Chapter 138 You're making false accusations

"Jiulong, what else do you have to say!"

"I've already said I don't know what you're talking about!"

"The evidence is right in front of you, and you still won't admit it?"

"What a joke! What evidence? Why should I admit to it!"

Susan, Jiulong, and everyone involved in the incident except for Chuanliu, who was still seriously injured, gathered in the large conference room on the third floor of the Red Peach Casino, facing off anxiously.

"You dare say you didn't pay Spade City for help?"

Susan looked coldly at Jiulong; the two, who had already broken off their relationship, no longer had their usual amicable and flattering demeanor.

"Please, you're the '10 of Hearts,' you've probably messed with some people somewhere. Your own enemies are after you, why are you pinning the blame on me?"

After Jiulong finished speaking, his gaze swept around the conference room and finally met that of He Dadong and Zhuang Qiang beside him. The three of them laughed without restraint.

Their laughter echoed in the meeting room, testing Susan's limits.

Susan's face turned ashen, because she had no evidence that Jiulong had hired someone in Spade City to harm her.

Last night, Wang Shuo and Qian Chuan went to Jiulong's house to investigate in order to corroborate Chuanliu's statement, but they only found He Dadong and Zhuang Qiang drinking and having fun at home. After an hour or two, Jiulong finally came back from outside.

There was no large force as Chuanliu had described.

Although Chuanliu is currently unconscious and her words cannot be verified, after experiencing the thrilling assassination attempt and narrow escape last night, Susan has no doubt that Chuanliu is telling the truth.

Perhaps Jiulong received advance warning and withdrew his men; or perhaps this was a lie Jiulong fabricated to threaten Chuanliu.

In short, Susan already regarded Jiulong, He Dadong, and Zhuang Qiang as enemies.

"Jiulong, I originally called you here to have a calm and peaceful talk with you."

Susan's tone revealed a hint of disappointment. She slowly stood up, and a powerful aura surged forth instantly, causing He Dadong and Zhuang Qiang, who were standing next to Jiulong, to involuntarily lower their heads guiltily.

Jiulong, however, did not back down. He had already assumed that Susan did not have solid evidence, so he stood up as well, a provocative smile on his lips. "Sister Susan, what do you mean by this? We brothers have always been polite to you, but that does not mean we will let you do whatever you want with us."

Susan gave him a cold glance and scoffed, "I know I might not be able to handle you, but someone else can."

Then, she clapped her hands lightly, and the waiter from the Red Peach Casino immediately understood and quickly stepped forward to open the door to the conference room.

As the conference room doors slowly opened, four imposing figures came into view.

There were three men and one woman in total, all dressed in dark formal attire, looking upright and dignified, giving off a capable yet serious impression.

The entire conference room seemed to fall silent instantly upon their arrival.

The woman slightly to the left of center is of medium height, slightly plump, and has short hair that is neatly and tidy, making her look exceptionally energetic.

She was about sixty years old, and the marks of time on her face had become sharp blades, piercing straight to the heart.

Her eyes were exceptionally bright, sharp as an eagle's, as if they could see into people's hearts. Her powerful and unique aura attracted everyone's attention the moment she appeared, making her the focus of everyone's gaze.

Behind her stood three men, some tall, some short, some fat, some thin, but without exception they all maintained a respectful attitude towards the woman in the middle, their every move revealing their shrewdness.

The moment these four people appeared, the atmosphere in the conference room instantly became tense. The people who had been whispering immediately fell silent, and all eyes turned to them.

Jiulong, He Dadong, and Zhuang Qiang's expressions changed drastically, and cold sweat poured down their foreheads.

Because they knew that the four people in front of them were the upper management of the City of Hearts. Their appearance meant that the matter was no longer just between Susan and Jiulong.

The four people in front of them were none other than the high-ranking members of the City of Hearts—"J of Hearts", "Q of Hearts", "K of Hearts" and the highest-ranking manager, "A of Hearts".

"Why did Susan bring them here?"

Jiulong gritted his teeth and asked in a low voice.

Da Dong and Zhuang Qiang also looked bewildered. They shook their heads, indicating that they were also unaware of the situation.

The Red Peach management has always been very wary of them forming cliques, at least not openly. Now, Susan clearly wants to bring this matter to the forefront, especially considering what happened a couple of days ago…

Jiulong immediately sensed something was wrong.

Upon seeing the four high-ranking officials, everyone present stood up.

Upon seeing this, Susan and Jiulong quickly went to greet them and respectfully made way for them.

"President Chunling, you've arrived."

Susan held the hand of the leader, "Ace of Hearts," her smile revealing a hint of respect and expectation. As the only woman among the high-ranking members, she was relatively friendly to Susan.

The woman addressed as General Manager Chunling nodded slightly, her expression remaining serious without much emotional fluctuation. She glanced around the conference room, her gaze lingering on each person for a moment before finally offering a polite smile.

"A good number of people are here today. Why is Qian Liu from Cube City here too?"

Chunling's voice was neither too loud nor too soft, but it carried the authority of a superior.

Upon hearing this, Qian Chuan immediately stood up and nodded slightly to Huang Chunling, the "Ace of Hearts," saying, "President Huang, it's been a long time."

At this moment, Cao He, the "King of Hearts," turned his gaze to Susan. His brows furrowed slightly, and his tone carried a hint of doubt. "Why did you call us here? From what the messenger said, it seems quite serious."

Susan took a deep breath and placed her hands on the table with her arms crossed. "The reason I invited you all here today is to ask you to stand in a fair and impartial manner and help Jiulong and me judge a matter."

Susan's voice was firm and powerful, just as it was when she hosted auctions, easily gaining people's trust. Her gaze swept across everyone's faces, as if seeking their support.

Cao He's expression grew even more displeased. He frowned, seemingly unhappy with Susan's request. "You went to all that trouble to bring us here just so we could be the referees?"

Seeing this, "Queen of Hearts" Sven Le quickly stepped in to smooth things over, saying, "Let's not rush things, let's hear what Susan has to say."

So the four of them sat down in the center and waited quietly for Susan to speak.

The atmosphere in the meeting room became heavy due to the conversation among the group.

Susan forced a smile, glanced at the cautious Jiulong and his two companions, and then continued, "I consider myself to be conscientious and dedicated to my job at 'Red Hearts 10,' always prioritizing business interests. But Jiulong, he actually wants my life!"

He secretly contacted the City of Spades, plotting to kill me to achieve his nefarious goals. Not only did he target me alone, but he also intends to harm the "Ten of Diamonds"!

Upon hearing the last sentence, Jiulong was filled with questions. He immediately slammed his fist on the table and stood up, shouting, "I didn't! You're making false accusations!"
