Zu An suddenly spoke up: "I agree, but what if Young Master Shi changes his mind and doesn't want to compete after I've finished?"
"How could I possibly go back on my word?" Shi Kun sneered. "With the Crown Prince here and so many eunuchs and guards as witnesses, what are you worried about?"
"That's right, if he goes back on his word, I, the Crown Prince, will destroy him," the fat man assured, patting his chest.
Zuan secretly sneered. If you were a normal person, you might actually have this ability, after all, you are the crown prince; but now you're just a fool, how can you have the real authority of a crown prince?
Of course, no one would make such an absurd bet unless they were an idiot.
Zuan shook his head and said, "I wouldn't be worried about anyone else, but I heard that Young Master Shi's father is the Grand Marshal of the current dynasty, one of the Eight Dukes who are respected by everyone. Even the Emperor has to give him some face. If he really tries to cheat us, there's nothing we can do."
Shi Kun frowned: "Then what do you want? I think you're just making excuses because you're afraid to compete."
Zuan said calmly, "If you want to compete, just make a vow and a contract, with heaven and earth as your witness."
He used to wonder why the contracts in this world could not be violated. As his cultivation deepened, he gradually felt the laws of heaven and earth. Many times, the oaths and contracts resonated with heaven and earth, so they could not be violated.
Now it was Shi Kun's turn to be in a bind. He had originally planned not to compete later, but once he made the vow, he had to go on stage. He didn't want to become a cripple because of the Crown Prince's terrible aim.
With a sudden thought, he immediately raised his hand and made a vow. Soon, the two of them felt the power of the Heavenly Dao being drawn into their bodies.
Shi Kun, however, was not worried at all, because he had played a trick in his oath. He only agreed to take the stage after the competition in Zu'an, but he didn't say that he couldn't admit defeat in advance.
Anyway, Zaun was already seriously injured and unconscious at that time, so there was no way to make him lick shoes or bark like a dog, which gave him a lot more room for maneuver.
He was going all out, even risking his life to completely destroy Zuan.
Seeing that he had made a vow, Zuan nodded in satisfaction, leaned leisurely against the wall, and even had time to feel whether the apple on his body was fresh or not: "I'm ready, Your Highness, you may begin."
Xu Zi and He Zi, who were placing the apples on him, looked sympathetic. A few years ago, the Crown Prince had taken a liking to throwing knives, and he would place apples on the eunuchs in the same way until he hit one.
Even for someone of the Crown Prince's skill level, it often takes dozens of shots to hit a target by luck, and the whole process often requires dozens of eunuchs.
If the shot doesn't hit a vital spot, it's fine; the wound will heal in a few days. But some unlucky souls get shot directly into a vital spot and die on the spot. This prince's attendant is probably doomed today.
"Make way, make way, I'm about to begin." The prince waved his hand impatiently, signaling the eunuchs to move aside.
The eunuchs dared not linger and quickly disappeared into the distance. Even the guards retreated far away, leaving no one within several feet of Zu An.
Zu An's face twitched. How could the Crown Prince's aim be so outrageous that these people had to be so far away?
Shi Kun across from him laughed, a very happy laugh. He could already foresee the miserable end that Zu An would suffer later.
Zuan's gaze fell on the flying knife in the prince's hand, and the sense of crisis grew stronger. Even with his superhuman recovery ability, he dared not take it head-on.
There's definitely something wrong with that throwing knife!
Although he didn't know what was unusual about the throwing knife, Shi Kun was so eager to get him involved that he must have tampered with it, so he never intended to catch it head-on.
He stared intently at the Crown Prince, who suddenly paused, then threw the throwing knife.
Bang!
With a crisp sound, the throwing knife accurately struck the apple on Zuan's head, embedding itself directly in the wall, the blade still swaying gently.
An eerie silence fell over the room as everyone stared in disbelief at the scene.
"How could this be!" Shi Kun rubbed his eyes, thinking he was hallucinating.
But the throwing knife remained firmly embedded in the wall, and the reactions of the surrounding eunuchs and guards proved that he had not misjudged it.
The Crown Prince must have gotten incredibly lucky; he just stumbled upon it.
Such things have happened before; after the prince throws dozens of knives, he always manages to hit one or two times.
Thinking of this, Shi Kun finally relaxed.
Then the Crown Prince unleashed his second strike. Seeing the Crown Prince's strike, his heart skipped a beat. How could he be so steady?
He turned his head and, unsurprisingly, the knife was stuck between Zuan's legs, slicing the apple between them in two.
"Good, Your Highness is truly amazing!"
After their initial surprise, Xiao Xu and Xiao He were not about to let go of such a good opportunity to flatter him, so they both applauded and cheered.
Even the guards started to flatter him. It was not difficult for them to shoot so accurately, but that was the Crown Prince. Wasn't that worthy of praise?
"Calm down, calm down, this must just be a coincidence, yes, a coincidence." Shi Kun kept reassuring himself, but sweat was already dripping from his temples, clearly this reassurance was not working at all, and his heart was already wavering.
At this moment, the prince shot out two more swords, one to the left and one to the right, hitting the apples on his arm without harming Zu'an at all!
Shi Kun felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over his head. His whole body went limp, and he could no longer stand. He fell directly into the chair behind him, and even on the chair, he couldn't sit still. He twisted and turned several times before he managed to avoid slipping off the chair.
"How is this possible, how is this possible..." Shi Kun's mind was in turmoil, not only because he had failed to harm Zu An, but also because he was worried about something else. If hitting the target once was a coincidence, how could hitting it four times in a row be a coincidence?
