Chapter 14 This is rouge, used by young ladies.

Granny Ye: "This old servant noticed that General Wei outside is injured, on his arm. Is the princess trying to bribe him with medicine for his injury?"

“Princess, General Shan Yi is straightforward and frank. Because you are a princess from the Yue Kingdom, he is not wary of you.”

"This old servant sees that this young General Wei is similar to General Shan Yi, but he is even more stubborn. He is His Highness the Crown Prince's man and will not be moved by your small favors. It would be a waste of our medicine."

Yue Jiang chuckled: "Granny, who said I was going to use it on him? His Highness is also injured. He hasn't had time to come and see me for half a day. He must be very busy. Perhaps he doesn't even have time to take care of himself. I'm going to use it on His Highness."

“This old servant understands,” Granny Ye belatedly realized.

Aside from being most concerned about Yue Jiang's appearance, she mostly didn't care about what Yue Jiang did, knowing that Yue Jiang was considerate anyway.

Understanding Yue Jiang's intention, she turned around and took the ointment for her injuries.

Yuejiang took it, gently rubbed the lip rouge on her lips with one finger, and smeared the rouge that had been rubbed off onto the bottom of the porcelain blue jar in her hand, before putting it into a brocade box.

She opened the car window and spotted Wei You sitting under the shade of a tree in the distance, having his meal. She waved to him and called out, "General Wei."

Wei You was eating, preparing to finish quickly and inspect the troops so as not to delay his journey with the army, when he suddenly heard someone calling him.

When he looked up, he saw the princess of the Moon Kingdom. He didn't really want to get acquainted with her, or even say a word to her.

After all, she's too beautiful. If she marries His Highness and behaves herself, that's fine. But if she uses her beauty to seduce His Highness and indulge in debauchery, that won't do.

Wei You had to be vigilant and keep an eye on her at all times, but why did she call him on her own initiative? Did she miss His Highness after not seeing him for half a day?

Considering that she was the future Crown Princess, he couldn't refuse her, so he put down his rice bowl and went over.

“Princess Yuejiang, why do you need my food? Please remember that I will do my best to meet any needs you may have, but you must not disturb Her Highness on the way.”

“General Wei, I had no intention of disturbing Your Highness,” Yue Jiang said with a friendly smile, seemingly oblivious to Wei You’s impatience.

Yue Jiang smiled innocently, and Wei You hesitated: "Then why did you summon me?"

Yue Jiang handed over the box, her attitude sincere: "General Wei, Your Highness is injured. The journey is long, and even a normal person would be tired after half a day of travel. Your Highness must be in even more pain."

"This is a wound ointment from the Yue Kingdom. The old woman said it is very effective for external wounds caused by swords, spears, and halberds. I will not go forward. I will trouble General Wei to deliver this wound ointment to His Highness."

The Moon Kingdom is a commercial nation; there's nothing they won't sell, and their goods far surpass those of other countries.

Especially the ointment for injuries, one jar costs twenty taels, and it works incredibly fast, but it's too expensive. No country has the money to buy such good medicine for its army.

Wei You thought that his prince's abdominal injury was quite serious and should have been treated with special medicine, but he insisted on sharing the hardships with the soldiers.

Your Highness should have rested properly after being injured, but you're constantly busy.

If we use the medicine given by Princess Yuejiang, we might recover faster.

This made Wei You, who was initially wary of Yue Jiang, suddenly feel that he had offended her.

"General Wei, hurry up, otherwise the army will start to march and His Highness will be unable to use us."

Yue Jiang noticed that Wei You's expression had softened. Her goal wasn't just to make Wei You feel guilty, but also to make Jing Yan think about her future.

Mo was even busier after arriving at Jing Palace, and didn't have time to visit her anymore.

Thinking it was for His Highness's good, Wei You quickly accepted it, his expression of thanks stiff and somewhat amusing: "Thank you, Princess Yue Jiang."

Before Yue Jiang could speak again, he rode off on horseback.

Granny Ye poked her head out, looking at the grass and dust kicked up by the horses' hooves, her eyes filled with satisfaction.

"Your Highness has a good idea. It's difficult to win over General Wei simply by using it, but when applied to His Highness, it's no different from winning him over in General Wei's eyes."

Wei You's figure had become a black dot, and Yue Jiang's eyes were distant: "If you want to move His Highness, you must turn the obstacles around him into a smooth road."

However, Yue Jiang has not yet met another person, Rong Ying, Jing Yan's strategist. He tested her and she doesn't know if he is an enemy or a friend.

When Wei You arrived at the front of the army, the army doctor was changing Jing Yan's dressing during lunchtime. Everyone paused when they saw the Yue Kingdom wound ointment that Wei You had brought.

A moment later, Jing Yan took out the ointment from the box. As soon as the lid was opened, the military doctor smelled it and praised it highly.

"Your Highness, this ointment is of the highest quality. It can heal wounds and remove scars, and it will be of great use in healing Your Highness's injuries."

"Since it's so useful, hurry up and let His Highness use it. Don't... let Princess Yuejiang's good intentions go to waste," Rong Ying teased Jing Yan with amusement.

Wei You urged, "Okay, use it quickly. Is one bottle enough? If not, I'll ask Princess Yue Jiang for a few more."

"That's enough," the military doctor said, already getting to work, his mouth never stopping as he worked: "This medicine is more effective than ordinary wound ointments and will help His Highness's injuries heal faster."

As Jing Yan bandaged his wound, Rong Ying found the situation increasingly amusing. After teasing Jing Yan, she then made fun of Wei You.

She glanced at him and said, "Wei You, didn't you say you didn't want to stay behind Princess Yuejiang? Why are you suddenly asking the princess for medicine?"

Wei You felt guilty: "Princess Yuejiang gave it to me because she was concerned about Your Highness's injuries. I didn't ask for it, but this medicine is good, so I couldn't refuse it."

“Oh,” Rong Ying glanced back at Jing Yan, her voice drawn out with a hidden meaning, “So it’s Princess Yue Jiang who’s thinking about Your Highness!”

Jing Yan: "..."

Wei You failed to understand the hidden meaning in Rong Ying's words. After delivering the medicine, he cupped his hands and said, "Your Highness, this humble general will return now."

"Wait a minute," Jing Yan called out to Wei You, glanced at Rong Ying, and said carefully, "Is Princess Yue Jiang still getting used to the marching speed?"
