Chapter 126 You two didn't actually talk about it, did you?
Song Xu hurriedly picked up Xu Wantang's phone and saw a clear photo. The person in the photo was Lin Xi, hugging another person.
Judging from the background of the photo, it's at an intersection near the apartment.
The person holding Lin Xi was only visible from behind; he had a buzz cut, dark skin, wore cargo pants with a loose t-shirt, and was not tall.
Song Xu suddenly stood up, wanting to go back, but then he suddenly remembered something, zoomed in on the photo, saw Lin Xi's brightly smiling face, and sat down again.
He handed the phone back to Xu Wantang, "Mom, where did you get this photo?"
“Lu Yunqi just sent it to me,” Xu Wantang said, frowning. “I didn’t believe it at first, but the photo doesn’t look photoshopped, so I thought I’d bring it over for you to see.”
She finally accepted her as a daughter-in-law; she mustn't let another man steal her away.
"Xiaoqi?" Song Xu frowned. "Why is she downstairs at the apartment building?"
Lu Yunqi sat in the car, snapping photos of Lin Xi again. She was so lucky today; she had caught Lin Xi cheating on her husband with another man and even daring to bring him to Song Xu's apartment.
She came to the apartment today to see Song Xu and also to annoy Lin Xi, but she didn't expect to have such an unexpected gain.
Lin Xi was unaware that she had been photographed; all her attention was focused on Jiang Ran.
"Ranran, why did you shave your head?" Lin Xi touched Jiang Ran's hair in disbelief.
Jiang Ran grinned and patted her hair a couple of times in a cool manner. "Isn't it cool? Washing your hair like this is super convenient. It only takes half a minute. You have no idea how great it is."
Lin Xi touched Jiang Ran's face again and said with concern, "How did you get so tanned? Didn't you wear sunscreen?"
"I applied it for the first two days," Jiang Ran said, "and now only my teeth are white. "Later, I was so tired every day that I didn't even have the energy to wash my face. I just wanted to lie down for a while. How could I have the energy to apply that stuff?"
Lin Xi's eyes reddened. "You must have suffered a lot these past month."
"It was a bit tough," Jiang Ran said, pulling Lin Xi's hand onto her arm. "Feel it, aren't my muscles a lot bigger?"
Lin Xi pinched her biceps. "Really, they're big and hard."
After Lin Xi finished speaking, Jiang Ran laughed so hard she bent over. "Hahaha, if I were a man, I'd be strutting around like that when you praise me like that."
"You're so indecent." Lin Xi realized what was happening, blushed, and laughed along with Jiang Ran.
"Xixi, I bought you some snacks," Jiang Ran turned around and took out two large bags of snacks from the car. "Take them upstairs first, and then we'll go out to eat together?"
Lin Xi took a bag and linked arms with Jiang Ran, "Come upstairs with me, I'll cook for you myself today."
"Can I go up?" Jiang Ran asked, somewhat surprised.
“Sure, I’ve already spoken to him,” Lin Xi said. “Oh, by the way, there’s a beautiful lady upstairs. I’ll introduce her to you in a bit.”
"What beautiful woman?" Jiang Ran put her arm around Lin Xi's shoulder. "Did you find someone new while I was away?"
"I found you a new sister while you were working hard," Lin Xi touched her face. "Am I very generous?"
"Heh, that's gone too far," Jiang Ran snorted.
"Ranran, is there anything you'd like to eat?" Lin Xi had been excited ever since she saw Jiang Ran; she finally had a chance to show off her cooking skills to Jiang Ran.
"I love everything you make." Jiang Ran looked at her with affection.
Lin Xi smiled and said, "Okay, then I'll just do whatever I want."
Lin Xi led Jiang Ran inside and handed her slippers, saying, "Ranran, wear these."
"Sweetie," Lin Xi called out, "we're here."
Bai Tiantian jogged over from inside to greet her, "Hi..."
Seeing Jiang Ran's fair complexion, Bai Tiantian froze, her hand frozen in mid-air.
Jiang Ran put her hands on her hips and looked at Bai Tiantian, both sizing each other up.
"Bai Tiantian?" Jiang Ran recognized Bai Tiantian first.
Bai Tiantian covered her mouth and gasped, "You are... Jiang Ran?"
Lin Xi stood between the two, looking left and right. "You two know each other?"
"I don't know him!"
"My mortal enemy!"
The two spoke at the same time, but their answers were different.
Jiang Ran said she "didn't know him," while Bai Tiantian said she was his "arch-enemy."
Jiang Ran rolled her eyes. "You're like a persistent ghost. How did you manage to chase me all the way to Jiangbei?"
"Who's chasing you?" Bai Tiantian rolled her eyes at her. "I came to Jiangbei for my studies and career. What does it have to do with you?"
Lin Xi's big eyes darted back and forth between the two, trying to guess their relationship. "You two...you didn't date, did you?"
She had seen girls dating each other when she was in middle school; she didn't understand it, but she respected it.
Bai Tiantian exploded, "How could that be? I would like her? She doesn't have any tools, what use is she?"
Jiang Ran scoffed coldly, "Seduce men!"
“How is this called seducing men? It’s not like I can’t live without men,” Bai Tiantian retorted.
"Why don't you sit on the sofa and argue?" Lin Xi suggested. "Aren't you tired of standing?"
Bai Tiantian turned around and went inside first. "If I had known it was her, I would have left."
Jiang Ran snorted coldly, "If I had known she was here, I wouldn't have come."
Lin Xi sighed heavily behind them, "I feel like I'm the most superfluous one."
Jiang Ran stopped and turned around to hug Lin Xi. "Xi Xi, don't overthink it. No one can replace you in my heart."
Bai Tiantian sat on the sofa, and upon hearing Jiang Ran's words, her dark circles rolled so wide they were almost invisible. "How disgusting! Don't talk to our Xixi anymore."
Lin Xi pulled Jiang Ran to sit down, and the three of them formed a triangle.
"Sweetie, I remember your family is from Baiyun City," Lin Xi asked.
Bai Tiantian nodded, "She and I were classmates in junior high school."
"There's also a primary school," Jiang Ran reminded her.
Bai Tiantian snorted coldly, "Actually, we've known each other since kindergarten."
"Oh!" Lin Xi shrugged. "As expected, I'm the one I'm least familiar with."
“We broke up in the second year of junior high,” Jiang Ran said.
Bai Tiantian lowered her eyes and said, "To avoid me, she ran away in the third year of junior high school and went to Jiangbei City."
“Who said I came to Jiangbei to study to avoid you?” Jiang Ran glanced at her. “You don’t have that much influence. I’m a migrant worker; my parents were transferred to other jobs.”
“But you could have stayed,” Bai Tiantian said, tears welling in her eyes. “We promised to go to the same high school and then the same university, but you broke our promise.”
"How dare you say I broke the agreement?" Jiang Ran slapped the sofa and stood up, pointing at Bai Tiantian. "You betrayed me first."
"I considered you my best friend, but you spread my secret."
Bai Tiantian also stood up, "I explained it to you before, it wasn't me who said it, and if we're talking about backstabbing, you backstabbed me first!"
