The river flowed tentatively.
Xu Zhi gestured to Chuan Liu with her eyes, and the latter followed her gaze.
A strange man was standing silently behind them, like a ghost, giving them a chilling feeling.
The man was dressed in all black, and in the dim light, he seemed to blend into the surroundings at any moment, making him appear mysterious and elusive; a black strip of cloth was tied in front of his forehead, revealing his neat short hair.
Half of his face was covered with a black cloth, revealing only a pair of sharp black eyes that were constantly watching the surrounding movements, like a falcon stalking its prey, full of vigilance and keen awareness.
He stood there quietly, without making any unnecessary movements, yet he exuded a powerful sense of pressure. This was a calmness honed through experience and refinement.
If Wu Fangming standing behind her gave her an ultimate sense of security, then this other person standing behind her would make her feel endless danger.
Chuanliu was certain she had never seen him before, but those sharp eyes instantly reminded her of his identity.
This man was the thug who had followed her and brought her here with a single blow.
Chuanliu took a step back warily, his eyes fixed on the man, without saying a word.
Xu Zhi noticed the girl's change and smiled, "It seems you've already met each other. Say hello."
The two looked at each other awkwardly for a moment, with only the sound of the wind blowing around them.
Chuanliu maintained a certain distance, his gaze revealing hostility and wariness towards the man.
Sensing the girl's hostility, the man suddenly chuckled.
"I just hit you with a stick, why are you so hostile?"
He spoke in a very casual and unrestrained manner, which was completely different from his solemn demeanor, as if all of this was just a game to him.
Judging from his voice, the man shouldn't be very old.
He took one hand out of his pocket, and a black glove and wrist guard extended over half of his palm.
"My name is Zhui Ming, '8 of Spades,' the assassin."
So that's how it is. I didn't expect Xu Zhi to have reached a cooperation agreement with the people of Spade City.

Xu Zhi chuckled, "That's right. According to the intelligence I have, Jia Zuowei has reached a secret agreement with 'Spade 5' Fu Baili. Fu Baili and his gang are now doing everything they can to protect Jia Zuowei and eliminate any potential threats to him. Ah Xian took the knife for me while we were evading pursuit."
