Chapter 66 I've seen it because you don't love me.
Ke Yanchen was delayed at the hospital for nearly two hours. By the time he arrived at the company, Tong Panshan of Zhiyu Capital had already left. When Ke Yanchen went to visit him again, Tong Panshan had already left Nanhai City, and this round of financing had completely failed.
Although it was Tong Panshan who changed the itinerary at the last minute, Ke Yanchen really needed cash flow to revitalize the project, so he had to lower his stance.
Because of the Zhiyu Capital incident, Ke Yanchen was even called home by his father, Ke Qingfeng, and given a scolding. With Zhenpin Real Estate pressing him relentlessly, he was dealing with a chaotic situation at the company, even contemplating whether to sell a few houses, when unexpectedly, Yu Wu proactively approached him with a contract.
Yu Wu came to the Ke family's office on Tuesday morning. She went to Ke Yanchen's office, looked around briefly, and then sat down.
She produced a loan agreement with a profit margin one percentage point higher than that of banks, pledging all the properties under his name.
Yu Wu looked troubled. "I kept telling my mom we didn't want the profits or to mortgage your property, but my family wouldn't allow it and lectured me for a long time. Ke Ke, I'm sorry, it was my fault. But I got it done for you. The money will be transferred two hours after the mortgage registration is completed!"
Ke Yanchen lowered his eyes, carefully examined the contract, and said with a sardonic smile, "Auntie knows quite a bit about the properties under my name."
Yu Wu was a little embarrassed. "Such a large sum of money definitely needs to be investigated. My mom said that if we get married, we won't have to pay interest."
Ke Yanchen raised an eyebrow and smiled slightly: "Want to get married?"
"Stop teasing me." Yu Wu's face turned completely red.
Ke Yanchen took the pen and quickly signed his name.
"So soon? Won't you reconsider?"
"I'm not considering it anymore." He handed Yu Wu a cup of hot water, his dark eyes gazing intently at her. "Anyway, we're going to get married anyway."
Yu Wu immediately dared not look at him, and took the hot water and drank it in small sips.
Ke Yanchen found her shy appearance adorable. He reached out and took the cup, placing it on the table. He then put his arm around her slender waist and said in a deep voice, "Have lunch with me."
Yu Wu smiled and nodded in agreement.

With the funds brought by Yuwu, Ke's situation was greatly improved.
Perhaps because the contract concerned marriage, Ke Yanchen felt his relationship with Yu Wu had grown stronger. If they got married, he planned to give all the mortgaged properties to Yu Wu.
With work going smoothly and his mind wandering, Ke Yanchen would think of her whenever he had a spare moment.
Yu Wu had become more enthusiastic towards him recently, saying that this batch of projects could enter a new phase and that he could take a short break. So, Ke Yanchen took the opportunity to suggest taking Yu Wu on vacation to a neighboring city.
On Friday, Ke Yanchen arrived at the Yuwu Company building early.
A moment later, Yu Wu, wearing black-rimmed glasses and carrying a mini travel bag, walked over.
"Keke!"
Ke Yanchen took her bag and opened the car door for her.
On the bus, Ke Yanchen chatted about some interesting things he had accumulated, and Yu Wu laughed heartily, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
The light ahead was red, and Ke Yanchen rested his head on his hand, waiting for a while. He glanced at her, and some vague memories rushed back into his mind, wanting to delve deeper but becoming even more hazy. He spoke in a low voice, "You wear black-rimmed glasses, which gives me a familiar feeling. I feel like we've met before, but I can't remember at all."
The carriage was quiet. Yu Wu lowered her eyelashes, turned her head to look out the window, and spoke in a playful tone, but her voice carried a certain loneliness.
"Because you don't love me."
Ke Yanchen was suddenly startled and called out anxiously, "Yu Zi?"
Yu Wu turned her head, took off her black-rimmed glasses, and raised her eyebrows with a smile. "What's wrong?"
The honking of the car behind pulled Ke Yanchen out of his reverie. He gently pressed the accelerator and said it was nothing.
—He must have seen Yuwu before.
Yu Wu put her glasses back in her bag, deciding not to wear them again. She had undergone LASIK surgery before, but recently her eyes had been sore from looking at the computer too often, so she started wearing blue light glasses.

After Ke Yanchen picked up Zan Ya, Yu Wu was visibly happier, chattering incessantly the whole way.
Two hours later, we arrived at a resort in Qinghe City, a blend of modern and traditional architecture. It was a high-end members-only entertainment venue with comprehensive facilities.
The resort is situated in a prime location atop the mountain, offering a view of the snow-capped peaks opposite. Bathed in the glow of the setting sun, the originally pristine white snow-capped peaks are tinged with warm hues of orange and crimson, appearing sacred and holy.
