of the Terracotta Army charging forward!

Today was a busy day. In the morning, I was busy preparing for my class reunion that's been over ten years since graduation. In the afternoon, I had to drive my family around. The worst part was that a section of the national highway was under construction, so only one-way traffic was allowed at a time. Every time, I was stuck there for at least half an hour. What's even more annoying is that I drove that route three times today, so I spent almost half the day driving...
Okay, all this is just an excuse to ask for a day off. I guess I can only update once today, and I'll make up for it later. Come to think of it, I owe so many updates. I feel hopeless.
