Chapter 48: Yue Jiang Jingyan and Yue Lang put on a show of affection in front of Yue Lang.

Yue Lang is the dissolute young prince who has been pestering Yue Jiang in the Yue Kingdom.

He was a womanizer with several concubines at home. Last year, he took a fancy to Yue Jiang and insisted on taking her as a concubine. She found many reasons to keep Yue Lang from doing so.

Later, when the people of Anguo came to choose a consort, Yuejiang took a gamble and made herself the Crown Princess of Anguo.

For Yue Jiang to have a legitimate reason for marrying into the royal family, the woman who happened to be the heir of Yue Lang's father, the royal family, became the nominal brother and sister.

Is there no one left in the Moon Kingdom? Let him come.

"No, it's just that I haven't seen you in so long, brother. I'm so happy I don't know what to do."

Yue Jiang and Jing Yan made up some excuses, but little did they know that Yue Lang would arrive right in front of them.

The Moon Kingdom is known for its handsome men and women. Yue Lang, around twenty years old, has red lips and white teeth, a handsome face, slightly upturned eyebrows, and a radiant appearance.

He maintained a smile in front of Yue Jiang, his attitude friendly: "Is my little sister really this happy to see her brother?"

Yue Jiang knew that Yue Lang was always unruly, and since she had been discovered, she could only respond with a forced smile: "Of course."

Yue Lang carefully observed Yue Jiang's expression, paying close attention, and finally spoke as if he were longing for her.

“I also miss my sister very much, so this time I took the initiative to ask my uncle, the Emperor, to send me to see her.”

"Brother, you're so kind," Yue Jiang continued to brush off Yue Lang.

Yuelang chuckled softly, then waved his fan and headed towards his seat.

As an envoy of the Yue Kingdom, he chatted and laughed with Jing Huaixu during the banquet. After the banquet, Yue Lang was temporarily placed in Jing Palace.

Soon after, Yue Lang found Qi Luan Palace under the pretext of catching up with his sister. Jing Yan had just brought Yue Jiang back and hadn't left yet. When he saw Yue Lang arrive so quickly, he concealed his surprise.

Rong Ying said that Yue Lang kept asking about Yue Jiang along the way, showing great concern. Jing Yan observed that Yue Lang was also an unrestrained person.

Fearing he might say something wrong, and not wanting to leave too easily, Jingyan and Yuejiang Yuelang sat for a while longer.

The three sat facing each other. Granny Ye watched as none of them spoke first, but an undercurrent of tension simmered between them.

She carried the tea to the table and said, "Your Highness, please have some tea; Princess, please have some tea; Young Prince, please have some tea."

Yue Lang leisurely picked up his teacup, gently blew on it, took a sip of tea, glanced at Yue Jiang, and finally looked at Jing Yan with a sigh.

"My sister has endured a difficult journey for the past six months to marry into the royal family; she should be..."

He paused deliberately, and seeing that Yue Jiang's expression was calm, Jing Yan raised his eyes, his deep gaze concealing a profound meaning.

On the surface, Yue Lang didn't seem to care, but he pursed his lips and continued talking, his words turning into expressions of concern.

"Coming to Jing Kingdom has been tough. I heard that my sister was injured once. Is her head alright now?"

Yue Lang nodded and spoke to Yue Jiang. Yue Jiang first thanked Yue Lang, who was her older brother, for his concern, and then thanked Jing Yan with a smile.

"Your Highness has been very attentive to Jiang'er, and she has recovered long ago."

If Yue Lang had any sense, he wouldn't have spoken recklessly, otherwise it would have affected the Moon Kingdom.

Jing Yan comforted her, saying, "It was my fault for not protecting Jiang'er properly. It's only right that I take better care of her."

Yuelang watched the two exchanging glances as if they were one, and gave a faint sneer, her words tinged with sourness.

"Seeing that Your Highness and your sister have such a good relationship, I, as the older brother, am truly happy."

"But Your Highness, please don't be offended. My sister is still my sister, and I am truly reluctant to see her marry so far away."

"Now that I see you again, I still feel a bit sentimental. If only my sister hadn't been sent to a foreign land for political reasons, she could have stayed in the Moon Kingdom with her brother and enjoyed a life of luxury."

"It's not like the older brother doesn't love his younger sister; he can take care of her for the rest of his life."

Yue Jiang said casually, not even glancing at him: "Brother is joking. I am a woman and will eventually get married. I am happy that I can marry for the sake of friendship between our two countries."

She smiled at Jing Yan, her eyes filled with a tender and earnest affection that she hadn't shown before, leaving Jing Yan momentarily stunned and unable to process what she had just seen.

"Your Highness treats me with sincerity, and I will reciprocate with your sincere love. Brother, please rest assured."

Yue Jiang had often expressed affectionate words to Jing Yan before, but this was the most serious she had ever been, and the only time Jing Yan felt that Yue Jiang's words were true.

Perhaps it was because Yue Lang was in front of him, but Yue Lang's concern for Yue Jiang made Jing Yan feel a little uncomfortable.

He not only smiled at Yue Jiang, but also reached out and held her soft hand, his face full of tenderness, but there was an inexplicable sense of defiance in his heart.

"Don't worry, Your Highness. Jiang'er is my Crown Princess. I will not let Jiang'er down."

Seeing how intimate the two of them were, Yue Lang felt that what he had just said was meaningless. He picked up his cup and drank it down, and to those who didn't know better, it looked like he was drinking.

"I didn't expect my sister and His Highness to have reached this point. It seems that I, as the elder brother, am worrying too much."

Yue Jiang glanced at Yue Lang's face, which was extremely unpleasant, but she couldn't detect any joy in it.

After a while, Yue Lang made an excuse that he wouldn't stay any longer, and Jing Yan left with him.

Once there were no outsiders in the hall, Granny Ye and Qingke breathed a sigh of relief.

Young Qingke patted her flustered heart and asked worriedly, "Why did the young prince come here? Is he still not giving up on the princess?"

“What can we do if we’re not willing to give up? The princess is already the Crown Princess of Jing Kingdom,” Granny Ye corrected.

Qingke and Granny Ye complained for a long time, but unexpectedly Yuelang returned and leaned against the door, teasing them.

"You're quite clever. You were going to be implicated by Anguo and become a slave of Jingguo, but you lost your memory and became the Crown Princess of Jingyan, and you're even in love with him."

Qingke and Granny Ye exchanged a stiff glance, and Yuejiang told them to go out and keep watch.

She immediately denied it, saying, "What are you talking about? I don't understand. Is this bad for the Yue Kingdom? Don't tell me the Emperor sent you here just to sabotage me."

Yue Lang remained silent. The Emperor had not sent him here to dismantle Yue Jiang Terrace, but rather to make Yue Jiang's status as the Crown Princess of Jing Kingdom legitimate.