The evening breeze carried the coolness of the mountain peaks, and the mist seemed to shrink back. The group walked towards their rooms, the wind chimes on the eaves tinkling, and the stone path of the villa was illuminated by smart floor lamps, casting patches of light of varying shades.
......
Yu Wu shared a suite with Zan Ya that night, while Ke Yanchen and Ye Ren stayed in the next room.
As I was packing my things in the room, someone knocked on the door. When I opened it, it was Ke Yanchen who brought me a pot of longan and lotus seed tea.
He leaned lazily against the doorframe, his tall and dignified figure slouching, his nonchalant voice tinged with languor: "Longan and lotus seed tea nourishes the blood and calms the mind, suitable for post-menstrual recovery."
He wore a casual black and white checkered silk pajama set, which made his skin look clean, his height and long legs stand out, and he exuded a gentle, domestic husband vibe.
Yu Wu took the tray and placed it on the table. Then she skipped and jumped into Ke Yanchen's arms, where he caught her steadily.
"My Coco is the best to me!"
Zan Ya's cheeks flushed slightly. She coughed twice to make sure she was there and quickly went into the room. "You two lovebirds, take your time being all lovey-dovey!"
Yu Wu and Ke Yanchen exchanged a smile.
Yu Wu tiptoed and rubbed her cheek against Ke Yanchen's neck, saying in a sweet and coquettish voice, "We young lovers should be this affectionate."
Ke Yanchen lowered his eyelids, his intense gaze more profound than the night light filtering through the windowpane. He kissed her forehead, his voice laced with amusement as he whispered in her ear, "Will you let me kiss you?"
A warm, lingering breath entered her ear, and Yu Wu, like a proud kitten, raised her head and said, "No."
He could only look at the soft, fragrant woman in his arms, unable to touch her. Ke Yanchen pinched Yu Wu's waist, his voice filled with a helpless resentment: "These young lovers aren't even that affectionate."
Yu Wu couldn't help but laugh.
Under Ke Yanchen's supervision, Yu Wu drank most of a pot of longan and lotus seed tea before going to sleep.
When he left, his gaze almost burned a hole through her.

The next day, Yu Wu and Zan Ya spent the morning playing near the villa, with Ke Yanchen and Ye Ren acting as their bodyguards. When they arrived at their lunch spot, they encountered two unexpected guests.
Zhou Jin and Yuan Yin.
Ke Yanchen put his arm around Yu Wu's shoulder from behind, pulled out a chair and helped her sit down, his voice deep: "Let me introduce you, this is my friend Zhou Jin."
"Yu Wu, my girlfriend."
Zhou Jin is now as thin as a bamboo pole, with sunken eyes, and he has a strange, meaningful smile on his face.
"Yes, I know him. We're old acquaintances."
Yu Wu felt a chill run down her spine. She raised her eyelashes to glance at him, swallowed hard, and desperately tried to suppress the trembling in her spine.
Zhou Jin's current predicament is entirely due to Cheng Yi; he must hate her to death too.
Ke Yanchen slightly raised his eyebrows, his tone calm: "How did you meet?"
Yuan Yin nudged Zhou Jin with her elbow and explained with a laugh, "He's just joking. How long have you been here? What do you think of the place?"
As Ye Ren and Yuan Yin chatted, Ke Yanchen noticed that Yu Wu seemed a bit down and asked her if she was alright.
Yu Wu shook her head with a smile.
Zan Ya whispered in Yu Wu's ear, "Zhou Jin has been watching you."
Yu Wu lowered her head and hummed in agreement, "Don't worry about him."
The dishes were served, and Ke Yanchen served Yu Wu some food while chatting with Zhou Jin about the financial projects he wanted to work on.
Through their chat messages, Yu Wu learned that Zhou Jin's family had lost all their foundation, and he had become a pariah in Nanhai City, forcing him to come to Qinghe City. Zhou Jin still wanted to engage in illegal lending, but Ke Yanchen suggested he try legitimate projects.
Yu Wu was actually a little curious. Zhou Jin and Ke Yanchen were like oil and water in high school, so how did they become friends now? Did Ke Yanchen know that Zhou Jin used to harass her at night?
......
"Yu Zi?" Ke Yanchen called to her, "What are you thinking about? You haven't even eaten much."
Yu Wu snapped out of her daze, smiled, and lowered her head to eat.
"He's thinking about men, isn't he?" Zhou Jin stared intently at Yu Wu. "Am I right, Miss Yu?"
Yu Wu didn't look up, but Zan Ya silently took her hand under the table.
