Chapter 278 Are you interrogating me?

"Flowing river!"

Qian Chuan called out anxiously, his voice coming from behind Chuan Liu.

The girl seemed not to hear Qian Chuan's words and strode upstairs.

Seeing this, Qian Chuan quickly sped up, taking two steps in one, and swiftly blocked Chuan Liu's path, spreading his arms to try and stop her from moving forward.

"Chuanliu, what are you doing!"

The man pulled Chuanliu along, his palms hot and strong.

Faced with Qianchuan's obstruction, Chuanliu's eyes remained calm and sharp.

She lightly swung her arm, quickly breaking free from the money string. "Didn't you say Old Feng wasn't here? Are you scared?"

"I……"

Upon hearing this, Qian Chuan's expression changed slightly. He hesitated, then could only sigh helplessly, "Fine, if you want to look for it, then look for it."

In fact, when Chuanliu was questioning Qianchuan, he had already been secretly observing his reaction.

As she grasped Qian Chuan's wrist, she discreetly checked his pulse. When Qian Chuan mentioned that Lao Feng had been taken away by Susan, the momentary increase in his pulse was detected.

Chuanliu already had the answer in her heart. She was certain that Qian Chuan was lying, and that Lao Feng was hiding in this house.

Ignoring the money string, she went straight to the fifth floor.

The furnishings here were basically the same as when she last met Lao Feng.

However, when she pushed open that familiar door and entered Lao Feng's room, she was greeted by emptiness.

The figure that should have been there was not there.

But the scattered calligraphy on the desk, the unclosed books on the bedside table, and the thriving potted plants all testify to the traces of Lao Feng's life here.

The doubts in her heart prompted Chuanliu to search more carefully. She left Lao Feng's room and expanded the search to every corner of the entire building.

Top floor, fourth floor, third floor...

She walked through each building one by one, not missing any space where Old Feng might be hiding. But no matter how she searched, Old Feng's figure seemed to have completely vanished from the mansion.

As time went on, Chuanliu's brows furrowed more and more deeply.

Finally, she stood in Qian Chuan's study, turned around, and her scrutinizing gaze fell on the man who had been silently following behind her.

The latter, on the other hand, adopted a relaxed and carefree demeanor, hands in his pockets, a relaxed smile playing on his lips.

He raised an eyebrow at Chuanliu. "I already told you, he's not here. Why are you so insistent?"

Qian Chuan stepped forward, put his arm around the girl, and patted her shoulder reassuringly. "If you have any questions, just ask me. Old Feng isn't here, so it's the same if you ask me."

Chuanliu suddenly turned to look at him, "Aren't you angry?"

Qian Chuan's body stiffened for a moment, but he quickly recovered and explained, "With the relationship between us, would I get angry over something so trivial?"

Chuanliu grasped the hand on his shoulder, while the other hand's three fingers were openly placed on his pulse.

She asked, "Brother Qian, I'll ask you one more time, is Lao Feng here with you?"

Qian Chuan's smile froze on his face. He tried to pull his wrist away, but couldn't break free.

"Chuanliu, are you interrogating me?" His tone turned cold.

Chuanliu was not intimidated by his imposing manner and met his eyes without flinching. "It's okay if you don't want to answer this question. I can ask another one."

"What do you mean?" Qian Chuan lowered his eyes, looking at the place where Chuan Liu's hand overlapped with his pulse.

Chuanliu paused for a moment, then said, "Old Feng... you mean 'Six of Diamonds' from four years ago, right?"

Qian Chuan's pupils contracted instantly, and his heart skipped a beat when he heard the girl's words.

Seeing the man's reaction, she understood what was going on. She lowered her hand from taking his pulse and replied calmly, "Thank you for your answer."

Qian Chuan lowered his head, knowing he had no way to defend himself, and asked, "How did you know?"

Chuanliu sat on Qianchuan's desk, playing with the pencil on the table. "How I know this is not important. What is important is that I want to talk to Lao Feng about the matter of the kid four years ago."

"What do you know?!"

Qian Chuan's voice suddenly became much more agitated, "You don't still think that 'kid' you mentioned can threaten your position, do you?"

Chuanliu shrugged. "Since you know how much I care, you should know how important this matter is to me. So, I won't leave today until I see Lao Feng."

Qian Chuan slumped onto the stool, admitting, "Yes, Old Feng is the former 'Six of Diamonds,' but so what? He's just an old man who's sometimes lucid and sometimes confused. First, he poses no threat to you; second, he might not be able to answer the questions you want to ask him."

Chuanliu leaned back, crossed his legs, and said, "Then why did you stop me time and time again? If Lao Feng has no problem, what are you hiding?"

Qian Chuan pursed her lips. "I didn't hide anything. Old Feng has been kind to me, and he's not in a good state to meet with you right now."

Chuanliu sighed softly and nodded, "Alright, if you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you."

Qian Chuan had just breathed a sigh of relief when the girl continued:

"It's just Feng Mi, I can just ask the higher-ups at Cube... Do you think Jin Rugo and Liu Xingxing might know something?"

Upon hearing the name "Feng Mi," Qian Chuan jumped to his feet.

He approached the girl in two strides, his expression serious. "Where did you hear that name? What else do you know?"

Chuanliu retorted, "Since I can find out that Lao Feng is '6 of Diamonds,' do you think I wouldn't know his name is Feng Mi?"

"or……"

The girl paused for a moment, then said, "He also has another name... Little devil?"

The moment the names Feng Mi and Xiao Gui appeared, Qian Chuan could no longer remain calm.

A huge wave of emotions surged within the man. He stood rooted to the spot, unsure of how to react.

He wanted to speak, but he could neither explain nor refute.

Chuanliu's words contained both a suggestion and a threat, so he could not act rashly.

Seeing the man staring blankly at him, Chuanliu chuckled lightly, "Don't stare at me like that, or I'll think you want to die with me."

Qian Chuan then turned his head to one side, but still didn't say anything.

Chuanliu jumped off the table and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't be too nervous. Old Feng is still alive and well, which means I haven't said anything. I don't need to expose Old Feng's identity, right?"

“However…” Chuanliu leaned closer, “if this keeps dragging on, I can’t guarantee that my mouth will stay sealed tight forever.”

"What do you want to say?" Qian Chuan raised his eyes, a hint of helplessness in them.

Chuanliu knew he was starting to soften his stance, so he added fuel to the fire, "You know, I just wanted to confirm some things, but there are still quite a few people looking for him outside."
