Chapter 144 Did Brother Chen suffer from amnesia?
“Xi Xi,” Song Xu walked over and patted Lin Xi’s hair, “Don’t cry. Grandma is still very weak. Let her rest.”
Lin Xi had almost finished crying. She let go of Grandma Lin and sat up straight. Her eyes and nose were red. She held Grandma Lin's hand and asked, "Grandma, would you like some water?"
Grandma Lin shook her head slightly, "Xixi, how did you and your boyfriend meet?"
This boy doesn't seem like an ordinary person; he can even help Lin Xi pay for her expensive medical bills, so he must come from a very good family.
I don't know if he's truly sincere towards Xixi.
Lin Xi took the tissue Song Xu handed her and wiped away her tears. She was too embarrassed to talk about what happened between her and Song Xu. "Grandma, it's a long story. You've been in a coma for two months. I'll tell you about it when you feel better in a few days."
Grandma Lin nodded. "You all go ahead and do your work. I need to rest for a while."
Grandma Lin was a little tired, so she closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.
Lin Xi was terrified when she saw her grandmother fall asleep quickly. She was afraid that her grandmother would fall into a coma again, so she stared at her grandmother without moving.
Song Xu handed the phone back to Lin Xi, "Xi Xi, that was Bai Tiantian calling just now."
Lin Xi turned to look at him, "Sweetie, is something wrong?"
She was crying so hard she couldn't answer the phone, so Song Xu had to answer it for her.
"My brother fainted and is on his way here." Song Xu's expression was grave, hoping that his brother's illness wasn't serious.
"Brother Chen fainted?" Lin Xi was quite surprised to hear this news. "Tian Tian must be very worried."
Just then, Song Xu's phone rang; it was Zhang Qing calling.
"Mr. Song, we're almost at the hospital entrance."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Song Xu hung up the phone and looked at Lin Xi, "Xi Xi, you stay here with Grandma, I'm going to go see my brother."
Lin Xi couldn't let go of either side. She glanced at Grandma Lin on the hospital bed and figured she probably wouldn't wake up soon, so she asked the newly hired caregiver to watch over her while she went with Song Xu to see Song Chen.
“Sweetie,” Lin Xi saw Bai Tiantian crying, “What’s wrong with Brother Chen? Don’t panic.”
"Xi Xi," Bai Tiantian said excitedly when she saw Lin Xi, "I'm so glad to see you. I have something really important to tell you."
Seeing Song Chen being rushed away by a nurse, with Song Xu following anxiously beside him, Lin Xi pulled Bai Tiantian along to follow. "We can talk about it later. Let's go see what's wrong with Brother Chen first."
Bai Tiantian swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue. She sighed and thought, "Maybe we should wait until Song Chen wakes up before we talk about it."
They ran to the door of the emergency room, where a doctor asked about Song Chen's condition. At that time, only Bai Tiantian and Song Chen were together. Song Xu and Lin Xi looked at Bai Tiantian at the same time.
Bai Tiantian licked her lips and said, "He must have had amnesia before. After looking at a photo, he seemed to remember something, and then his expression turned painful. He broke out in a cold sweat and eventually fainted from the pain."
Song Xu was stunned. "My brother remembered everything?"
"Has he forgotten a lot of things before?" Bai Tiantian asked Song Xu.
Song Xu nodded stiffly, glancing at Lin Xi subconsciously.
"That's right." Bai Tiantian sighed again, then stole a glance at Lin Xi.
Lin Xi noticed that they were both looking at her and wondered, "Did Brother Chen have amnesia?"
She only knew that Song Chen was the adopted son of the Song family, but she didn't know that he had amnesia.
“Yes, twelve years ago,” Song Xu said meaningfully.
Before Lin Xi could think about anything, Song Chen was wheeled into the emergency room, and her attention followed him.
“Brother Chen should be fine,” Lin Xi comforted Song Xu and Bai Tiantian. “I’ve read some reports that when people with amnesia recall the past, it triggers certain nerves, which can cause headaches. As long as you don’t think about it, it won’t hurt.”
Song Xu and Bai Tiantian remained silent. They couldn't make the decision; it was up to Song Chen himself.
Song Xu felt increasingly anxious. The inevitable had finally arrived. How was he going to face his brother, Xi Xi, and Grandma Lin?
Will his family be able to forgive him? Will they stop talking to him?
Song Xu took out his phone and dialed Song Qingshi's number. The call was disconnected after two rings.
Sigh! His dad is probably pestering his mom again, but he can't worry about that right now.
Song Xu dialed Xu Wantang's number again. This time it rang a few times before being answered. Song Qingshi answered, his tone extremely impatient, "You'd better have something important to say."
"Dad, my brother has fainted," Song Xu said urgently.
"What! What happened to Chenchen?" Xu Wantang snatched the phone and asked.
"Mom, it seems like my brother has remembered everything," Song Xu paced back and forth in the corridor, his mind racing. "Should we come to the hospital?"
...
When Song Qingshi and his wife arrived at the hospital, Song Chen had already come out of the emergency room. He was only temporarily unconscious and would wake up soon.
Song Xu and Bai Tiantian stayed in Song Chen's hospital room. Seeing that Song Chen was not in any major problems, Lin Xi went back to accompany Grandma Lin.
"Xiao Xu, how is Chenchen?" Xu Wantang asked Song Xu anxiously as soon as she entered the ward.
Song Xu shook his head, looking utterly dejected.
Xu Wantang gasped and grabbed Song Xu's arm. "What do you mean? Is Chenchen impotent?"
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face.
"Chenchen," Xu Wantang threw herself at Song Chen, "Don't scare your mother, wake up quickly."
Song Qingshi's expression was heavy, and he was heartbroken. How could his perfectly healthy son suddenly become unwell? "Xiao Xu, transfer him to another hospital. We'll find the best doctors in the country, no, the world, to treat Chenchen."
"Uncle, Auntie," Bai Tiantian explained, speechless, "Song Chen just fainted. The doctor said he'll be fine once he wakes up."
"Huh?" Upon hearing Bai Tiantian's words, Xu Wantang stood up, wiped away her tears, and looked Bai Tiantian up and down. "Who are you?"
"I..." Bai Tiantian hesitated, wondering how to introduce herself. "My surname is Bai, and I'm from Baiyun City."
I wonder if Mrs. Song can guess what she meant by that introduction.
"The Bai family of Baiyun City?" Xu Wantang's eyes lit up. "Could you be...?"
Bai Tiantian smiled knowingly at Xu Wantang, "Auntie, you have to keep this a secret for me, Song Chen doesn't know yet."
Song Xu rolled her eyes when she heard Bai Tiantian's words, as if she was the only one who didn't know.
Song Qingshi kicked Song Xu hard, "You brat, can't you speak properly? You scared your mother and me half to death."
Song Xu took a solid kick. He could have dodged it, but he was afraid his father would hurt his back, so he didn't.
"What are you doing?" Xu Wantang stepped in front of Song Xu. "Song Qingshi, if you dare to touch Xiao Xu again, I'll never forgive you."
The noise in the ward woke Song Chen up. He frowned, slowly opened his eyes, and saw the people in the ward. His gaze fixed on Song Xu. "Xiao Xu, where's Xi Xi?"
