Chuanliu calmed himself and asked, "So, in the end, the '10 of Hearts' won?"
Otherwise, why would the current "9 of Hearts" be replaced by Jiulong?
To everyone's surprise, Uncle Hei shook his head and said proudly, "Of course we won."
Chuanliu paused slightly, "What about the 'Nine of Hearts' from before?"
Uncle Hei's face showed a wistful expression. "Him? He's lucky, with so many of us helping him. He's already been promoted to 'King of Hearts'."
"King of Hearts" Cao He?
Is the former "9 of Hearts" now "King of Hearts" Cao He?
In other words, after the "disaster" two years ago, Kowloon was promoted to "9 of Hearts" because of Cao He's promotion; Susan was promoted to "10 of Hearts".
Therefore, Jiulong's current base in the red-light district originally belonged to Caohe.
As Hacker Fox previously stated, the machines in the escape room have been under development for four years.
In other words, Cao He is very likely the person who organized the development of that "computer".
If Cao He was aware of this, then there is likely a deep-seated conflict of interest between Cao He and Jiu Long.
So, what is the connection between the "9" and "10" debate that started in the City of Hearts four years ago and the appearance of this "computer"?
Now, it seems that only by rescuing Jihu and understanding the true purpose of this "computer" can this question be answered.
On this day, the three Long Dongqiang brothers met at Jiulong's residence in the Red Peach Manor, and "Xiao Ni," as Jiulong's younger brother, also accompanied them.
The three of them would meet here every now and then to report on their work progress. Of course, Jiulong wouldn't let "Xiao Ni" listen in on these meetings, so he gave "Xiao Ni" a night off.
Night had fallen, and the lights of the City of Hearts were at their brightest.
Chuanliu changed back into her own clothes where no one could see her, concealing her presence as she discreetly arrived at Susan's residence.
Since the assassination attempt, Susan has significantly increased security at her residence. Her compound is surrounded by elite guards who remain constantly vigilant, ensuring that no movement escapes their notice.
As the figure of Chuan Liu gradually came into view in the distance, Susan's guards immediately went on high alert. They were tense, weapons in hand, their eyes fixed on the intruder, ready to respond to any unforeseen circumstances.
However, as the figure drew closer, they realized that the newcomer was just a woman who looked quite young.
The captain of the guard saw Chuanliu approaching from afar. He stepped forward and politely inquired, "Good evening, Miss. May I ask what brings you here so late at night? Lady Susan has already gone to bed."
Chuanliu said firmly, "I have some important matters to discuss with Sister Susan. Please inform her."
The captain of the guards looked at Chuanliu with suspicion and asked, "May I ask who you are...?"
Chuanliu smiled slightly and replied, "The City of Cubes, Chuanliu."
Upon hearing the name "Chuanliu," the captain of the guard's eyes immediately became respectful.
He quickly bowed and said, "So it's Lord Chuanliu. I've heard so much about you. Please wait a moment while I go and inform Lady Susan."
After saying that, the captain of the guard quickly turned around and walked towards Susan's residence.
While waiting, Chuanliu stood quietly in the courtyard, his gaze sweeping over the guards, noticing that many of them were unfamiliar faces.
A short while later, the butler from Susan's mansion rushed over.
Upon seeing Chuanliu, he immediately greeted him with a warm and polite smile, recognizing Chuanliu's identity instantly.
"Lord Chuanliu, you've come from afar, welcome, welcome!" the butler greeted him warmly. "Please come in, my master is already waiting inside."
As Chuanliu followed the butler into the mansion, he asked the question that had been bothering him, "Why haven't I seen these guards before? Are they new?"
The butler nodded and explained, "Recently, my master has reached a cooperation agreement with the thugs of Spade City. These unfamiliar faces are all members of the thugs."
Chuanliu chuckled softly and said, "So you're one of Sun Qianfan's people. Sister Susan really spared no expense; it must have cost a fortune to invite them here, right?"
Just then, Susan's voice came from the room, "It doesn't matter how much money is spent, the important thing is that the money is spent meaningfully."
As Chuan Liu stepped into the room, the soft light shone on her, and she immediately saw Susan sitting at the table waiting.
Susan was wearing an elegant silk nightgown with a soft shawl draped over her shoulders, as if she had just been awakened from her sleep by the arrival of the stream.
However, Susan showed no displeasure; instead, she wore a relieved smile.
She gently patted the chair next to her and said softly, "Chuanliu, you're here. Please sit down."
Chuanliu smiled slightly in response, "I'm so sorry to have disturbed Susan's peaceful sleep."
Susan shook her head, a look of relief on her face. "I knew you would figure it out."
"Oh?" Chuanliu raised an eyebrow. "You know why I'm here?"
Susan said confidently, "I told you last time we met to think carefully about my suggestion. You must have come to see me about this."
Chuanliu remained noncommittal, appearing quite content. "Actually, I've been making inquiries over the past few days and have basically learned all the details you want to know. I know everything about the contracts, documents, and their internal transaction secrets. Now, I feel there's no point in staying by Jiulong's side any longer."
Susan frowned slightly, trying to suppress her dissatisfaction, and calmly asked, "So you came here today just to tell me you're quitting?"
Chuanliu extended his finger and gently shook it. "That's not quite right. The reason I'm here today is actually to reveal some big news to you."
"What do you mean?" Susan asked, her smile fading.
Chuanliu leaned closer to Susan, feigning mystery, and lowered his voice, "Jiulong is secretly having someone research a computer. I heard the program development is already over 90% complete. What do you think he's researching?"
After the girl finished speaking, she stared at Susan's reaction without moving.
"A computer? What computer?"
Susan was indeed affected by the girl's words. A hint of worry flashed in her eyes, and she kept guessing about Jiulong's various motives.
But she still found it unrealistic and asked doubtfully, "How could there be computers on Paradise Island?"
The girl said sincerely, "I saw that computer with my own eyes. I can tell you where the imprisoned researcher is, and I can also help you get rid of Jiulong and rescue him."
Of course, if you don't believe me, just pretend I never told you any of this.
