Chapter 69 Xixi, you've had too much to drink.
Lin Xi reached out and pressed against Song Xu's chest, explaining softly, "You're overthinking it. I'm just not used to being called that."
"Then let them call it a few more times, they'll get used to it." Song Xu wasn't pushed away, and continued to breathe hot air into Lin Xi's ear.
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng couldn't hear what the two people opposite them were saying, but they could see the two of them embracing and whispering sweet nothings to each other, and Lin Xi's cheeks turned slightly red.
This really hit the hearts of those two single people hard.
“Brother Xu, sister-in-law, wouldn’t it be nice if you two went home and were affectionate?” Shen Yan handed over the menu. “Let’s order first.”
Song Xu let go of Lin Xi, took the menu and looked at it with her, "Order whatever you like."
Lin Xi looked at several dishes; the names were very creative, but she didn't know what they were, and the prices also shocked her.
Each dish costs over 500 yuan, and some of the more expensive ones cost several thousand. The total cost for the four of them would easily exceed 100,000 yuan.
"You order, I'm not picky." Lin Xi pushed the menu toward Song Xu.
Song Xu patted her head, as if praising her, "She's so easy to take care of."
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng both closed their eyes; the scene was too shocking.
Lin Xi pursed her lips and endured Song Xu's actions.
Song Xu, Shen Yan, and Xiao Heng ordered the dishes and also ordered two bottles of Moutai.
"Has military training ended today?" Lin Xi noticed that Shen Yan and Xiao Heng had gotten quite tanned and suddenly thought of this question.
"Damn it, we finally made it through," Shen Yan said, almost crying as she mentioned military training. "Sister-in-law, you were right not to participate in military training. Several girls in our college fainted."
“Sister-in-law, I haven’t had a chance to thank you yet,” Xiao Heng said with a smile, “I didn’t expect you to actually help us sell the goods.”
“Yes, yes,” Shen Yan chimed in, “We’ll send some more things over in a few days, and you can continue to help us sell them.”
"I'm sorry, I can't help you sell anymore," Lin Xi said apologetically, "but the things you left with me will still be sold."
"Why aren't you selling them anymore?" Xiao Heng asked in confusion. He had wanted to ask Lin Xi to help him sell some expensive items so that he could have more money for living expenses each month.
Lin Xi glanced at Song Xu, "Brother Xu won't allow it."
“Brother Xu, that’s not right of you,” Shen Yan protested. “You’ve already won over your sister-in-law, what’s wrong with her helping us sell some things?”
Song Xu opened a bottle of Moutai and poured Lin Xi a small cup of wine. "I was able to win Xi Xi's heart because of my own abilities."
Not just anyone can catch up with Lin Xi, not even if they're rich. Even someone as outstanding as him hasn't completely won Lin Xi over yet.
“Xixi will be starting school soon. She has a lot of schoolwork and has to take care of the family. She doesn’t have time to help you sell garbage.”
Lin Xi wanted to say that she had time; as long as she made money, she could always find the time.
As if understanding Lin Xi's expectant look, Song Xu continued, "If you want Xixi to continue helping you sell trash, that's fine, but the profits need to be redistributed."
"Let's split it 50/50," Song Xu turned his head to meet Lin Xi's surprised gaze and asked with a smile, "Does Xi Xi think that's okay?"
"50/50?" That's too much, isn't it? Of course she thought it was okay, but would Shen Yan and Xiao Heng agree to it?
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng agreed without much hesitation, "Fifty-fifty it is."
"He agreed just like that?" Lin Xi looked at Song Xu in surprise. How did he suddenly become so nice? Not only did he not stop her from making money, but he also helped her secure the greatest benefit.
"Are you too happy?" Song Xu pinched her cheek. "Don't love me too much."
Lin Xi slapped Song Xu's hand away, and the slight goodwill she had just felt vanished.
Thinking that the military training was over, she figured the school should have some new information. She opened her phone and sure enough, she saw a notification in her university's class group chat.
Tomorrow, all teachers and students will participate in the military training performance and opening ceremony.
A new chapter of learning is about to begin.
"What are you looking at?" Song Xu peeked at Lin Xi's phone screen and saw that it was the Jiangda class group. He sat up straight and asked, "Want a drink?"
Lin Xi had never drunk alcohol and didn't know her alcohol tolerance. She shook her head and said, "I can't drink."
Song Xu raised his glass. "I helped you close the deal, aren't you going to toast me?"
“Yes, sister-in-law, drink less. This wine won’t make you drunk,” Shen Yan and Xiao Heng also chimed in. “Drinking too much won’t affect your school tomorrow.”
With the three people urging her to drink, Lin Xi felt embarrassed to refuse. She picked up her small wine cup and said, "Then I can only drink a little bit."
Lin Xi first smelled the wine in her glass. She had only heard of Moutai before, and this was the first time she had seen it. It didn't have a pungent spiciness, but only a rich aroma of wine.
She tried taking a small sip; the wine was quite mild in her mouth, without any spiciness, and after swallowing, it felt warm all the way from her throat to her esophagus to her stomach.
It wasn't bad to drink, but she didn't understand how people could become addicted to alcohol.
"How is it?" Song Xu asked.
Lin Xi spoke frankly, "It's not spicy, but I don't know what's so good about it."
Song Xu smiled and said, "You'll understand once you've had enough to drink."
For the rest of the time, Lin Xi kept her head down and ate her food, not participating in the three boys' conversation.
She would carefully taste the ingredients and cooking methods used in each dish she ate.
Looking at the wine cup beside her, Lin Xi picked it up and took another sip. She quite liked the hot feeling that spread from her mouth to her stomach.
Before she knew it, she had finished the whole cup of wine.
Song Xu calmly poured her another full cup.
Lin Xi felt it was alright and took a couple more bites.
"Brother Xu, are you going to the opening ceremony tomorrow?" Shen Yan suddenly asked.
Participating in this kind of thing is a waste of time, but Song Xu remembered that Lin Xi was supposed to give a speech on behalf of the new students, so he could go and take a look. "There's nothing much going on at the company tomorrow, so I can just go and take a look."
Lin Xi was no longer able to hear what others were saying; she was concentrating on controlling her body.
She blinked hard, gripped the wine cup beside her, and grabbed it to see how it could still move around.
Her chopsticks in her right hand also became unruly; she tried to pick up peanuts from the plate, but missed them all after seven or eight attempts.
Another pair of chopsticks picked up the peanuts and put them into her bowl.
"Xi Xi, are you alright?" Song Xu asked with concern. He raised his hand to touch Lin Xi's face, which was a little hot and red.
Lin Xi was off guard. She looked up at Song Xu, touched his nose with her finger, and traced it down to his mouth. "Pretty handsome!"
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng stared wide-eyed at the two of them. These two were going too far, showing off their affection right there!
Song Xu held Lin Xi's hand, his eyes filled with a smile, "Xi Xi, you've had too much to drink."
"I'm not much, just a little dizzy." Lin Xi swayed her body rhythmically.
Song Xu couldn't sit still any longer. He pulled Lin Xi to her feet and said to Shen Yan and Xiao Heng, "We're leaving first. You guys pay the bill."
