Chapter 8 Qin Xingwan and Qin Yunshu, who will he choose?
Qin Xingwan pulled her finger back with a mocking smile on her face. "No need. Just stay here with your good friends. Don't let me make you unhappy."
She actually wanted to ask him, when he said he had something to deal with, did he mean he was coming to see Qin Yunshu?
But I kept thinking about this several times, but I never asked it.
It's obvious, so there's no need to humiliate yourself.
Chu Li insisted: "I'll go with you."
The smile on Qin Xingwan's face disappeared. After the quarrel just now, there was really no need for him to pretend to be affectionate.
After all, the truth about this marriage is so unbearable.
Grandma Qin had difficulty walking and stayed in her room most of the time. Now she stood up with the help of a cane and walked to the door.
Qin Xingwan quickly helped her grandmother back to the room. Before she could say anything, her eyes were already red.
"Grandma." She choked out and threw herself on the old woman's legs.
Grandma Qin stroked her granddaughter's head and asked repeatedly what was wrong.
Full of worries.
Qin Xingwan quickly controlled her emotions, wiped away her tears, and held her grandmother's hand. "I'm fine, grandma, I just missed you."
"You kid, if you miss me, just come and see me." Grandma Qin sighed.
She knew in her heart that her granddaughter must have been wronged, which was why she was crying so sadly.
And that grievance... Grandma Qin looked up at Chu Li at the door.
Chu Li walked in and called out "Grandma".
Grandma Qin nodded and said to Qin Xingwan, "Auntie in the kitchen has made some soup. Can you help me check if it's ready?"
Qin Xingwan went there obediently.
Grandma Qin gestured for Chu Li to sit down, and her old voice turned serious: "When they wanted Wanwan to marry you, I didn't agree."
Chu Li lowered his eyes, rested his hands on his knees, and looked like he was listening to the instruction.
Grandma Qin continued, "Now that Yunshu is back, I want to ask you, what are your thoughts?"
She asked Chu Li who to choose.
There was no emotion on Chu Li's cold and indifferent face, only his fingers were slightly curled in his palms.
"Xingwan and I will not divorce."
This was the promise he made to the old man.
"What if Wanwan wants to divorce?" the old man asked.
Chu Li suddenly felt irritated. "Don't worry, grandma. We will continue on this journey."
He gave an ambiguous answer.
Grandma Qin sighed, feeling sorry for her granddaughter but helpless.
She could only do her best to ask Chu Li: "If Wanwan ever wants to be free, please don't make things difficult for her."
Chu Li's throat tightened and he couldn't make a sound.
Almost everyone thought he would divorce Qin Xingwan.
Qin Xingwan also thinks so.
But if he said it, no one would believe him. He had never thought about divorce.
His feelings for Qin Yunshu were just a friendship that came from growing up together.
Protecting her is a way to repay her for saving my life.
"Grandma, the soup is ready." A gentle voice came.
Qin Xingwan came in with a bowl of soup and didn't even glance at Chu Li when she passed by him.
Chu Li noticed her coldness.
As a couple for three years, they followed the agreement in the beginning and then became physically and mentally integrated with each other. In fact, they already understood each other well enough.
"Grandma, I'll go out first. Xingwan, I'll wait for you outside." He left politely.
Qin Xingwan didn't answer, but just fed her grandmother the soup.
Grandma Qin looked at her granddaughter's pale face and knew that she must have suffered a lot of grievances because of Qin Yunshu's return.
That couple has always been extremely partial.
"Wanwan, I heard what you said outside." Grandma Qin lowered her voice, tears flashing in her eyes, and guilt filled her heart, "I am the one who has dragged you down."
Qin Xingwan clenched the soup bowl tightly with her fingers, her heart pounding, but her tone was light-hearted and playful: "Grandma, this has nothing to do with you. Besides, quarreling is good for your physical and mental health."
Grandma Qin sighed.
