Chapter 245 Hello Nian Nian, I'm your older sister

Jiang Hongbo paused for two seconds, then said, "I don't know if your brother-in-law is a tycoon, but he should be quite wealthy."

Someone who can afford a Cullinan is definitely not poor, but he had no idea exactly how rich they were; what if the car was borrowed?

"Really? So, is your sister going to buy you the house outright, or just pay the down payment?" Jiang Nian asked.

“I didn’t ask that. We can’t afford it if we have a mortgage,” Jiang Hongbo said.

“If my sister can make the down payment, I’ll take care of the mortgage,” Jiang Nian said, puffing out her chest. “With my current income, a small mortgage is nothing to me.”

Jiang Hongbo rolled his eyes at her, "That's called a part-time job. You're only working today and not tomorrow. You'll have to pay off your mortgage for ten or twenty years."

Jiang Nian thought that made sense, and she had gotten a little carried away these past few days. "No, we can rent a place, a ground floor one, so it'll be convenient for you to come and go."

"That's something we can consider." Jiang Hongbo nodded. If his eldest daughter brought up the house again, he would rent one nearby. Two or three thousand a month would be enough.

He can rent out this house, which will cover half of the rent.

"I'll talk to your mom about it when she gets back."

“I’m going to find my mom right now and help her pack up her stall,” Jiang Nian said, putting on her new shoes. “I made a lot of money today, so she can rest for a few days.”

“Go!” Jiang Hongbo nodded. He was at ease no matter where his youngest daughter went; no one could bully her.

Jiang Nian, wearing new shoes, went downstairs incredibly fast, taking two steps per floor.

My mother's stall is about a kilometer away from home, at a busy intersection.

She jumps around a bit every now and then, and it seems like she can jump higher than usual. These shoes are really light; there's a reason they're expensive.

"Help!"

Jiang Nian suddenly heard a woman's cries. How could she, with her chivalrous spirit, stand by and watch someone die? She ran in the direction of the sound.

Not far from her, at the corner of a building behind her house, a man was covering a woman's mouth with one hand while groping her body with the other.

Holy crap! Jiang Nian can't stand this kind of thing. That damned man should be crippled.

In the blink of an eye, Jiang Nian rushed over, grabbed the man's groping hand, and with a forceful twist, broke his wrist. Then she pulled the man away from behind the woman and kicked him.

"ah!"

"Thump!"

"groove!"

The man was writhing on the ground in pain.

"Are you alright?" Jiang Nian patted the still-shaken woman and asked, "Where are you going? I'll take you."

Jiang Yan hugged herself tightly, breathing heavily; she was truly terrified.

She looked up at the girl in front of her. "Thank you. My legs are a little weak. I think I need to rest for a while."

"You look kind of familiar to me," Jiang Nian said, crossing her arms as she looked at Jiang Yan, unable to quite place her for a moment.

Jiang Yan also stared at Jiang Nian. She had the same feeling; the girl looked familiar, but she was sure she had never seen her before.

She looked Jiang Nian up and down and noticed the shoes on Jiang Nian's feet. She had just sent over a pair of these shoes yesterday for her sister whom she hadn't met yet.

"Is your surname Jiang?" Jiang Yan asked.

Jiang Nian nodded in surprise, "Do we know each other? I don't remember you."

"Niannian?" Jiang Yan asked cautiously.

"Wow! You actually know me!" Jiang Nian was stunned, her eyes wide open.

Jiang Yan smiled and hugged her, "Niannian, hello, I'm your older sister Jiang Yan."

Jiang Nian froze. "Sister?"

“Yes,” Jiang Yan released Jiang Nian, “I got off work early today and wanted to come see Dad, but I got lost and can’t find which building it is. I’ve been going around in circles for a while.”

“This man has his eye on me,” Jiang Yan said, pointing to the man who was still lying on the ground groaning. “When he saw that no one was around, he tried to drag me into the stairwell.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Nian got so angry that she went over and kicked the man a few more times. She then said to Jiang Yan, "I know him. His name is Li Haifeng. He's a notorious hoodlum around here. He's almost forty and still can't get married."

"You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror," Jiang Nian said, getting angrier by the thought. "You dare to make a move on my sister? You've really messed with me today."

"Jiang Nian, you dare hit me!" Li Haifeng endured the pain and took out his phone. "I'm calling the police. You'll be going to jail!"

Jiang Nian frowned. "You were the one who tried to take advantage of my sister first. You deserved to be hit."

"Do you have any evidence?" Li Haifeng sneered. "There are no surveillance cameras here, and you're sisters, so witness testimony doesn't count."

“Who says the testimony of relatives doesn’t count?” Jiang Yan said calmly. “You don’t need to call the police; I’ll do it myself.”

"Sister, is it okay if I beat him up like this?" Jiang Nian asked softly.

Jiang Yan glanced at Li Haifeng on the ground. "He's fine, at most a minor injury, it's manageable."

"You think you can just say it's nothing? Who do you think you are?" Li Haifeng revealed a disgusting face.

Jiang Yan snorted coldly, "I am a judge of the Jiangbei Intermediate People's Court. Who do you think I am?"

After she finished speaking, she dialed the police.

The police arrived quickly and, after understanding the situation, took Li Haifeng to the hospital.

"Sister, you're amazing!" Jiang Nian gave Jiang Yan a thumbs up.

Jiang Yan grasped Jiang Nian's hand, "Nian Nian is even more amazing. I would have been at a disadvantage if I hadn't met you today."

“I’ll take you home first, your dad’s here,” Jiang Nian smiled. “I was originally planning to help my mom pack up her stall, but I bought a lot of good food today, let’s have a drink.”

"Then I'll go with you." Jiang Yan felt exhausted just thinking about making Jiang Nian go up and down seven floors.

“Great, it’ll save me from getting bored walking alone.” Jiang Nian and Jiang Yan walked hand in hand toward the intersection.

Jiang Yan looked at her younger sister, who was about the same height as her, and felt an inexplicable fondness for her. Jiang Nian looked more like her father, so she looked somewhat familiar at first glance.

It's a completely different feeling from Xiang Lei. She watched Xiang Lei grow up and spent eighteen years with her, but she's not as close to Jiang Nianqin as she is to someone she's just met. Perhaps this is the magic of blood ties.

“Sister, the shoes you bought me are really nice,” Jiang Nian said, jumping up and down. “Look how high I can jump, I can’t do that with other shoes.”

Jiang Yan felt much better looking at her energetic younger sister. "I'm glad you like them. Your brother-in-law has a few more pairs in his car. If they break, we'll just replace them. Or if you like other shoes, I can buy them for you."

"No need, no need. I can wear these for a long time. Let's return the other shoes; they're too expensive," Jiang Nian said.

"It's not expensive. I'll buy you whatever you like, Niannian." After only a short time together, Jiang Yan had already fallen deeply in love with this younger sister who was six years younger than her.

Jiang Yan didn't feel bad at all about spending money on Jiang Nian. She wanted to buy all the good things for Jiang Nian, knowing that her sister must have had a tough time all these years.
