Chapter 36 Alliance

Xu's meticulously prepared scheme collapsed in less than half a day. For the residents of the Cube City, it seemed to have had no effect whatsoever.

Chuanliu returned to the villa, and if she hadn't experienced it herself, she really wouldn't have believed that things had happened so quickly.

She sat on the terrace and vaguely saw a familiar figure walking towards her from a distance.

It's a string of coins.

After learning the voting results, Qian Chuan remained expressionless and silent throughout, as if he were an outsider.

"Hey, open the door."

Qian Chuan shouted towards the terrace, as if he had instantly reverted to his carefree and irreverent self.

"What are you doing?" Chuanliu leaned on the railing, his long hair fluttering in the breeze.

"Let's talk." Qian Chuan smiled, but there seemed to be a hint of warning in his eyes.

Chuanliu frowned; she didn't like Qianchuan's self-righteous attitude. She slowly stood up, walked down from the villa, and opened the door.

"Come in," Chuanliu said coldly.

Qian Chuan walked into the villa, looked around, and then sat down on the sofa. He crossed his arms and stared sharply at Chuan Liu.

“You don’t seem surprised,” Qian Chuan said.

Chuanliu sat in the chair opposite her and preemptively said, "How can I not be surprised? Xu Zhiming clearly offered you such good terms, yet you turned against him at the crucial moment?"

Qian Chuan chuckled, staring at the woman. "You really believe I cast the dissenting vote?"

Chuanliu did not answer directly: "What can I do if I believe? What can I do if I don't believe? Xu Zhi's scheme has already failed. What we need to face now are more practical problems."

"Oh?" Qian Chuan raised an eyebrow.

"The reality is, you're in trouble. Do you think Xu Zhi will let you off the hook?"

The girl's expression was full of schadenfreude.

Qian Chuan was speechless. Although he had no evidence, he always felt that this matter was inextricably linked to Chuan Liu.

He sneered, "If Xu Zhi doesn't do something, he'll probably be in trouble himself. As for you, why did you vote for Jia Zuowei for no reason?"

There was an element of deception in those words.

Chuanliu leaned back in his chair, raised an eyebrow, and said, "I don't mind if you give me this title. After all, if I were Jia Zuowei, my next step would be to eliminate any dissidents who didn't vote for him."

Seeing Chuanliu's nonchalant attitude, Qian Chuan couldn't help but feel a little wavering. He wasn't entirely sure that Chuanliu had cast the vote, but with such an unknown factor around him, he had to be sure of his safety.

After a while, Qian Chuan also followed Chuan Liu's example and sat back in the chair.

"Forget it, what's done is done, there's no point in dwelling on it anymore."

Chuanliu remained silent, waiting for him to continue.

Qian Chuan looked at her seriously, "I'm not here to be a detective and find out the truth; I'm here to collaborate with you."

Chuanliu laughed and said, "Haven't we been working together all along?"

Qian Chuan: "I'm not kidding. If you were Xu Zhi, what would you do?"

Chuanliu: "Anyway, the salted fish can't turn over, so at worst we'll just go down in flames."

Qian Chuan nodded. "So soon the City of Blocks will be plunged into a bloodbath. Are you sure you don't want to form an alliance with me?"

After seemingly pondering for a moment, Chuanliu smiled slyly and asked, "What are the benefits of allying with you?"

Qian Chuan tapped the girl's head. "What else is in your head besides benefits?"

Chuanliu rubbed his head and leaned back in his chair. "I need a copy of the identity information for all the official residents of Cube City."

That was her real purpose—to investigate all the residents.

Unfortunately, in order to avoid suspicion, they couldn't make an exorbitant demand and include everyone on Paradise Island in the scope.

Qian Chuan narrowed his eyes, trying to discern the girl's deeper purpose. He countered, "What do you need this information for? To investigate them one by one?"

Chuanliu smiled slightly, not directly answering his question, "You don't need to worry about what I might do. I just need to make sure this information isn't leaked. Besides, that shouldn't be difficult for you."

Qian Chuan remained silent for a while, seemingly weighing the pros and cons. He knew there was probably a deeper purpose behind this, but whatever Chuan Liu wanted to do, it wouldn't be as serious as the power struggle between Xu Zhi and Jia Zuowei.

“Okay, I promise you.” Qian Chuan finally nodded. “But you must promise that since you’ve chosen to form an alliance, you must uphold the integrity of an ally.”

The girl held out a hand. "Don't worry, I won't let you down."

The two clasped hands, officially forming an alliance.

Qian Chuan got up to leave, sensing that a crisis was about to unfold.

Before leaving, he glanced back at Chuanliu, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

He wasn't sure if Chuanliu was really trustworthy, but he was willing to give her a chance.

After all, they are allies now.

Watching Qianchuan's departing figure, Chuanliu breathed a sigh of relief.

Since these events, Kawaryu's opinion on the money string has changed considerably.

She gradually discovered that Qian Chuan was not just a simple person who only sought money; he had some exceptionally persistent pursuits.

Whether Qian Chuan's persistence and principles will become obstacles to their cooperation in the future remains to be seen.

Although Qian Chuan's ally was somewhat cunning, she was undoubtedly a smart person. As long as it didn't affect her plans, this alliance could continue indefinitely.

but……

Since even Qian Chuan couldn't be sure who she voted for, it seems she has achieved her goal.

The girl's smile reached her eyes as she gently swirled the teacup in her hand, as if admiring her masterpiece.

That's right, it was she who cast her vote for Jia Zuowei.

She voted very quickly.

Because she knew that the faster she made the decision on the surface, the less aroused suspicion.

Xu Zhihui felt that she had voted for her.

Jia felt that she had voted for him.

She had thought it through carefully long before the vote.

As Qian Chuan had previously stated, getting involved in the struggle between Xu Zhi and Jia Zuowei would complicate matters and even cause chaos.

That was her goal.

Creating chaos and making the situation more confusing is a better way to conceal one's true intentions.

Now, everyone's attention is focused on Xu Zhi and Jia Zuowei, and no one suspects this seemingly harmless girl.

Even if they suspect her, she is confident that she can get away unscathed.

This is exactly the effect she wanted.

Of course, Chuanliu did not let his guard down because of this.

She knew this was only a small part of the game, and the real challenge was about to begin.

As Chuanliu had expected, Jia sent a generous gift to him the very next day to express his gratitude. The exquisite gift box was filled with rare supplies from Paradise Island.

At the same time, Xu Zhi suddenly disappeared without a trace.

Her winery was locked and deserted; even her usual servants were nowhere to be seen.
