Chapter 46 Movie Queen

Two days later, Chuanliu found a suitable opportunity and visited Jia Zuowei's manor again.

Jia's estate seemed to have become even more luxurious, with the stone pillars and ceilings of the long corridors painted with gold paint, and beautiful roses climbing all over the white walls.

Three cars were parked in the yard, the sunlight shining on them and making them gleam.

Jia walked out enthusiastically, followed by Fu Baili and his bodyguard team.

He looked radiant, as if some great good thing had happened.

"Hahaha, little girl, what brings you to this old man's place?"

Jia grabbed the girl's shoulder and patted her hard a few times, then glanced at Zhuiming and continued:

"I thought you were enjoying your time with your sweetheart."

Chuanliu subtly took a step away from him, his face still bearing a polite smile.

"Why is Brother Jia so happy? Is there something good happening?"

Jia was in high spirits. "Great news! Of course it's great news! Yesterday, my men and Xu fought each other and beat them so badly they fled in disarray!"

Chuanliu looked surprised. "You've heard news about her too?"

Sensing the implication in her words, Jia asked curiously, "Oh? From what you're saying, you know something too?"

The girl nodded seriously: "I came here today to report this matter to you."

As she spoke, she glanced mysteriously at the person behind Jia.

"There are too many people around here, let's go inside and talk."

Jia Zuowei's manor villa stands majestically, with a total of four floors, each showcasing a different function and style.

In addition to the main hall where the banquet was previously held, the manor also has various entertainment facilities such as a chess and card room and a gym to meet various leisure and entertainment needs.

Jia Zuo's study and master bedroom, as well as more private spaces, are hidden on the top floor of the manor—the fourth floor.

A circular staircase spirals up from the first floor to the fourth floor.

The steps are decorated with exquisite murals and sculptures.

At the very center of the villa stands a statue of Jia Zuowei.

The pure white stone statue almost perfectly captures Jia Zuowei's face, only his figure has been artistically altered.

The statue faces upward, holding a sword high in its hand, welcoming the light from the diamond chandelier on the villa's ceiling.

If this is art, then it's hard to judge.

Chuanliu and Zhuiming followed closely behind Jia Zuowei, climbing to the highest point of the manor as he went.

As Jia walked along, he introduced the displays and exhibits that he was so proud of.

When they finally reached the fourth floor, Jia stopped.

Looking down from the fourth floor, you can get a glimpse of the structure of each floor, and even the huge exhibition in the lobby on the first floor becomes lifelike, as if you can reach out and touch it.

"The higher you stand, the farther you can see; that's my business."

Jia said smugly, his eyes revealing excitement and ambition.

He then looked at Chuanliu and earnestly advised him, "Although you have only been on the island for a short time, you have already had access to many opportunities that others do not, so you should cherish them."

The latter smiled and nodded.

Afterwards, everyone went to the council hall.

The moment the door to the council chamber was opened, a faint aroma of tea wafted into the room.

The room was extremely private, with no windows or light coming in, and even two layers of soundproof partitions.

The two sat down, and a dozen bodyguards stood behind Jia Zuowei.

"Speak, what is it?"

Jia crossed her arms and placed them on her belly.

The girl looked hesitant, glancing cautiously at the group of people behind Jia.

"Brother Jia, what about them...?"

Jia suddenly realized what was happening and turned to Baili, instructing him:

"You stay here, the rest of you don't need to stay here."

Jia is now extremely eager to know Xu Zhi's whereabouts.

Having spent many years in the underworld, he deeply understands the necessity of eliminating all threats at the root.

After all, if there is truly classified information, the more people who know it, the greater the risk.

The next moment, only Jia Zuowei, Fu Baili, Chuanliu, and Zhuiming remained in the room.

The two sat facing each other. Chuanliu picked up a teacup and performed a set of tea ceremonies with fluid grace.

The fragrant tea from the pot was poured into two teacups.

Jia looked at the girl with some surprise, as if praising her skills.

He picked up the glass, the lid gently tapping against the body.

"So, can you talk about it now?"

The girl's face darkened, she lowered her eyes and then looked up again, as if she were struggling with something.

"Xu Zhi, she came to see me."

"oh?"

Jia frowned. "What did she say to you?"

After a moment's thought, Chuanliu uttered the words he had already prepared:

"The day after the banquet, she had someone follow me, knock me unconscious, and take me to a deserted area. She threatened me, saying that if I didn't cooperate with her, I wouldn't see the sun rise tomorrow."

"So, you said yes to her?"

The girl nodded, but then quickly shook her head.

“I was very scared, so I pretended to agree to her request. Then I came to find you as soon as possible.”

This is consistent with her weak personality.

Jia, thinking to himself, did not respond immediately, but instead assessed the veracity of the statement.

What he didn't realize was that the reason Chuanliu's story was so flawless was because half of it was true.

Her eyes instantly filled with tears, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

"Won't she find out I came to see you? Do you think she'll retaliate against me?"

His train of thought was interrupted by the crying, and Jia comforted him, "Don't worry, with me here, I doubt she would dare to do anything rash!"

The girl wiped away her tears, nodded with a sob, and continued:

"Xu Zhi also said that she has made a thorough plan to have me work with her from the inside to launch a counterattack on your manor."

Jia snorted coldly, "She's dreaming! Don't worry, no matter how meticulous her plan is, it's useless. She was severely injured by my men yesterday, and she doesn't have the strength to fight me head-on!"

Watching Chuan Liu's wonderful performance, Zhui Ming couldn't help but applaud her in his heart.

Every movement and every glance she made was perfectly timed, making her seem like a truly vulnerable woman being threatened.

An award-winning actress, an absolute award-winning actress.

Chuanliu's few words completely absolved her of any responsibility, leaving Zhuiming unable to discern whether she was acting or genuinely surrendering.

Xu Zhi also said...

Chuanliu continued, his sobs growing softer and softer.

"What?"

Jia, not having heard clearly, leaned closer.

Xu Zhi also said, "Let me..."

The girl seemed very conflicted, and her voice became even softer.

"Speak louder."

While timid people are easier to control, this one is far too timid.

Jia couldn't help but complain in his heart, and his body unconsciously moved forward a little more, wanting to hear more clearly.

However, just as he got closer, a cold wind suddenly swept past his eyes.

A bone-chilling cold swept over my entire body.
