Chapter 9 A White Dress

A few minutes later, the source of the sound finally couldn't hold back any longer.

Probably not expecting to lose their pursuer, the two figures emerged one after the other, cautiously peeking out.

The young woman at the back whispered, "Auntie, have you seen her?"

The middle-aged woman in front said in frustration, "How could I lose them in the blink of an eye?"

The middle-aged woman's voice sounded somewhat familiar, and Chuanliu, peeking through the gap, recognized her.

It was Aunt Wu, the madam known as "Red Heart 4," who accompanied her to the island.

So what if they are people we know?

Chuanliu did not appear, but quietly leaned against the tree, waiting for the two to leave.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and the young woman shivered. She tugged at Aunt Wu's sleeve and said timidly, "It's getting dark. Should we go back?"

Aunt Wu: "Go back? Do you want to be tortured to death by those homeless people? They've already stolen our ID cards. We can't afford to lose our lives there. I'm doing this for your own good."

Young woman: "Then, how did you know that girl could help us?"

Aunt Wu: "What's this talk about helping or not? We came to the island together. With her small frame, she would probably be a homeless person by now. We have to help each other."

The young woman nodded.

Chuanliu listened silently to their conversation without revealing himself from behind the tree until the two could no longer hold on and returned the way they came. Only then did he set off back to his residence.

The next day, the sun was high in the sky.

The tranquility was shattered by a piercing ringing of a bell.

It was a call from a homeless person in the same building, informing her that they should go to the boss Ma Hu's place together that afternoon.

Chuanliu met this Donkey Brother again.

Ma Hu seemed largely unaffected by Qian Chuan's warning, and organized about ten of his men to stroll leisurely through the streets.

His eyes lit up when he spotted Chuan Liu in the crowd, and he immediately put on a smiling face.

His sallow face was covered in wrinkles, and a pair of lewd eyes blinked repeatedly from his dark-rimmed eyes.

"Little Chuan, you've finally arrived."

Ma Hu's tone was so warm it gave me goosebumps.

Chuanliu immediately put on a smile, "Brother Donkey, you are truly a distinguished person with many affairs. It is not easy to wait for your summons."

Ma Hu was overjoyed, his gloom from the busy past two days vanishing: "Strange brother, strange brother. Didn't I just finish dealing with things yesterday, and you came to find me right away?"

As he spoke, Ma Hu took out a gift box and gave it to Chuan Liu, saying, "I'm happy today, so I'm taking the brothers out to have some fun."

Inside the box was a white spaghetti strap dress with a white bow ribbon fluttering in the wind at the chest, and a lace trim around the hem.

Although it's not considered revealing, it fulfills the fantasies of many men.

Chuanliu snorted inwardly, but his smile remained unchanged, and he looked pleasantly surprised. "I have only recently been taken under your command, and I cannot accept such a valuable gift."

Ma Hu smiled smugly, "We can't lose face when we go to someone else's territory. Once I've dominated the casino, buying you ten or eight items won't be a problem."

Red Peach Casino?

Chuanliu paused, genuinely surprised that he had just scouted the route yesterday and was now going back again today.

"Brother Donkey, Paradise Island also has a casino, right?"

"It's normal that you don't know since you're new here. On Paradise Island, who doesn't know about the Red Heart Casino?"

After finding a place for the girl to change her dress, Donkey Brother licked his lips wickedly.

A specially made identity card, a bank card, and a stone knife.

Looking at the objects that had nowhere to be hidden, Chuanliu fell into deep thought.

After a long while, Brother Donkey, who had been waiting outside for quite some time, finally suppressed his impatience and knocked on the door.

"Little Chuan, are you done changing? Your brother is coming in."

The man's hand was already on the doorknob.

Then, the door finally opened.

The girl was dressed in a white dress, graceful and charming; her black hair was piled on top of her head, revealing her beautiful face; her cheeks were rosy, and her ethereal eyes were like those of a goddess descended to earth, making one reluctant to defile her.

All the men present, including Ma Hu, held their breath.

The girl had kept her face buried in her hoodie, and no one had guessed what kind of face was hidden under the hat.

A gust of wind blew, and the ribbons from the gift box swayed on her head; she had used the ribbons as a hairband to tie her hair up.

Ma Hu only felt a little thirsty, but his energy and blood were somewhat abundant.

After coughing twice, their morale soared as they marched toward the Red Peach Casino.

Upon arriving at this magnificent manor once again, Chuanliu walked in with his head held high, following a large group of people.

Her fairy-like appearance made many people stop and look back, and even a few homeless people who were waiting outside whistled.

Even the waiter who was escorted away yesterday might not recognize her.

"Hey, Lao Zhou, what brings you to the shift today?" Ma Hu greeted the foreman warmly.

The foreman greeted him in a bureaucratic tone, "Brother Donkey! Long time no see."

Old Zhou glanced around behind Ma Hu, his gaze lingering on Chuan Liu for a moment. "Brother Donkey, you're so lucky. How come I didn't know there were such beautiful girls in Red Peach City?"

Ma Hu smiled disdainfully, "Don't compare yourself to the birds of your Hearts. Little Chuan is from our Diamonds, a college student, a cultured person."

Seemingly ignoring Ma Hu's words, Old Zhou led Ma Hu to exchange chips while saying, "Didn't you just ask me why I'm on duty today? I have questions for you too."

After a pause, Old Zhou continued, "Qian Liu, Boss Qian, how are you?"

Ma Hu asked in confusion, "Brother Qian Liu? He's quite nice."

Old Zhou: "Yesterday, a big shot came to our place and traded away a '6 of Diamonds'."

Ma Hu: "What? Paradise Island has a second '6 of Diamonds'?"

Old Zhou: "That's why I'm asking you."

Ma Hu: "What about this card?"

Old Zhou: "It broke that very day, and the person can't be found anymore."

Thinking that Qian Chuan's identity tag might have been stolen, Ma Hu couldn't help but feel a sense of schadenfreude amidst his surprise. Suppressing a smile, he said, "This... was that person male or female? How old? What did they look like? I'll have someone keep an eye out for them."

Old Zhou waved his hand. "I heard from the officer that he's a skinny kid wearing a baseball cap. But I advise you to be careful. Don't blame me for not warning you, that kid has other cards on him."

Skinny Boy...and other brands...

Ma Hu extracted the key information and rubbed his dry hands.

Since this kid can even swap out the "6 of Diamonds," he must have more valuable cards in his hand. If we can catch him...

Thinking of this, Ma Hu instructed a few of his men to whisper a few words, and the latter immediately understood and left the area.

Chuanliu listened to their conversation the whole time and found it amusing.

While warning him to be careful, Old Zhou was also giving him vague and tempting information.

It's one thing for Ma Hu to find a thief in the vast sea of people, but if this "kid" is really a big shot, Ma Hu wouldn't have enough lives even if he had ten.

Of course, what they didn't know was that the "culprit" behind the whole thing was calmly standing next to them, "obediently" listening to their conversation.
