Chapter 148 You'd better treat Xixi better

When his gaze fell on Lin Xi's face, his pupils contracted slightly, as if he were seeing his wife Zhou Ruolan when she was young; they looked so alike.
He pointed at Lin Xi and asked the Song brothers, "Who is that girl?"
Song Xu turned around and saw Lin Xi. He waved to Lin Xi, "Xi Xi, come here. This is Uncle Lu, the father of Brother Yunzhou and Xiao Qi."
Lin Xi walked to Song Xu's side, exchanged a glance with Lu Zhentao, and felt unusually calm instead of the nervousness she had imagined. She nodded slightly and said, "Uncle Lu, my name is Lin Xi."
"You're Lin Xi?" Lu Zhentao looked her up and down, and the more he looked, the more she resembled him. It wasn't just her facial features, but also her aloof temperament; she was just too similar.
He kept touching the large gold ring on his hand, asking, "How old am I?"
"Eighteen," Lin Xi replied calmly, her brows furrowing slightly as she wondered why they were asking her age.
"What do your parents do?" Lu Zhentao asked again.
Lin Xi looked up at him again, her voice growing colder, "I have no father or mother, only a grandmother who has retired."
Bai Tiantian also stood next to Song Chen. Seeing that Lu Zhentao kept asking Lin Xi questions, Song Chen said, "Uncle Lu, this is my fiancée, Bai Tiantian."
"Hello, Uncle Lu." Knowing that this was Lu Yunqi's father, Bai Tiantian didn't have much of a liking for him, but she greeted him politely.
When Lu Zhentao heard that Song Chen was going to marry into the Bai family of Baiyun City, he glanced at Bai Tiantian a few more times and said, "So you are Miss Bai."
Song Xu pulled Lin Xi behind him, "Uncle Lu, it's very late, you should go back and rest, and take care of yourself."

Bai Tiantian blinked, unsure what was going on between Lin Xi and Song Xu, but as her best friend and future sister-in-law, she had to be Lin Xi's support. "Of course you can stay as long as you want."
"Won't that disturb you and your brother?" Lin Xi glanced at Song Chen.
Song Chen caught her gaze. "No, you're staying at Tian Tian's place. Tian Tian can come upstairs and stay with me."
Bai Tiantian snorted coldly and shook off Song Chen's hand. "Who wants to live with you? Go live with Song Xu."
"Xi Xi, let's take a taxi." Bai Tiantian took Lin Xi's hand, and the two walked towards the hospital entrance.
Song Chen looked at his empty hands, bewildered. How had he offended Tian Tian?
"Xi Xi!" Song Xu chased after her.
"Sweetie!" Song Chen realized what was happening and followed after her.
Bai Tiantian grabbed Lin Xi and ran off. Before Song Xu and Song Chen could catch up, they got into a taxi and left.
Song Xu and Song Chen stared at each other as the taxi drove away.
"Why is Tian Tian angry?" Song Chen asked, puzzled.
Song Xu put his hands on his hips and said dejectedly, "It's probably because you lied to her."
"What did I lie to her about?" Song Chen frowned.
Song Xu shook his head. People always see things clearly when they see other people's affairs. "You know perfectly well that she is the Bai family's daughter and your fiancée, yet you still want to play along with her."
"She lied to me first, and I wasn't even angry, so why is she angry?" Song Chen asked, looking puzzled.
Song Xu sighed, "Brother, listen to my advice, never try to reason with a woman in this lifetime."
After saying that, he pulled Song Chen toward the parking lot. "Brother, I'll have to stay at your place tonight. I'll leave whenever Xixi comes back to the apartment with me."
“Tell me the truth,” Song Chen grabbed Song Xu’s collar, “Did you bully Xi Xi?”
“How could I possibly bully Xixi? I dote on her too much,” Song Xu replied.
“We’re all men, you should understand what I mean,” Song Chen asked, his eyes wide.
Song Xu licked his lips. "Brother, I'm planning to take Lin Xi abroad to register our marriage. I'm serious about her."
Song Chen understood; his Xi Xi had really been taken by this brat.
He hated himself for waking up too late. If he had woken up a month or two earlier, he definitely wouldn't have let Song Xu succeed so easily.
"You'd better treat Xixi better," Song Chen sneered, "or I'll hide her away so you'll never see her again in your life."
