Chapter 61 The Stinky Stone with a Stable Emotion

Chapter 61 The Emotionally Stable Stinky Stone

Wasn't he unable to lift his arms? How did he get from his room to here?

Song Xu coughed weakly twice. "I called you, but you didn't respond. I thought you had fainted, so I came to check on you."

"I'm sorry, I was taking a shower and didn't hear you," Lin Xi felt it was her fault and she should have told the boss first. "Could you go back to your room?"

Song Xu shook his head, "I can't go back, I don't have the strength."

After he finished speaking, he closed his eyes.

Lin Xi stood there in silence for a long time before turning around to find clothes to put on.

She stared at Song Xu for a while longer, and finally had no choice but to accept it, since there was nothing he could do in his current state.

While Song Xu was lying there, Lin Xi cleaned his bedroom and changed the bedding.

When she returned, Song Xu was asleep.

Lin Xi touched Song Xu's forehead; it was starting to heat up again. The intervals between taking fever-reducing medication were too short, so she could only try physical cooling methods.

She still has one trick she hasn't used yet: cupping, a technique passed down from her grandmother.

She has rarely been to the hospital in her life. For minor colds, she doesn't take much medicine; a few cupping sessions are all it takes for her to recover quickly.

Lin Xi searched everywhere and finally found a glass jar that was a suitable size.

Song Xu felt someone helping him turn over. He couldn't open his eyes, and he could only feel fire shooting out of his nostrils. It was very hot.

Lin Xi wiped the sweat from her forehead. This bath was a waste of time. She touched Song Xu's neck, which was dry and hot without any sweat.

She's not a professional cupping therapist, but her technique is alright. She's practiced cupping on her grandma's back a lot, so she's quite confident.

With limited tools, she lit a small wad of cotton wool and threw it into the glass jar. After the air inside had burned out, she quickly and accurately placed the jar over Song Xu's Dazhui acupoint.

Song Xu woke up and felt the flesh on his neck gathering together, as if something was sucking him in. It hurt a little, and he couldn't move.

"Lin Xi," he called out.

"Does it hurt?" Lin Xi helped him cover himself with the blanket. "You have a fever again. I'll give you cupping therapy. It'll only take ten minutes."

"Cupping?" Song Xu perked up again. He had only seen it before, but had never tried it. The first time, Lin Xi had done it for him. "Where did you get those cupping jars?"

"I bought some canned fruit a few days ago. Luckily, I didn't throw away the glass jar," Lin Xi explained.

"A fruit can jar?" Song Xu raised his hand and touched the back of his neck. It was a huge jar; he could barely hold it with one hand. He remembered that other people's cupping sets were small. "Lin Xi, are you sure it's okay to use such a big jar?"

"No problem, I've been using this big glass jar to do puckers since I was little, and my grandma does it all the time, so don't worry," Lin Xi reassured her.

Song Xu was worried; the jar was too big, and it would be a waste of his money. He held back for a while and asked twice, "Lin Xi, is it time?"

"No, it's only been two minutes," Lin Xi said, sitting at her desk reading without even looking up. "I set a timer on my phone, you can sleep a little longer."

Lin Xi phrased it tactfully; she wanted Song Xu to shut up and stop asking every minute, saying it was really annoying.

Song Xu closed his eyes, suppressing his anger. That stinky stone was disliking him again, daring to bully him like this while he was sick. Once he recovered, he would definitely get his revenge.

These ten minutes felt so long, but finally the alarm clock rang.

Lin Xi turned off the alarm clock, slowly walked to the bedside, inserted her index finger between the jar opening and her skin, allowing air to enter the jar. The negative pressure inside gradually decreased, and the glass jar came off.

Song Xu let out a muffled groan.

The jar mark is purple, indicating that cold air entered the body, which must have been caused by the air conditioning. Who would be so kind as to set their air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius?

Lin Xi pressed a clean towel against the jar mark and gently rubbed it. This would help the pores close quickly and prevent them from getting cold again.

Whether it was Song Xu's nervousness or the effectiveness of the cupping, a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.

“I’m thirsty,” Song Xu said in a slightly hoarse voice, “and I want some lemon water.”

Lin Xi didn't say anything. After covering him with the blanket, she left the room to get some water.

Song Xu turned over and lay flat on the bed.

Lin Xi walked in carrying a large glass of water with a few lemon slices and a straw. She sat on the edge of the bed and put the straw into Song Xu's mouth. "Drink it."

For the first time, Song Xu felt that the straw was unnecessary. He took a sip; it was warm and only tasted of lemon, with no sweetness at all.

He spat out the straw, frowned, and asked, "Why isn't it sweet? Why isn't it iced?"

“Your fever is caused by catching a cold, so you can’t drink anything cold anymore. As for sweetness…” Lin Xi blinked, “You didn’t say you wanted sugar added. Don’t men not like sweets?”

Does liking sweets have a gender distinction? Song Xu took two sips and then stopped, suspecting that Lin Xi was doing it on purpose.

Lin Xi found a thermometer and fired it at Song Xu's forehead. Song Xu saw mockery in her eyes.

"Thirty-eight degrees and two degrees, the temperature is still very high," Lin Xi said with worry after seeing the temperature. "If the temperature doesn't come down tonight, I'll have to go to the hospital tomorrow."

“No,” Song Xu refused decisively. “I know my body. I’ll be fine tomorrow. Thank you for your hard work tonight.”

"It's alright, it's what I should do." Lin Xi's reply was very official and distant.

This annoyed Song Xu. He opened his bloodshot eyes and said, "I'm hungry. I want to eat noodle soup, hand-pulled noodles."

“Okay,” Lin Xi, who had just sat down, stood up again. “Making noodles by hand takes a while. Call me if anything urgent comes up.”

She might not be able to hear Song Xu's weak cries from the kitchen, so she found Song Xu's phone and placed it beside him.

Lin Xi moved to the kitchen, and just as she finished kneading the dough, Song Xu called.

"What's up, Mr. Song?" Lin Xi asked as she answered the phone.

A deep voice came from the phone, "I want some water, come and feed me."

Lin Xi ran back to the room and fed Song Xu water.

Lin Xi finished preparing the dishes when Song Xu called again, "Lin Xi, the area where I had cupping done is really itchy, can you come and see what's wrong?"

Lin Xi jogged back and scratched him a couple more times. "It's a normal reaction, nothing to worry about."

Lin Xi had just finished cutting the noodles when Song Xu called her back to the room. "Lin Xi, my head hurts so much, can you massage it for me?"

Lin Xi clenched her fists, calmed herself down, and sat on the edge of the bed to massage Song Xu's forehead. She started massaging from the left temple, squeezing as she massaged.

A small, dark purple star quickly appeared on Song Xu's fair forehead, followed by one after another, seven in a row, evenly and symmetrically distributed.

"Mr. Song, are you feeling better?" Lin Xi asked with a smile.

Song Xu closed his eyes and hummed in agreement. "I feel better. When will the noodles be ready? I'm starving."

"It'll be quick." Lin Xi got up and left.

Song Xu opened his eyes and stared at Lin Xi's departing figure. This stinky stone's emotions were strangely stable.

Lin Xi returned to the kitchen, turned on the stove, and started cooking vegetables and noodles.

She had just put the vegetables into the hot pan when her phone rang again. Without even looking at it, she pressed the answer button. "Mr. Song, what's wrong now?"

Instead of hearing Song Xu's deep, husky voice, a gentle female voice came from the phone, "Xi Xi, it's me!"
