Chapter 71 The Last Supper (Part 2)

"It's all my fault, I'm sorry, everyone. How about some red wine? Red wine? Red wine?"

Peng Yuanyuan made a triple joke: she doesn't usually drink much, and now it seems that the only thing in the villa is a case of red wine that she can't remember when she bought it.

"Want to drink more?" Li Nan knew from Qin Wen's comment that something was missing that Qin Wen was unhappy with him again.

"Sigh, a poor alcohol tolerance is a man's original sin!"

Li Nan's objections were ineffective, and Peng Yuanyuan had already gone to the basement to get the red wine.

After Peng Yuanyuan left, Li Nan and Qin Wen exchanged a glance, only to realize that they had both forgotten about the basement of the villa.

What a mistake! This is the difference between the poor and the rich!

How could she have forgotten that the apartment complex had a basement? Li Nan couldn't help but feel guilty. Luckily, she had found the suspected fish tank as evidence; otherwise, she would have just come here for dinner!

The occasion was inappropriate, and Li Nan and Qin Wen didn't dare to talk about anything else. The three people at the table quietly cooked beef and ate matsutake mushrooms.

Within three to five minutes, Peng Yuanyuan returned carrying a case of red wine.

"Li Nan, there's a bottle opener and wine glasses in the cabinet behind you. Could you please get them?"

Are you really going to drink it?

Li Nan cried out in her heart as she reluctantly opened the cabinet and took out cups and bottle openers one by one.

Gao Siming, with his sharp eyes, pointed to the corner of the cabinet and said, "There's also a decanter, don't forget it!"

Li Nan's face darkened even more.

After dinner, Qin Wen helped the unconscious Li Nan into the car, contacted a designated driver on her phone, and first took Gao Siming back to 103 before turning around and going home.

Looking at Li Nan, who was fast asleep on her shoulder, Qin Wen couldn't help but sigh.

"Qin Wen, what sins have you committed to end up with such a man!"

"If he hadn't been the one to discover the truth back then, if I had taken the initiative more, would the outcome have been different?"

Back at their respective residences, Gao Siming and Peng Yuanyuan were each preoccupied with their own thoughts.

In Building 68, Peng Yuanyuan carefully inspected the ingredients that the three people had brought today.

Li Nan and the others wouldn't come to my house for no reason. Since they're here, Li Nan and Qin Wen must want to find out something from here.

It's hard to say about Gao Siming. Last time, I just gave him some blue-striped pufferfish, and he went on to plan 38 mistress incidents and car bombings.

This time, he came here in person. What will he leave behind this time?

Peng Yuanyuan checked all the ingredients several times, but still found nothing.

I glanced at the empty fish tank on the balcony. "This is a problem! Although I flushed the water and pufferfish down the drain, the tank is too big, and my car is broken down, so I can't get it out of there for the time being!"

"What if we break it up and ship it in batches?"

Peng Yuanyuan's mind raced as she looked around.

Until my gaze inadvertently swept over the trash can by the door, besides today's kitchen waste, there were only those two boxes containing matsutake mushrooms.

Peng Yuanyuan then remembered that Li Nan had said that this matsutake mushroom was the only gift from Gao Siming today.

Could there be another secret hidden in this box?

Peng Yuanyuan picked up the two boxes, examined them from both sides, and found nothing unusual.

The one-kilogram box is not large, and it is lined with a lot of soft paper strips and plastic supports for cushioning.

"A note?"

Peng Yuanyuan removed all the paper strips and plastic supports, and sure enough, the secret was revealed!

On the bottom of each box, there was a line of text written:

Run! Run! Run!

If you're too late, you won't be able to escape!

It was Gao Siming's handwriting, which Peng Yuanyuan naturally recognized.

Villa No. 103, Gao Siming came to the third-floor window.

Looking eastward, the lights were still on in Peng Yuanyuan's room.

Will she notice the warning in the box? Will she believe it? After all, we were once in love. Let this meal be the end of our relationship!

Gao Siming looked down at the time on his phone; it was almost eleven o'clock.

"Li Nan probably won't wake up tonight. I wonder what they've found tonight? That idiot Maria wouldn't have actually left evidence in this villa, would she?"

Gao Siming smiled slightly, "It's alright. All of this in the villa is just a prelude. When Li Nan calls tomorrow, Peng Yuanyuan, you won't be able to escape!"

Peng Yuanyuan's matter was about to end, but Gao Siming felt no emptiness or loss, because he had something even more important to do next!

If one does not avenge his parents, he is unworthy to be a son!

As night fell, the lakeside community returned to silence.

Tonight's dinner for four is something none of the four people present know; it's their first and last time dining together.

This is the Last Supper!
