Chapter 33 Is he a greasy middle-aged man?
Lin Xi is in the police station too? Song Xu raised an eyebrow. She's not one to cause trouble.
Song Xu suddenly remembered that Lin Xi had gone to Jiang University to register today. Could it be that something happened at Jiang University?
He wanted to ask Shen Yan in detail what had happened, but after typing a few words on the keyboard, he deleted them.
He closed the chat window, got up, grabbed his car keys, and left the office.
When assistant Zhang Qing saw Song Xu about to leave, he immediately chased after him, "Mr. Song, are you going out?"
"I'm going out to run some errands, I'll be back this afternoon," Song Xu suddenly stopped and asked, "Did you find out anything about that guy surnamed Jiang that I asked you to investigate last time?"
Zhang Qing grinned, "No, her family seems to be quite complicated; we can't find anything about them."
Song Xu frowned. Couldn't find anything? "Then don't bother investigating, lest we alert certain people."
He didn't want to cause trouble for himself and the Song family.
"Yes!" Zhang Qing secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Jiang Ran was really hard to find. He only found out which high school she attended, but her parents and family were all empty-handed, and she had nothing under her name.
"Mr. Song, would you like me to accompany you out?"
Song Xu pondered for a moment, then nodded. "You follow."
When the two arrived at the police station, Song Xu saw Shen Yan and Xiao Heng cursing at a man with a bruised and swollen face as soon as he entered.
"If you dare utter another word, believe me, I'll have your mouth sewn shut!" Shen Yan's face turned red with anger.
Xiao Heng spat out, "I've lived for eighteen years and this is the first time I've ever seen someone like you. Your parents should have drowned you in the toilet when you were born."
Song Xu frowned. These two brats were going too far, acting so arrogantly even in the police station.
Strangely, the police officers around seemed not to hear anything, and were busy organizing their statements.
Turning my head again, I saw Lin Xi with her eyes closed, leaning against a girl's chest.
"Xi Xi, you have to hold on, the ambulance is almost here." Bai Tiantian's voice was trembling with tears as she hugged Lin Xi tightly.
"What's wrong with Lin Xi?" Song Xu ignored Shen Yan and Xiao Heng, bypassed them, and went to Lin Xi to check on her.
Bai Tiantian looked up and saw Song Xu's face. She recognized Song Xu. "It's you. Xi Xi suddenly fainted. She must have been angered by that beast."
You fainted from anger? You must have been incredibly angry.
Song Xu thought it was unlikely. The Lin Xi he knew didn't seem like someone with a short temper. There was another possibility that she fainted because she was afraid of blood.
He followed the direction Bai Tiantian was pointing and saw that the man with a bruised and swollen face had a split mouth that was still bleeding.
Song Xu understood immediately; it was the same thing he had thought. He glanced at Bai Tiantian, who looked somewhat familiar. "Are you her friend?"
Bai Tiantian nodded, "We met at the auto show last time."
Song Xu vaguely remembered this, and he asked in a cold voice, "Didn't you know that Lin Xi is afraid of blood?"
"Huh?" Bai Tiantian was stunned. She shook her head. "I don't know."
"She'll wake up soon, don't let her see any more blood." After giving his instructions, Song Xu walked up to Chen Yan and Xiao Heng. "Who is he? What conflict did you have with him? How did Lin Xi get involved?"
“Brother Xu, we knew you would come,” Shen Yan said, feeling more confident after seeing Song Xu arrive. He pointed at Li Sheng and said, “He’s Lin Xi’s neighbor. He was waiting for Lin Xi at the gate of Jiang University today.”
Shen Yan told Song Xu everything she knew and had heard, with Xiao Heng adding to the story.
Bai Tiantian, while holding Lin Xi, would occasionally chime in. She had witnessed the whole thing, and with her good memory, she repeated every word Li Sheng had said.
Hearing these offensive words, Song Xu's face grew increasingly dark.
Zhang Qing knew Shen Yan and Xiao Heng, and they were quite close. As soon as he came in, he went to the police to find out what was going on, and things are quite complicated now.
The girl called the police. The man who was beaten was spreading rumors in public and tried to forcibly take the girl away. Shen Yan and Xiao Heng were considered to be acting bravely, but they beat the man quite badly.
The man who was beaten is now insisting that the girl is his fiancée, that they are already engaged, and that she wanted to dump him, which is why he came looking for her.
The man's words were vulgar, and he insulted the girl in various ways. Shen Yan and Xiao Heng couldn't stand it anymore. They couldn't hit people in the police station, so they could only verbally attack them.
Zhang Qing recognized the unconscious Lin Xi. Wasn't this the girl he met at the Western restaurant a couple of days ago?
At the time, Mr. Song paid special attention to this girl. Was the man who was beaten really this girl's fiancé?
Lin Xi slowly woke up, her body moving first. Before she opened her eyes, a pair of sunglasses were hanging on her nose.
"Xi Xi, you're awake?" Bai Tiantian helped Lin Xi put on her sunglasses. "You won't faint at the sight of blood if you wear sunglasses."
Lin Xi opened her eyes. Through her brown-tinted glasses, the outside world seemed several shades darker. As long as it wasn't bright red blood, she wouldn't feel dizzy.
"Thank you, Sweetie," Lin Xi exhaled. She was squeamish about blood and angry at the same time, and she fainted so quickly that she didn't even have time to say a word. "How did you know I'm squeamish about blood?"
Bai Tiantian pointed in Song Xu's direction, "He's the one who said it. Is he really not your boyfriend? He seems to know you a lot."
"President Song!" Lin Xi was surprised to see Song Xu as soon as she opened her eyes.
Hearing her voice, Song Xu looked over and beckoned to Lin Xi, "Come here for a moment."
Lin Xi stood up and walked over, her lips pressed into a straight line. "President Song, today's events are all because of me. I dragged Shen Yan and Xiao Heng into this, and I've troubled you to come to the police station."
The overly polite words made Song Xu's brows furrow even more tightly. "You tell me, what is your relationship with this man?"
“I have no relation to him. We just live in the same building and know each other,” Lin Xi said calmly. “My grandmother supported my schooling with her meager retirement pension and the money I made from selling recyclables.”
"His dropping out of junior high school was his own fault for not studying hard enough, it had nothing to do with me, and there was no engagement whatsoever."
“He made it all up. I, Lin Xi, would rather starve to death than have anything to do with someone like him.”
"Lin Xi, you're talking nonsense!" Li Sheng glared at Lin Xi with a sinister look. "Why don't you mention how you begged for mercy under me for your high school tuition?"
Lin Xi glanced at him coldly, "Every lie you tell now will become evidence to convict you."
“I’m just stating the facts,” Li Sheng sneered. “Aren’t you just a rich guy on your side? You’re dumping me as soon as a new sugar daddy comes along.”
"Which rich guy has she hooked up with?" Song Xu suddenly asked.
Zhang Qing was taken aback. Was his boss, Mr. Song, focusing on something a little off?
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng also pricked up their ears, eager to hear the answer.
“I saw with my own eyes a bright blue Porsche sports car taking Lin Xi home,” Li Sheng said confidently. “I checked that sports car; it costs over ten million. It must belong to a greasy middle-aged man.”
After hearing Li Sheng's words, Shen Yan, Xiao Heng, and Zhang Qing all looked at Song Xu.
