The numbers that Haruka threw in the fourth round were exactly the same as those that Kawamura threw in the previous round.
Xiaoyao: 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 3.
When the result was announced, everyone's eyes turned to Chuanliu.
Chuanliu's face was also filled with astonishment; she seemed unable to believe the amazing coincidence before her.
Seeing this, Cao He instantly rushed to Xiao Yao's side, his eyes flashing with anger, and demanded sternly, "What exactly happened?!"
Xiao Yao was quite frightened by Cao He's sudden outburst. He looked flustered, his eyes darting around, and he stammered, "I...I really don't know, how could this be..."
Cao He then realized he couldn't lose face in front of the others, so his expression softened, and he patted Xiao Yao's shoulder heavily, warning, "Xiao Yao, do you remember what I just told you?"
Xiao Yao's eyes widened in shock, a hint of fear and worry flashing across her face. She nodded repeatedly, "I remember, I remember."
Cao He continued patting his shoulder, "Then you must not let any pity make you do something foolish!"
Xiao Yao's body trembled, and she nodded vigorously.
Seeing that his intimidation had worked, Cao He sat back down with satisfaction, picked up his water glass again, and took a sip.
Seeing this, Susan continued to host: "Xiaoyao has 33 points, Chuanliu has 36 points, Chuanliu wins. The side that wins the first game wins. Now, let's begin the fifth game."
The sound of dice being rolled echoed in the silent space, each beat piercing the heart. It was the decisive round; everyone's breath seemed to stop, and the sound of their heartbeats seemed to be the only rhythm.
With two crisp "thump" sounds, the dice cup was slammed down again.
Chuanliu uncovered the dice cup: 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6.
The six dice were arranged neatly, as always.
Cao He's breath hitched for a moment, and a hint of tension flashed in his eyes.
When it was Xiaoyao's turn, he was noticeably more nervous than before. A fine layer of sweat had appeared on his forehead, and his fingers were slightly white from gripping the dice cup so tightly.
He first glanced cautiously at Chuanliu, and seeing her concerned expression, he felt even more uneasy. Then, he secretly looked at Caohe and found that Caohe's eyes held a threat as he stared intently at him, which made him feel immense pressure.
Xiaoyao's lips were tightly pressed together, as if she was trying hard to control her nervousness, her eyes fixed on the dice cup in her hand.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment; everyone held their breath, waiting for Xiaoyao to lift the dice cup.
Cao He stood up, losing all patience, and strode forward, a powerful sense of oppression suddenly overwhelming him.
His sudden approach made Xiaoyao tremble, and she had no choice but to lift the dice cup.
Six dice came into view, and incredibly, the results were similar to the number drawn by Chuanliu, but different on the last one.
The numbers presented, however, are truly astonishing.
Xiaoyao: 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 3.
This result instantly turned Cao He's face ashen, his eyes wide with rage, as if he wanted to devour Xiao Yao alive.
He shouted angrily, "What's going on? How could you make such a mistake!"
The sound echoed in the room, startling everyone who was still in a state of astonishment.
But Cao He quickly realized the problem.
Kawaki rolled a 3, and Haruka rolled a 3 twice. Could it be that, as Kawaki said, there is something wrong with the dice?
Could it be that Kawakami noticed the problem with the dice and then gave the problematic one to Haruka?
A series of suspicions flashed through Cao He's mind. He glanced at the innocent-looking girl, then glared at the equally innocent Xiao Yao.
At the same time, Susan and Wang Shuo had the same guess.
But how could the Red Heart Casino possibly have a problematic die? Even if they did, it shouldn't be in the VIP room, right? Besides, Chuanliu initially used that "problematic" die and rolled a 6, didn't he?
Everyone was filled with speculation and doubt.
Then they saw Cao He pick up the die with the number 3 on it and examine it closely.
After a long while, he blinked, his brows furrowed like a crumpled piece of paper.
Clearly, he didn't see anything wrong with the die.
You can't tell just by looking at it, but you can find out by testing.
Then he shook the die in his hand and let it roll onto the game table.
3.
Once again, he picked up the die and continued to roll it randomly.
Still 3.
Everyone realized that something was wrong.
They crowded around and saw Cao He throw the dice a few more times. The dice rarely showed other numbers, but most of the time it was 3.
Is there something wrong with this die, or is it a problem that's not visible to the naked eye?
Cao He angrily threw the dice on the table and sternly reprimanded Susan, "Susan, what kind of work are you doing? How could such cheating occur in our prestigious Red Peach Casino VIP room! Aren't you making a laughing stock of yourselves?"
“I,” Susan tried to explain, but couldn’t articulate it clearly, so she could only lower her head and admit her mistake, “I’m sorry, Mr. Cao, it was my dereliction of duty, I admit my mistake.”
As she spoke, she ordered her subordinates, "Quickly go and get another set of things!"
Cao He snorted coldly, easing the embarrassment of having just lost two games in a row.
Even if Susan had doubts in her heart, she didn't have time to think about it anymore. With a smile on her face, she invited Chuanliu and Caohe to sit down at the next table.
"President Cao, Chuanliu, it was my fault for not checking properly beforehand. Please sit down, have some water, and some fruit and snacks. We'll start again in a bit."
Cao He sat down with a cold face. He instructed Xiao Yao to sit next to him and mechanically offered a few words of encouragement.
Xiaoyao kept her head down, glancing at Chuanliu's direction every now and then.
The latter seemed oblivious, chatting and eating with Wang Shuo.
Although the matter has been investigated, Cao He knows that it is not that simple.
His gaze lingered on everyone present, settling on Susan for a long time. Susan was the most likely person to have tampered with the dice beforehand, but why would she give the problematic die to Chuanliu?
Cao He narrowed his eyes, constantly considering the possibilities.
His fingers habitually circled the rim of the cup, trying to soothe his restlessness with the vibrations of the water.
A short while later, Susan's men brought over a new set of dice and a dice cup.
After checking and confirming that everything was correct, Xiaoyao and Chuanliu stood on opposite sides of the game table again.
Susan announced, "Let's continue the game. The score is now zero, let's start counting again. Mr. Cao, what do you think..."
Cao He closed his eyes wearily, took a sip of water, and nodded to the others.
Susan then continued, "First round, start..."
Before she could finish speaking, Cao He's expression suddenly changed. He clutched his stomach, his face contorted in pain, as an unbearable, intense pain swept over him.
