Chapter 104 One for One

As I came out of Lao Feng's all-purpose shop, I could see from afar that the largest all-purpose shop was crowded with people.

"Make way, make way, give me some space."

"Hey, don't push!"

"Hey! Why are you cutting in line?"

Have you no shame?!

"Who are you calling shameless?"

"You shameless bastard!"

"It's good that you know you're shameless!"

"You bastard..."

Two passersby got into a fight over where they were standing, making the already crowded queue even more chaotic.

"You two, stop fighting! Stop fighting!"

"Exactly! Everyone came early to queue up; it's not easy for anyone."

People nearby, seeing the group becoming increasingly disorganized, quickly spoke up to stop them.

Chuanliu couldn't help but become curious, so she picked up a passerby and asked, "What are we queuing for?"

The passerby looked at Chuanliu with a surprised expression, as if he were an alien. "Don't you know that the First Yorozuya has an event recently?"

"The First Yorozuya?" Kawakami repeated, puzzled.

The man's expression became even stranger. "This is the shop, the number one on Paradise Island. We all call it 'Number One Everything Shop'?"

Another passerby couldn't stand it any longer and chimed in, "Hey bro, you don't know anything, what are you doing here?"

Chuanliu patiently asked, "Could you please clear up my doubts?"

The other person waved his hand, "Since you're new here, I'll teach you this once. The First Yorozuya holds an event every now and then, where you exchange what you know for what you want to know. It's like exchanging information for information."

"Is any message acceptable?"

"Of course not! It must be information that the Yorozuya doesn't know. Depending on the importance of the information provided, you can exchange it for information of the same level."

"This is the only chance to get information without spending money, so of course it's crowded. So it's not surprising that they fight, since the further back in the line you are, the more likely you are to hear the same thing twice."

Kawanyu nodded, admiring the Yorozuya owner's business acumen.

Such an event would definitely be a profitable option for "First Yorozuya".

Not only can you receive the latest news from Paradise Island in a timely manner, but you can also earn a "price difference" by controlling the message level. The key is that it doesn't cost any money, so everyone is happy and feels like they've made a profit.

Human beings are essentially about queuing.

Seeing the queue stretching all the way to the street corner, Chuanliu joined the queue.

It wasn't just for fun; she genuinely had some basic questions to ask.

The procession moved slowly, and more and more people followed behind Chuanliu.

Chuanliu patted the passerby again, "Brother, can I ask you one more question? Did this event just start today?"

The passerby nodded. "The notice was just issued. I bet there are still a lot of people rushing to Wuwang District."

As the two were talking, a commotion suddenly broke out at the front of the group.

Chuanliu craned his neck curiously to look, and saw the person at the front of the line pointing at the other person's nose and shouting angrily.

"What do you mean? We've been queuing for so long, and it's finally our turn. Why can he just go in?" the man asked angrily.

The person being accused, whom I've met before, is the manager of the First Yorozuya. He remained calm and patient, explaining, "Excuse me, customer, please calm down. This gentleman works for our store. He's not here to ask for information and won't be taking up your spot."

Chuanliu looked in the direction of the sound and noticed a mysterious person standing behind the shop manager.

The mysterious man was dressed in a black robe, completely covered up, with not a single patch of skin visible.

Such attire is clearly not in line with the image of the store's employees.

The customer at the head of the line clearly wasn't buying the manager's explanation. He raised his voice eight octaves and continued to argue, "Your First Yorozuya is a big company that bullies its customers, deceiving consumers in broad daylight, isn't that right! I don't believe he works for your store unless he takes off that tattered robe and lets everyone see what kind of person he really is!"

These words were like a spark, instantly igniting the atmosphere at the scene.

The people in line began to whisper among themselves, and their emotions gradually became agitated.

The store manager knew something was wrong, so he quickly called over a staff member and escorted the mysterious man into the store. Then, he turned to face the crowd and began to calm them down.

He sincerely apologized and promised to provide everyone present with an extra message as compensation. The crowd gradually calmed down.

Although some people were still whispering and speculating about the identity of the mysterious person, the group had returned to its previous order.

As Chuanliu moved along with the group, he pondered the identity of the mysterious man.

If she wasn't mistaken, this mysterious person was the owner of the First Everything Shop.

First, there was the store manager's attitude towards him. Although the two did not communicate, the store manager was always respectful to the mysterious man, even more so than he was to normal customers.

Secondly, the fact that the store manager was willing to risk being questioned about the Yorozuya's professionalism to force the mysterious person in shows that he prioritized the mysterious person's importance.

Chuanliu had previously revealed that the First Yorozuya had a boss, and seeing him today, it seems that the boss is even more mysterious than she imagined.

The sudden one-for-one exchange event today was probably because of this boss.

Afterwards, the queue finally became very long, and she was led inside by a shop assistant and sat in the information booth.

"Hello, what information can I provide?"

"Lei Lao Jiu of the Spade City died in the Diamond City."

"Sorry, we already have this message."

"A new 'Cube 2' and a 'Cube 3' have arrived in the City of Cubes."

"Sorry, we already have this message."

"The former '10 of Diamonds' was driven to suicide by the current '9 of Spades'."

How can you prove it?

"I saw it with my own eyes. I looked up and a grown man jumped down from above, almost hitting me."

"Okay, you can exchange for two beginner questions."

Finally, it passed, and Chuanliu breathed a sigh of relief. But he silently cursed the shop owner in his heart for being so cunning; getting information out of him was so effortless, and all he got were two ordinary questions.

She asked, "What's the code for buying playing cards on the black market?"

Shop assistant: "Q: Do you have a royal flush? A: How about four twos?"

Yeah, that's outrageous.

Chuanliu then asked, seemingly casually, "Who was that mysterious person just now?"

Shop assistant: "Sorry, questions involving personnel information are not considered basic issues."

Chuanliu: "Oh, is the main city of Plum Blossom City open yet?"

Shop assistant: "Currently, the official Plum Blossom website has no plans to open it to the public."

After asking his question, Chuanliu got up and left.

Just as she was about to walk out the door, she heard a familiar voice.

"Okay, I've got that in mind. I'll head back now, see you tomorrow."
