At 7:30 a.m., Ming's parents left home on time, as they had an important meeting to attend today.
Ming Shigao got up early today, which was unusual for him, and had breakfast with his parents. Right at the door, he gave each of them a big hug.
Goodbye, Dad and Mom!
Watching his parents' car taillights disappear into the distance, Ming Shigao smiled wickedly.
Back in his bedroom, Ming Shigao fiddled with a large, contraband firecracker, about the size of his fist, glancing down at his watch every now and then.
08:52
"Alright, as usual, you've now arrived at the cross-sea bridge. Go, Pikachu!"
A dazzling light flashed, and the large firecracker lit in the master's hand vanished instantly.
Three to five seconds later, with a muffled firecracker sound that wasn't too loud, a black, extended luxury car broke through the guardrail and drove into the rushing Red River.
After overcoming numerous difficulties, the Anding Division finally managed to salvage the wrecked vehicle, but Ming's parents inside had already passed away long ago.
The firecrackers weren't very powerful; although they exploded right in front of Mingfu in the driver's seat, they only blinded him.
Due to the sudden sound of firecrackers, Ming's mother fainted and lost the ability to survive.
Forensic examination determined that both individuals died from drowning.
However, An Dingsi could never explain where the firecrackers lit in the carriage came from.
The newly built cross-sea bridge is equipped with a comprehensive road monitoring system, and no suspicious targets were seen around the crashed vehicle before the incident.
Ming Shigao's parents were ultimately ruled to have died in an accidental fall into the sea, and Ming Shigao successfully avenged his parents.
At the end of this chapter, the manga artist Aoba playfully used the tone of the boss Yasusada from the manga to solemnly declare: "This was indeed an accident! There is no so-called culprit! It's impossible for any culprit to escape from under my nose!"
“This Yuanyuan is interesting. She used her imagination to elaborate on the cause of her parents’ death and also used comics to satirize our Anding Division.” Xiong Yingjun muttered to himself. “Actually, the scene of the case back then was far more complicated than this, but due to the principle of confidentiality, we cannot tell the family too much. I hope you can understand, Yuanyuan.”
"The case was ultimately classified as an accident, indeed because of our inadequacy. Your parents still had a certain influence in society at the time, and if we hadn't downplayed it, it would have had a huge impact on the newly built cross-sea bridge!"
"After reading your comic, I actually hope that superpowered individuals really are involved. That would at least prove that we are not incompetent, and I would feel more at ease!"
"But in reality, do these superpowers that cannot be explained by science really exist?"
Xiong Sifu secretly decided that when he returned to the Anding Division, he would take a closer look at the case from back then. After so many years, would he have a sudden flash of inspiration and discover any suspicious points that he had overlooked before?
Xiong Sifu was a man of action; he did what he thought of immediately. He put down his phone, changed back into his black uniform, and rushed to Anding Division.
As soon as I entered the gate, I ran into Li Nan, who was getting ready to go out on a field mission. I said to him, "Li, when you have time, keep an eye on the author Qing Yu. You might be interested in her comics!"
Li Nan verbally agreed, but in her heart she was wondering what was wrong with these people today. Did they take bribes from the author? Just now, Li Na also asked her to read a comic, which seemed to be by this Qing Yu, called something like "My Secret".
Let's wait and see when we have some free time. Li Na might act recklessly, but her coach won't!
Xiong Sifu went straight to the archives department, filled in the required information, and then went directly to the difficult case file area. He found the file for 4209, which happened to contain only one file: "Case of Death by Fall from Cross-Sea Bridge".
Xiong Sifu opened the case file, and a familiar case reappeared.
Date: Monday, December 14, 4209
Casualties: 2 (drowning)
Zhang Zhenxing, male, 50 years old, chairman of Tanhua Seafood Supermarket, president of the Deep-Sea Fishing Association...
Peng Chunhua, female, 48 years old, a section chief in the Education Department of Tanhua City...
Accident process:
At 8:15 a.m. on the 14th, Zhang Zhenhua and his wife Peng Chunhua drove from the Tanhua City government compound to the Lakeside Moonlight residential area to attend a homeowners' meeting.
At 8:41, we entered the cross-sea bridge;
At 8:52 a.m., at the K0+14 position of the bridge, an explosion occurred in the driver's cab of a car for unknown reasons. The car went out of control, broke through the median barrier of the bridge, collided with the oncoming No. 44 bus, and then broke through the side guardrail and fell into the lake.
At 17:43 on the 15th, the accident vehicle was found at a location in the riverbed about 67 kilometers downstream (see attached photo). The driver and passengers inside the vehicle showed no signs of life.
Test results:
Zhang Zhenxing drowned; trace amounts of alcohol were found on his body, suggesting possible drunk driving (his family refused an autopsy, so this remains uncertain); he was confirmed to be speeding at 140 kilometers per hour.
Peng Chunhua drowned...
Expert opinion:
Driver Zhang Zhenxing was driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. Due to a sudden vehicle malfunction, he made an operational error, which caused the accident... ultimately resulting in the drowning deaths of both the driver and the passenger.
More than ten years ago, Xiong Sifu had already reviewed this case file countless times.
In order to minimize the impact on the cross-sea bridge, the Anseiji immediately announced to the public that this was an accident caused by drunk driving and speeding.
However, the Ansei Division still spent a lot of time and energy investigating the case.
After three months, there was still no progress. Xiong Yingjun was already a judge in the Department of Destiny at the time, but this case affected his career. Now he has reached the rank of Director, which should be the end of his career, unless he gets incredibly lucky and finds out the truth of the case someday.
