As Chuanliu expected, the phone in her room rang an hour later.
The phone rang three times before it suddenly hung up.
After waiting for about 10 seconds, Chuanliu pressed the call-back button.
The call was answered by the WD Investigation Bureau, who said first, "We've traveled far and wide to find old traces."
The river flowed in response to the secret code: "Fragrant grass on the cliff reflects the setting sun."
Then someone on the other end said, "This is the WD Investigation Bureau, Ms. Kawakyu."
The WD investigator's voice was calm and unhurried, even carrying a hint of anger.

She said into the phone, "You said last time that I only had one chance, so I don't think this one should count."
“Of course,” the WD investigator said. “Our WD Investigations Bureau strictly adheres to the rules of cooperation.”
However, the researcher's voice suddenly turned somber as he spoke.
"However, Ms. Chuanliu, we chose to cooperate with you because we value your professionalism."

Chuanliu caught this subtle change and immediately pressed his advantage, speaking slowly but with every word sharp: "Have you considered that perhaps there are other unknown factors on the island, or perhaps... there has been a lapse in your bureau's communications with others?"
She deliberately slowed her speech, as if she had everything under control, forcing the WD researcher on the other end of the phone to re-examine the situation.
“I understand what you mean,” the latter said, his tone no longer as aggressive as before. “There are indeed many unknowns on Paradise Island, and we will continue to investigate that.”
To Chuanliu, these words were undoubtedly an indirect confirmation of her previous suspicions—the WD Investigation Bureau had planted other undercover agents on Paradise Island.
He stopped pursuing Chuanliu, but Chuanliu wasn't about to let him off so easily. "Now that you've detected 'Joker's' movements, why don't you just follow the trail and find him? What are you waiting for?"
The man on the other end of the phone hesitated for a moment before speaking: "If we could discover 'The Joker' so easily, then you have no reason to exist."
Chuanliu, undeterred, stated his purpose: "As I told you before, I need more information about 'The Joker,' otherwise my operation cannot proceed."
The WD researcher seemed somewhat embarrassed: "Ms. Chuanliu, I really can't..."
But Chuanliu didn't give him a chance to finish, interrupting him directly: "I know you have other people on Paradise Island, but after all these years, they haven't found anything. If you're counting on them, then I have nothing more to say."
The person on the other end was clearly taken aback for a moment, then immediately denied it, saying, "Ms. Chuanliu, I don't know where you heard this news, but no one will replace you."
Chuanliu smiled slightly, his tone carrying a hint of threat: "Is that so? That's for the best. But anyway, I don't care about positions or anything like that. At worst, we'll fight to the death, and no one will have an easy time."
The implication is that, at worst, she'll expose herself and her people along with her.
She's been under the control of the WD Investigation Bureau ever since she arrived on the island, and now that she's got nothing to lose, she's finally showing some backbone.
The other party remained silent for a moment, seemingly weighing the pros and cons, before finally relenting and saying, "Alright, then what do you want to know? I will do my best to provide you with the information."
A triumphant smile curled at the corners of the girl's lips.
Kawakami: "You guys don't know anything about the Joker's identity?"
WD researcher: "We really don't know. 'The Joker' has concealed his identity very well; it's uncertain whether he's male, female, old, or young. But what we do know is that he was a prisoner who landed on the island four years ago."
