Chapter 275 I've Come to Propose Marriage
"You proposed?" Zhou Ruolan looked at Lin Xi's finger, not seeing a new ring, and was not entirely satisfied. "How did you propose?"
Lin Xi put away the engagement ring; she felt that wearing such a large diamond was too ostentatious.
"Mom," Lin Xi quickly explained when she saw Zhou Ruolan's pale face, "Song Xu proposed to me last night, and I put the engagement ring away."
"Where is it? Let me see." Zhou Ruolan wanted to see Song Xu's sincerity, and didn't want him to come with some cheap ring worth a few hundred thousand to propose.
"I'll go get it." Lin Xi glanced at Song Xu, then turned and went to her room to get the ring.
“Song Xu, marriage is a big deal,” Zhou Ruolan said calmly, “It’s not just a matter between the two of you.”
"Mom, I understand. I'll have my parents come over tomorrow to discuss my marriage with Xixi," Song Xu immediately said.
“There probably won’t be time tomorrow,” Zhou Ruolan shook her head. “You should have heard about Yunzhou from Xixi. We need to visit Niannian’s family tomorrow to discuss their marriage.”
Song Xu thought for a moment, "Yunzhou's matter is important, so I'll discuss it with my parents and have them come over the day after tomorrow."
Zhou Ruolan neither said yes nor no, she just smiled slightly.
Lin Xi came running back, holding the ring Song Xu had given her. "Mom, look at this."
Zhou Ruolan opened the box and saw the heart-shaped blue diamond ring lying inside. She raised an eyebrow. If she remembered correctly, this "Heart of the Ocean" was an auction item.
I heard that a young man bought it for 40 million US dollars, but unexpectedly it was Song Xu who bought it as an engagement ring and gave it to Xi Xi.
She placed the ring box back into Lin Xi's hand. "It's beautiful, why don't you wear it?"

The blue diamond suits my daughter quite well. Zhou Ruolan patted Lin Xi's hair and said, "Go help Song Xu change his clothes. We're about to have dinner."
Back in his room, the first thing Song Xu did was call his mother and tell her what had happened. "Mom, how about you and Dad come over the day after tomorrow to discuss our wedding?"
When Xu Wantang heard that Lu Yunzhou had already started preparing for the wedding, she couldn't sit still any longer. "What are we waiting for the day after tomorrow? Your father and I will go there now. I've already prepared everything."
"Isn't this too hasty?" Song Xu hesitated for a moment.
"What's the rush?" Xu Wantang said dismissively. "Zhou Ruolan and I are like sisters. Even if I go in the middle of the night, she won't object. Okay, it's settled then. I still need to pack my things."
Hearing the beeping sound from his phone, Song Xu reluctantly put it down.
Lin Xi walked over. "What's wrong?"
"My parents might be coming over tonight," Song Xu said.
"Is something wrong?" Lin Xi didn't hear what Song Xu was saying on the phone. She assumed that Song Xu's parents had something to discuss with her mother.
Song Xu touched his nose. "They must be here to propose marriage."
"Huh?" Lin Xi was taken aback. "Why are you suddenly coming to talk about marriage? Didn't you say you'd come the day after tomorrow?"
“I can’t stop my mom’s impulsive nature,” Song Xu sighed. “Well, it’s bound to happen sooner or later.”
While Lu Yunzhou is away, it's better to talk things out to avoid any unforeseen complications.
"Then I'll tell my mom first, so she can be mentally prepared," Lin Xi said.
"Wait a minute," Song Xu stopped Lin Xi. "My parents are unreliable. It would be awkward if they didn't come."
"Alright then." Lin Xi touched the ring on her finger; she liked it very much.
During the meal, Lin Xi couldn't help but glance towards the door. Song Xu put food on her plate and said, "Xi Xi, focus on your meal."
Zhou Ruolan glanced at the two of them, sensing that they were hiding something from her, but she remained silent and ate her meal quietly.
Jiang Ran's attention was focused on the food. "Auntie, your food is so delicious! It's so much better than the school cafeteria!"
“The school cafeteria food can’t compare to home-cooked meals,” Zhou Ruolan smiled. “If you like it, stay at your aunt’s house for a few more days. You have a week off this time anyway.”
Jiang Ran nodded, "I'll treat this place as my home from now on."
“Of course, with your aunt here, this is your home,” Zhou Ruolan said, patting Jiang Ran’s hand.
After dinner, the four of them sat in the living room chatting about everyday things.
Lin Xi and Song Xu huddled together as if they were plotting something. Zhou Ruolan coughed and asked, "Xi Xi, what are you and Song Xu whispering about?"
"It's nothing," Lin Xi licked her lips, "I was just asking Song Xu a question."
Song Xu glanced at his phone. His parents hadn't made a move yet; were they coming or not?
Zhou Ruolan took a sip of warm tea. "Could it be that we're having guests?"
Lin Xi and Song Xu were taken aback; they hadn't said anything.
"Mom, how did you guess?" Lin Xi asked in confusion.
Zhou Ruolan raised an eyebrow, realizing she had guessed correctly. She looked at Lin Xi and said, "You've been looking towards the door; you're waiting for someone."
"Are the people related to you Song Xu's parents?"
Lin Xi hadn't expected to be so obvious, and she was a little nervous. "Mom, it's just a possibility that they might come over. Song Xu and I aren't really sure."
Zhou Ruolan smiled slightly. Knowing Xu Wantang as she did, she knew that no matter how late it was, she would come over.
She immediately arranged for people to prepare tea, fruit platters, and snacks, so that she wouldn't be caught off guard if someone came unexpectedly.
Hearing Zhou Ruolan's arrangements, Lin Xi became even more anxious. What if Song Xu's parents didn't come? Would her mother be very angry?
Song Xu was getting a little anxious. He took out his phone and called Xu Wantang, but no one answered after several rings.
Song Xu called his father again, but no one answered.

Xu Wantang and Song Qingshi stood side by side at the door, accompanied by several servants who were carrying things into the villa.
It took several people several trips to finally move all the things, which piled up like a small mountain at the entrance.
Xu Wantang smiled radiantly as she walked towards Zhou Ruolan, "Ruolan, I've come to propose marriage."
