Chapter 1 Epilogue 3: The End (1.69)
The series is finished! Hooray!
After finishing the book, Cang Yue, who had lived for over thirty years, wrote these three words for the first time!
I used to tell my friends that I liked writing and that I enjoyed writing things, and I even called myself a third-rate writer.
But over the years, apart from a thick stack of diaries or dozens or hundreds of pages of design proposals, it seems that he has not written much else.
Let's get back to the main topic. This is my first completed novel. It took 66 days and a mere 400,000 words to finish. Today it's finally over, and I really should write a few words to commemorate it!
In every book by every author, there is more or less the author's own shadow, and Cang Yue is no exception.
Gao Siming in the book embodies two traits that originated from Cang Yue herself.
Firstly, of course, is Gao Siming's culinary skills. In reality, Cang Yue was indeed a master chef. Why "in the past"? You'll find out in the second part.
Cang Yue has personally cooked for every meal at the tea processing plant, the 103 villas, or the Orange Garden!
Having done it before, but now powerless to do it again, Cang Yue can only bring it to life in her novels.
So, let's talk about the second point. Astute readers will have already guessed it: Gao Siming's DSTH. In reality, this disease is called multiple sclerosis, a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system.
Those who are interested can look it up themselves!
The specific symptoms are the same as described in the novel, except that Cang Yue was not as lucky as Gao Siming, and did not have the help of Sui Wen and Gou Dan. So, everyone should know what Cang Yue is like now.
The novel was written over sixty days from the first word to its completion. This was an attempt by Cang Yue when she was at her wit's end. Because it was just an attempt, Cang Yue didn't have any expectations. She just wanted to finish it and not have a bad ending.
Thankfully, it's over!
Therefore, this was destined to be a work that was doomed to fail.
But Cang Yue didn't care!
Let's continue talking about novels!
I've heard before that once a novel is completed, the author loses complete control over the characters.
Before writing this novel, Cang Yue was skeptical about it.
From conception to writing, Cang Yue constructed a complete outline, detailed outline, character settings, and story ending.
Details down to the timing and order of each character's appearance, and their fate...
It can be said that, starting from the Plum Blossom Academy in the novel, the fates of all characters, whether main or supporting, are predetermined by the detailed outline.
The original ending of the story was a tragedy. Gao Siming died, Peng Yuanyuan died early, Qin Wen also died later, leaving only Li Nan, who lived alone in the mental hospital!
However, when I was halfway through the novel, I realized something was wrong!
The outline is still the same, and it hasn't gone off-topic, but the characters in it are having problems!
The first to break free from control was Gao Siming.
The book is called "Killing Dog Egg: It Turns Out I Was the Mastermind." According to the setting, Gao Siming is supposed to sacrifice himself at the end of the story. On the final cliff, there are only him and Li Nan. In the end, only Li Nan goes down the mountain alone, and no one knows what happened up there.
However, Gao Siming was unwilling; he didn't want this ending. He told Li Nan the truth about the poisoning, giving her guidance time and again. Ultimately, I had to award him the medals for Best Citizen and Outstanding Youth. That wasn't enough; he also brought in Han Xiaoxiao from the Octopus Clan, making her a substitute for Blood Rose. In the final battle, Han Xiaoxiao died, and Gao Siming successfully changed his fate, even marrying a twin sister named Wang Xiaoqi?
Honestly, I didn't know that Octopus had a poor little sister named Han Xiaoxiao until the day before I finished writing this farewell speech!
To this day, I still don't know who Wang Xiaoqi is. She and Chen Kexin are identical twins. Who are they?
(Note: I didn't find out who they were until I finished the outline of my new novel!)
Let's talk about Qin Wen. In the original plot, Qin Wen was not pregnant, not even when she committed suicide by cutting her wrists.
But I really don't understand why Qin Wen got pregnant. Could it be that this child is really Gao Siming's?
Honestly, Qin Wen didn't know, and neither did I!
Next, let's talk about the world setting of the novel!
The novel's main text doesn't describe much about its world-building.
It's not that I didn't have a design, nor that I didn't want to write one.
The truth is, the world setting of the novel is neither a fictional world nor a parallel world to Earth. It is a broken world with a beginning and an end, which has evolved on its own for millions of years!
It can be considered a real world! A real world that has been evolving in Cang Yue's mind.
Cang Yue's only function is to reproduce the stories that have already happened or are happening in this world exactly as they happened!
As for alteration? I'm sorry, Cang Yue really can't do that!
Yes, the novel "Killing Dog Egg" is just a drop in the ocean of the entire Cangyue world!
Next, of course, there will be a next one, and the one after that.
The latest novel, "Rebirth: Soul Travels Two Thousand Years Later," will be released soon!
In the new story, there will be at least one plus half a familiar character. Can you guess who they are?
I'm not going to tell you right now!
Anyway, you'll find out in the first chapter!
The next story will gradually introduce the worldview of the entire Canghai Great World, but only a part of it. It is about the carnival before the end of the world.
Hua Ren Kingdom, Qing Jun Kingdom (spoiler alert, related to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which is only mentioned by name but never seen in this novel), and the Red Dragon Kingdom where the protagonist of the new story is born—is it the end of the world, or a technological golden age? Or just an insignificant grain of sand in the rolling torrent of history?
The Cangyue Great World, which has lasted for more than eight thousand years, will gradually unveil its broken veil to everyone.
The new story, plot, and outline are all complete. As always, anything produced by Cang Yue is guaranteed to be a masterpiece! Completeness is assured, so enjoy!
Finally, there's one more secret I have to tell you: Li Nan is actually a real-world top-level criminal police officer. Some of the plot points in the novel were inspired by conversations with this police captain over drinks. Can you guess what case it was?
As for Li Nan's actual alcohol tolerance, what do you think? Hahaha...
Shh! I'm just writing this quietly, Captain Li doesn't know yet, so please don't tell him!