Qin Xingwan stayed with her grandmother in the room for a long time until her grandmother was about to take a nap, and then she left.
Outside, the servants had prepared lunch.
"Let's eat." Mrs. Qin greeted Qin Xingwan without getting too close.
They had just fallen out not long ago, and being polite and courteous to her daughter was already the limit for Mrs. Qin.
"I don't want to eat anymore, I..." Qin Xingwan wanted to refuse.
"After becoming Ali's wife, you haven't learned anything else, but you've become more and more arrogant. What's wrong? Are you embarrassed by the food at home?" Qin Jianguo, who had just arrived home, scolded with a stern face.
Qin Xingwan was silent. Her grandma was here, and she didn't want to continue arguing and make her worry.
But judging by her father's attitude, she would not give up until she had finished the meal.
So he walked to the table and sat down in silence.
Qin Jianguo became even angrier. "I don't know what I owed you in my past life. You're so rude as soon as I get home."
"Okay, stop talking." Mrs. Qin advised.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was very depressing.
Qin Xingwan could sense the disgust in Qin Shen's eyes as he looked at her. He was probably thinking that it would be better if she had not appeared here.
It disturbed their happy family life.
"Sister, drink the soup." Qin Yunshu carefully placed a bowl of pork rib soup in front of Qin Xingwan, speaking softly and in a flattering and well-behaved manner.
Qin Xingwan didn't give any response, but just lowered her head and picked up the food in the bowl.
He didn't even touch the bowl of soup.
Qin Yunshu bit her lip, her eyes began to turn red, and she felt aggrieved and uncomfortable.
Qin Shen immediately dropped his chopsticks and pointed at Qin Xingwan, cursing, "Qin Xingwan, are you done yet?"
Qin Xingwan raised her head, her brows and eyes were sparse: "What's wrong with me?"
"Yun Shu was talking to you and she served you soup with good intentions. Are you deaf or blind?" Qin Shen was filled with anger.
Qin Xingwan looked down at the bowl of pork rib soup: "Do I have to drink it if she serves it? Is it against the law of heaven if I don't drink it?"
The calm rhetorical question is more uncomfortable than hysteria.
"That's enough." Qin Jianguo slammed the table, his anger rising. "You can't even eat in peace. What do you want to do?"
He stared at Qin Xingwan and said coldly, "If you don't want to eat, get out."
Qin Xingwan stood up immediately and said, "I didn't plan to stay for dinner."
If she hadn't been afraid of disturbing her grandmother, she would have left long ago.
She would be happy to leave now.
"Qin Xingwan, stop right there." Qin Shen walked over and grabbed Qin Xingwan, "Drink the soup before you leave."
He always felt that Qin Xingwan was a person with a certain arrogance and was particularly annoying.
It was as if she had nothing to do with this family from the beginning to the end.
So she has to drink this soup today whether she wants to or not.
"Forget it, brother." Qin Yunshu came over and held Qin Shen, choking with sobs, "Sister is not feeling well, please don't make things difficult for her."
"You're still speaking for her?" Qin Shen looked at his sister with dismay. "She ruined your birthday party and even accused you of wearing her dress in public. She then gave it to the waitress, causing you to be laughed at."
"Now she's ruining your sincerity, and you're still defending her?"
"Xingwan, Yunshu really wants to be good to you as her sister." Chu Li walked over, blocked the aggressive and unyielding Qin Shen, and persuaded Qin Xingwan in a deep voice.
That bowl of soup was a token of love from the younger sister to her older sister, and Qin Xingwan should appreciate it.
"We're all very sorry about the child, but no one expected something like this to happen." Mrs. Qin sighed and then advised, "You and Ali are still young, you will have children eventually."
"When you were pregnant, you didn't stay at home but ran away. Now the child is gone, but instead of reflecting on yourself, you blame others. Isn't this how we taught you since you were a child?" Qin Jianguo's expression was fierce, and he was full of dislike for his daughter.