Ke Yanchen gave him a cold, displeased look and warned, "Shut your stinking mouth."
Zhou Jin shut his mouth, looking unconvinced, and picked at the food in his bowl with his chopsticks.
The atmosphere at the table quieted down. Ye Ren and Yuan Yin exchanged a glance and wisely kept quiet.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was eerily quiet.
Halfway through the meal, Ke Yanchen went out to answer a client's call.
As soon as Ke Yanchen left, Zhou Jin immediately started causing trouble.
"Miss Yu is really something. I bet all the men in the world were won over by sleeping with them, right?"
"Hey, you've gone too far!" Ye Ren stepped in to smooth things over, clicking his tongue in disdain: "Your mouth really stinks now."
"You've all been fooled by her!" Zhou Jin slammed down his chopsticks, leaning back in his chair with an air of utter indifference. "Do you know how cunning she is? She's clearly a woman who's been with by many, but she pretends to be innocent and harmless. Even Cheng Yi was completely fooled by her!"
Ye Ren: "How can you talk about a girl like that? Okay, okay, stop talking. Ke Zi won't let you off the hook when she gets back."
Zhou Jin then kindly advised Zan Ya: "Miss Zan, don't get involved with this kind of rotten woman. Otherwise, you might end up selling yourself."
Yu Wu, who had been quietly eating with her head down, suddenly glared at Zhou Jin with a fearless aura the moment she heard him slander Zan Ya.
Zhou Jin squinted at Yu Wu, whistling a roguish tune with an expression that said, "You can't do anything to me." The next moment, everything went black, and a tremendous force slammed into his face. The porcelain bowl shattered with a bang, splattering soup and liquid all over his face.
Yuan Yin jumped up with a start, screaming, "Yu Wu, what's wrong with you?"
Zhou Jin felt a stinging pain on his face, and liquid flowed down his face. He squinted and hissed as he probed the wound on his brow bone with his fingertips.
The commotion was so loud that all the diners who were dining quietly turned to look.
"Stop spewing filth from your mouth, you uncivilized scum, all you think about is sex." Yu Wu laughed again, "Sorry, I forgot, you're impotent now."
The onlookers began to whisper among themselves.
Touched on a sore spot, Zhou Jin's ears burned, feeling as if she had trampled on his dignity as a man. His eyes blazed with intense hatred, and ignoring the injuries on his face from the broken porcelain shards, he charged at Yu Wu like a desperate beast at the end of its rope.
Chaos reigned.
The restaurant staff and manager all came over to mediate. Yuan Yin and Ye Ren held Zhou Jin back tightly, while Yu Wu took the opportunity to throw cups and bowls at Zhou Jin, aiming them all at his face.
Zhou Jin's eyes were bloodshot, filled with a sinister ruthlessness.
Yu Wu glared at him defiantly.
Zhou Jin used all his strength to break free from his restraints and rushed over to kill Yu Wu, but the moment his fist shot out, it was firmly grabbed by a pair of strong arms.
Then Yu Wu saw Ke Yanchen, whose face was gloomy and ruthless.
He abandoned his usual nonchalant attitude, leaving only a distant and aloof aura. He shielded Yu Wu behind him, grabbed Zhou Jin by the back of the neck, and pulled him outside.
The onlookers in the restaurant who had been watching the spectacle also joined in.
Zhou Jin was dragged along, staggering, his face deathly pale. He groaned as he was thrown outside the restaurant door. His forehead hit the edge of the steps, and before he could turn around, he was punched hard. The dental implant he had gotten after Cheng Yi broke it popped out again. He shouted frantically, "You were tricked by that bitch! Her methods—"
Before he could finish speaking, a second punch landed heavily, making him dizzy and disoriented. The flesh on his cheekbone felt like it was being crushed by iron clamps, and he bit his tongue. His body was covered in blood, soup, and leftover food, making him look utterly wretched.
......
The midday sun shone on Ke Yanchen's tall and straight figure at the doorway; from this angle, Yu Wu could only see his elegant and superior profile.
She stood at the restaurant exit, surrounded by a crowded and murmuring crowd.
Amidst this clamor, Yuwu was caught in an indescribable emotion.
She acted impulsively just now.
Ke Yanchen disliked aggressive girls. During high school, when she fought back against the boys after being bullied, he just watched coldly, then began to mistreat her and resort to passive-aggressive behavior.
Belatedly, she suddenly realized that Ke Yanchen seemed to have accepted her sharp side.
A lump formed in her throat; it was this small act of unwavering support that almost brought tears to her eyes.
She couldn't quite figure out Ke Yanchen anymore.
Clearly, he only likes the soft and boneless dodder flower.
